    We tend to eat here about once every two months. For the most part, the food is usually about average, but we go back because of the service, the ambience, and the menu selection. This time, however, everything, especially the food, was incredible. Our best experience ever at this restaurant. Everything was hot and fresh, and seems like they paid a lot of attention to detail. Great experience and made for a nice evening. Can’t wait to go back after this last experience.

    We were excited to celebrate our sons birthday at firebirds but our experience has left us not wanting to return. Our appetisers came out while we still had our large menus which made it awkward to start our food. We noticed that fresh bread was being put on other guests tables, we didn’t receive any. No lime was put in my husbands gin & tonic which has never happened before in his years of drinking gin & tonics. Our ‘aged ribeye’ was thin, tasteless & unseasoned. And my daughter in law’s salmon was over cooked, wasn’t seasoned and should be offered with a sauce. The ‘smooth’ mash was lumpy. The lobster spinach queso was very thin. The décor & ambience was very nice, and the black diamond martini was great. But other than that, it was a disappointing $350 meal and we won’t be back again.

    When I first got there our table we reserved was seated …the service was extremely slow from beginning to end ,everyone’s food was cold or wrong and the person whose birthday celebration it was never even ate food steak was extremely dry sent it back took 30 minutes to get food back only for it to be wrong

    We go there about every other week. Ordered salmon and it came out with wrong side and very undercooked. Chef came out and checked it out and apologized. Took it off the bill which was great but then I got charged 6.95 for the side. I would think the whole entree would have been removed, especially since the side that came out wasn’t what I ordered.

    We had a reservation. When we approached four people at the hostess station, they said, seat yourself on the patio. Four people and they did not want to greet us and seat us. They wouldn’t even come out with us to help us get seated. Really bothered me that we’re going to pay top dollar at a beautiful restaurant and four people don’t have the energy or courtesy to come out with us to be seated. The server was sweet and tried hard, but a little bit clueless. The lobster spinach queso was excellent. Good portions on the Seabass. We still enjoyed our experience. The restaurant is beautiful.

    Love this place! Food is always good, service is always good. Come here at least once a month, never disappointed. (Except when they don't have rare prime rib available.) I've tried all the shareables (LOVE the deviled eggs) and all the desserts (every one is delicious!). The sides are also good. Met a friend who needs gluten free and they were able to accommodate her. I love Firebirds!

    Firebirds never fails to meet our expectations! Service staff was friendly, attentive and well, just wonderful! From the sugared lemonade to the salad, soup and entrees... you cannot beat the level of service and food that you will receive at Firebirds. It is such a hit with our office that each new hire gets to receive their first meal in the Carmel area at Firebirds... great way to start Day 1! You owe it to yourself to have their homemade soup, wonderful warm bread and any entree. Thank you Firebirds!

    The food wasn't as good as normal. The service was outstanding. My husband and I wanted to take our family out for a nice dinner. However, it wasn't up to the level we are used to having at this restaurant. Because of that, my family will probably want to go somewhere else in the future. Which is a little disheartening.

    Service was horrible. Even though we had noted there was a birthday in the group, and there was a birthday card on the table from the restaurant, we had to ask for the complementary birthday dessert. Had to ask for bread, had to ask for more water, pretty much had to ask for everything. Server never introduced himself. Oh, and by the way, entrées now come with only one side instead of two. took 20+ minutes to get our drinks delivered.  So disappointed to see what Firebirds has become. As long time, Firebirds fans going back to their flagship restaurant in Charlotte, we have seen this Indianapolis location go downhill. What happened to the days when the manager would stop by your table to see how everything was? A great experience starts with the leadership, and clearly this location doesn’t have it.

    Service was terrible, we had to ask for everything including bread, and all food came out at once. Then, the air seemed to not be working with customers using menus to fan, and there were flying nets that we were constantly swatting. So, overall this was NOT an enjoyable experience.

    We have always loved devour indy at Firebirds. However, this year the salads and desserts were great, but not so the entrees. he salmon had a chili rub -- way too hot and not salmon appropriate . Another friend had the pork chop -- chop was dried out an mac & cheese tasted weird and was way too full of hot peppers. The prime rib was ample and tender, but had no taste.

    Made a reservation for 2 a week in advance. When arrived at 5:30 ... was told all available was a table by the restroom. We ended up sitting in the bar.

    The waiter spilled a drink a over my son, he was pouring his martini into the glass and the cap fell off , splashed into the glass and caused it to tip over the entire drink poured onto the table then into my sons lap. He was not compensated for any of his meal. Management didn’t come over to apologize or anything. The waiter just brought napkins and went to replace the drink. WE WONT BE RETURNING

    They were extremely busy due to Devour Indy, but the wait staff acknowledged this and let you know we’d get their full attention in a few minutes. They were true to their word. The server recommended the fried green tomato appetizer and both of us were shocked at the huge size of the tomatoes. It was Delicious. The prime rib was tender and cooked to my request. The pork with the loaded Mashed potato was excellent. The entire meal Was topped off with the server Recommended chocolate cheesecake (a huge piece) and carrot cake. We Will go back.

    We went here for the prime rib featured on their Devour menu. After we ordered prime rib, we were told they were all out. It was only 6:45 pm. We ordered a filet and new york strip steak. My steak was chewy and my husband's filet was undercooked. He sent his back and then it came back charred. They did cook him another one but by then his baked potato was cold. We also had gnats flying around our table and we were eating inside. Even though our server was great, we won't dine here again.

    Specify you want a table if you have 6 people, they are booths. Hopefully the gnats will be gone soon, extremely annoying considering we were sitting close to the kitchen.

    We specifically went to Firebirds for the Devour Indy menu which featured a prime rib entree. After placing our order the manager came to the table to inform us that the prime rib was sold out. Disappointing as it was only 6PM. She offered ribeye steaks in place of the prime rib which was fine. My steak arrived over cooked. They swapped it out, but we were disappointed in the overall experience as we previously really enjoyed eating at Firebirds and felt that it was far off the expectations that we had.

    Our experience would have been better with a different waiter. When I asked what the soup of the day was he said I know what it was yesterday and I said do you know todays? He said he would have to check? Most of our food was cold when we received it and one member of our party didn’t even get his meal until about 20 minutes after the rest of us! They did comp that meal but still it was after most of us. Food was good service was terrible

    We were very disappointed in this restaurant. We started with a wet table that I asked the server to dry off. Instead of getting an appropriate towel to dry with she took my place setting and used the napkin. When I asked for a fresh napkin she brought me a stack of bar napkins. Throughout the meal we were swatting gnats and other small insects away from the table. When we were ready to leave I stopped at the restroom to wash my hands and surprise both soap dispensers were empty. The food was OK and the wine was good. But I don't think we will be back.

    It was very hot in the restaurant. Terrible outside, too, but if an establishment’s AC can’t keep up, especially in a place with a kitchen open to the seating area, it is quite stuffy. My husband and I also felt rushed through our meal despite no one waiting for tables on a weekday evening. We ordered a three-course meal, and someone came with our dessert course and asked if we were ready for dessert when we each still had about half of our meal left. We said, “No, not yet,” and the guy sheepishly left. About 3-5 minutes later, when we still had much of our dinner still on our plate, a different woman swooped in annoyed and just plopped the desserts down without making eye contact or saying a word. Neither of these people were our server, who was nice and pleasant through the meal. Not sure why it was so imperative that they give us our dessert while we were still eating dinner. Thank goodness we didn’t order something with ice cream, as it would have been a mess. I didn’t like the feeling the staff gave us when we were paying about $100 for the meal we ordered. Unacceptable and likely won’t have this on the list of places to come back to anytime soon.
