The food was great and service was outstanding however being a small place and was full, it was quite noisy.
Everything was great except they do not have a single beer my husband will drink.
Our party of 4 had different dishes. The sea scallops and risotto dish was loved by those who had it. I had the seafood tagliatelle, which was not great - okay, but not great. The sauce was blah and the serving was small. The Caesar salad comes in a deconstructed presentation, while looking neat, was a bit of a pain to eat. The deconstruction resulted in the flavours not meshing. The calamari appetizer looked really good, but my friend would not share, so it must have been good.
Fishbone is our go to place for a nice dinner out. Every detail is always perfect!
We took another couple with us as a thank you treat. We ordered house red bottle of wine $30. We were told it was selected from Portugal. Compared to other red house wines we've had, I would call it rough.
With both my appetizer and entree, particularly the rice, was mushy in both and flavour grill transferred so neither were that appetizing. Rather surprised for what is supposed to be a chef level restaurant. the rice was almost like it had been warmed up rather than originally prepared.
Great as usual. The appetizer was a codfish salad that was amazing. My mixed seafood grill with squid ink rice was a good as anything I have had in Europe.
fantasic restaurant, wines are all pretty $$ however they are all high end.
We really enjoyed a wonderful meal. The food was excellent well portioned and very good. The seating was comfortable and the staff were very attentive.
We’ve been frequenting Fishbone for quite a number of years. We keep going back because the food and service is excellent and has always been consistent which is usually hard to find. The staff are amazing and very friendly. We highly recommend this place.
Great meal .... the food was absolutely delicious!
We were there on a Saturday night. Very noisy, but that's the price you pay for good food. The service was great. The wait staff charming. The food excellent except for the Portuguese pork sausage. Nice presentation, but very chewy. Shrimp tacos, crab cakes and Caesar salad very good. The timing between courses, perfect. Have eaten here 5 or 6 times. Your New Year's Eve menu was awesome last year.
Excellent food, excellent service, both are excellent！
Great food, great service. Favourite spot for sure!
Great food as always. Lovely ambiance and wonderful service.
Fantastic food and wine....always is! Photo attached is just one of the many starter favourites of ours....Chorizo. The deep fried Brussels are also amazing along with so many others. Sampled the crab cake addition this last time, and also very good. For an entree I had the whole sea bream deboned at the table with delicious roasted potatoes and salad. There are no salt and pepper shakers on the table because as in any solid fine dining establishment the food is truly cooked and seasoned to perfection so there is no need! We have been many many times and have never been disappointed....the addition of Fever tree tonic water is much appreciated!
Outstanding food. They change the menue regularly so one sees new items.
I don't recall the number of times we have been there however the restaurant is our restaurant of choice for any occasion.
Every meal we have had at this restaurant has been outstanding, and we have been coming here for years.
My favourite restaurant in the GTA. Love it. Wonderful spot for my wife and I.
A gem to be sure in a suburban town. Fabulous fish and a good wine list. Owned by a Portuguese chef who has a reverence for fresh ingredients properly prepared. Unexpectedly good restaurant. We were there on a Monday night and it was full so clearly has a strong and loyal following. Highly recommended
the meal and service was amazing. great food and the wait staff were fabulous. will be returning often.
Always a great dining experience at Fishbone. Fabulous food and outstanding service.
Highly recommend the deep fried brussel sprouts and the paella!
Food is amazing. But not family friendly place. No kids menu.
We enjoyed dinner at Fishbone Bistro for our anniversary dinner. Service was great and the food was fantastic. The chef made these amazing crab cakes for everyone. The whole grilled fish was outstanding. Even our 3 year old son enjoyed the meal.
Excellent service & outstanding food as always!
The food and service are tops. The grilled calamari starter is a must. This is a true neighborhood gem.
Fishbone is always top notch and today was no exception. Delicious food, great wine selection, knowledgeable staff, reasonable price- what more could one want. Worth the drive to Stouffville. Thanks again Pedro!!
Wonderful dining experience. Ambiance is terrific. Excellent food. Great for special occasion.
Our meal was excellent, the service friendly and efficient. My only qualification would be that it is difficult for 2 people to have a quiet intimate dining experience due to the noise level on a Saturday evening. This is not really a complaint, rather an observation. Another time, we would choose a quieter time to have a dinner for two.
Absolutely fantastic. A hidden gem.
Very very good! Took our holiday visitors here for our last evening. We have been several times and enjoyed it and this time it seemed to be even better. Shared a few appetizers...would have liked to have had the appy's while browsing the menu, but were told we had to order food all together??? I had the mixed fish/seafood platter with squid ink Risotto. Loved it! We all really enjoyed our meals. Definitely recommend.
The food is very good. The service is a bit slow but overall the waiter is knowledgable & nice.
Fabulous food, unpretentious atmosphere. Upscale casual dining
We had the prix fixed menu and it was delicious. Not your average restaurant fare.
Great service, excellent food and wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The food was outstanding, the service was good, however there is no accommodation for anyone who has food sensitivities, i.e. food substitutions.
Made a reservation with a note of our special anniversary dinner. Once we walked in, atmosphere is good. But very hot (maybe a/c broke!) table is reserved waiting for us.
Once we are seated, we were asked if like TAP water or other bottled water (smart sales techinique if we were 20 years younger, lol) We want to order cocktails and pop for the kids as I told him, so tap water it is. Then we noticed a little card on the table with special anniversary note. Very nice touch. But not our servers idea for sure as he did not mention anything to us and pretend he has no clue why we are here.
Server then come back to announce their specials, then came back again and ask if we need help. Later he finally asked us for drinks as I had mentioned when we sat down we want to order drinks! He came back the third time, and give me a heads up "it's the weekend and we are expecting a busy night". Ok it's 7:15pm with 2 couples cashing out and a table of 4 on their mains. They close at 9pm. What are you saying? Just that ruined the night for me, but I didn't say anything. We ordered 7 appetizers including one of his recommendation fresh oysters. Then 2 mains to share between 2 adult and 2 kids. Portions are small, which I like as we want to come to try everything. We basically tried everything except fish dishes.
Seafood paella was great, same as flat iron steak (you get 4 slices of the economy cut of beef) but it was great. Fish taco & grilled calamari was awesome although he ruined the display when placing on the table! Dessert we ordered all.
Overall we like it, but since we tried everything, no need to come back again. Server spoiled the whole night as he gave us the feeling he want to close. Not that busy on Sat night, but he want to close pretty bad. He seems to be one of the owner, full of self confidence but ignored customer service. $300 worth spending on the food, not the service
P. S. Food runners are curteous, we just got a bad lemon, lol
Great experience. Had a really nice evening. Portion size for the paella was very big. Could serve two. Prefer reducing the price with a smaller portion. Spicy sauce in the grilled cabbage was too sweet. Perhaps less of the sweet chille sauce or a more subtle sauce. Reastautsnt was a bit warm. Amazing fish dinner and perfect service. We'll be back for sure!
Excellent dinner, would just like the menu to change a but more often.
Always a great experience. I love when duck is on the menu though.
I don't have time to check every box but I will say - Fishbones is an amazing Bistro and I have already been talking about it. We had a great time, the waitresses were awesome, we had some laughs but above all, the food is to die for. Great food. Don't change a thing! Cheers...Ron & Kim
The food was delicious and did not expect to find such a Gem in Stouffville. There was plenty of time in between courses to chit chat and digest. Definitely expect to leave with a full stomach, the portions are quite generous. We hope to return soon.
Great food. Will not find better seafood in York Region...
