5 Senses Ramen and Sushi Bar
Awesome food as always!
Great friendly service, interesting sushi like: salmon poke with crispy rice, along with JFC Japanese fried chicken, and Takoyaki as the featured special.
A gem of a find for a mid-week meal. Delicious options for sushi lovers and non-sushi lovers. Vegetarian options and options with chicken or pork all got favourable reviews by our group.
All was great except for paying $20 for a bowl of soup is a bit much.
Amazing ramen and poke. Service was outstanding.
Good food, I wouldn't say spectacular.... Nice ambiance. Service a bit slow considering we were almost the only ones there. Good saki lemonade for very reasonable price.
Food and ambiance was good. Our server was amazing however we found food was a little slow to come out.
We were a table of 9 but we were the only ones in the restaurant.
Great place on a busy street. Came here with our little family of four to get out the cold on a Sunday at lunch. Had read an online review of the top Ramen places in Calgary for 2018. It didn't disappoint.
Chef and waitress/hostess were very friendly. They even changed the only TV that was playing some Japination to something more kid appropriate. Very appreciative of that as I have a 3 and 9 year old.
We started with Fries with Mayo. Excellent. Chives sprinkled on the fries were a nice touch. It was a good appetizer to start while we waited for our Ramen.
Kids shared a Traditional Tonkotsu and I had the same with an extra egg. Broth was flavourful and not too salty. Noodles were Al Dente (or qq as my wife would say). Wife had the Chili Goma Ramen - It had just the right amount of spice without being too over powering; you could still enjoy the flavour of the broth. Only negative is the pork was probably too thick and as a result a little tough. That being said, not as much fat as in other places so that's a plus.
Like I said, great to have Ramen on yet another cold day in Calgary. Will definitely come back again. There's a good selection of appetizers and other main dishes that I'd like to try.
Place is small but comfortable. Great service - very friendly.
The sharing plates were really good. The pulled chicken sandwich had a different texture than expected but still tasted great. Overall, very good. We’ll go back and try dinner.
Was okay, service was slow took awhile for her to get around to us. Ramen was good, but had a giant piece of pork in it that tasted like it was boiled making it taste really bland and chewy. Overall not bad but not my favourite
We wanted to try something new for a holiday meal. The ramen and poke bowls were amazing! We will be back.
Hadn't been here for a while, but have come twice in the past 2 weeks, both times were really good. I have tried all three of the Ramen broths, and they are all excellent, even the Vegetarian Mushroom broth. My favorite is the Tonkotsu which has deep and satisfying flavors that go far beyond the pork bone. My wife likes the Shio for its simple, clean profile. Clams add a lot. The noodles were perfectly al dente, with a nice bite to them.
Fried chicken is outstanding, crispy and juicy, with a great goma based sauce. If you love chicken, you need to try this.
Colm, the daytime chef, is a great host and is clearly proud of his food. He'll tell you everthing you want to know.
There is a fair bit of good ramen in Calgary these days, but these guys do it right. I'll be back often.
Great Ramen! No waiting in line! Service was great, very attentive. Yummy Vegan options, will be back!
Went for noodles....love the brisket!!
We enjoyed the experience and trying their play on some fusion plates. The owner is terrific in answering any questions you have. I love that they know how to answer questions about where their foods are from and so on. Lots of Gluten Free options
Best Ramen in Calgary so far. Noodles are thin and toothsome, like I like them. Decent gyoza.
Really good Karage. They call it JFC (Japanese fried chicken)
Excellent food. JFC is the best!! Great place and always good service when we have been
