Flame and Smith
Mon, Wed, Sun 5:00 pm–9:00 pm
Thu–Sat 5:00 pm–10:00 pm
Restaurant was only open for 10 days
Once food was served, not a single person came to see if all was ok or if we needed something ie: salt, pepper or even more drinks Food came very quickly but was cold We had the fish Almost felt precooked, warmed up, and served.
Perhaps staff needs a bit of training in customer service
Great night. Service was superb. Loved the lamb and the sundae. Thank you!
This was my second time, I must admit the first time I was there the food seemed better. Maybe the menu will change periodically. But great interior design and I liked the wine lists which included wines from around the world and also exclusively local wines to Prince Edward County.
Fantastic anniversary dinner with my wife, the beer list was short but interesting and the oysters were perfection. Our entrees were delicious - she had the Seasonal Vegetable Tart, I had the steak and marrow. If I could go back, I would have eaten here all three weekend dinners!
We made a reservation two months in advance and when we arrived we were told we could either sit at the bar or on the patio. Not at an actual table in the restaurant. We were peeved but agreed to sit on the patio. Between the feeling that our reservation was deemed unimportant, the barn cats climbing on us as we dined and the not-so-great service (my husband waited 20 minutes before he was finally brought his beer), we weren’t impressed. Especially when we were paying so much and had been looking forward to a special dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was good but the overall experience was disappointing.
A great spot in the County. Food was unique and lovely and service very good. A bit pricy for County standards but won’t keep me away
Our server( Emma Stone) was amazing!
The corn grilled in Doritos was unique, crunchy and delish!
The pulled pork on the deconstructed tacos was just ok but the accoutrements with it were local and delish( except of course the imported grilled pineapple)!
What was extremely disappointing was the very minimal choice of local wines.I ordered a drink of all things because I could not find a local Pinot Gris or anything similar. After spending a whole day at vineyard tastings... I would have thought that the sommelier would have inserted an easy to recognize list of good, light summer wines .
And coming from Montreal... whoah... those bottle prices were way too high!!!
So all in all , it is a nice resto to visit in Bloomfield but please, please offer a better wine selection at lower prices... you will have many more returning customers!
What a spectacular meal from start to finish. I've been living off various caprese salads all summer but theirs is the best with berry compote and cherries and the most ripe heirloom tomatoes I've tasted, but the best part was the pistachio cream, beautiful flavors. The sea bass was cooked perfectly accompanied by thinly sliced raw cucumber, zucchini and beans with a potato foam. My husband had the lamb, it too was perfectly medium rare.
First visit for us, very good food and service, very well done interior and landscaping. Will visit again.
"Very relaxed feel. Everything was good, but the side potatoes were surprisingly great! Service was a bit odd, different servers kept coming to the table to ask the same questions, but everyone was friendly."
There is so much to like about this restaurant. The open kitchen, the great atmosphere, very good food and excellent service. We’ve enjoyed two lovely evenings there and will be back!
Birthday dinner, interesting décor and servers. A little slow on the for drinks, but the food actually came too quickly, but delicious and hot. They forgot that we ordered a salad 1st, but we had dessert instead which we usually don't do. Only thing was super expensive wine list. Mostly overpriced county wines and a few others that we equally overpriced. They do charge a corkage fee of $30 which is a little high compared to over local restaurants. Overall, very nice restaurant, good food, interesting servers and an upbeat atmosphere. I love definitely visit again.
great spot, great food! perfect for date night. service was great and oysters were yummy. huge focus on meat so might not be the best option for veggie friends. wish there was a chicken dish on the menu.
The food was sublime, superb, succulent, supernal, slurp-worthy. Ah, would that I had a tongue like my beloved canine's, in order to do justice to the marrow bone. And who could have known that would-fired broccolli could be revelatory?
We really enjoyed Flame+Smith. Welcome to Prince Edward County!
The design and ambience were outstanding, very modern and well curated. However, it was loud and made conversation difficult. The menu was sparse and didn't offer many meat items. I thought having "flame" in its name would mean items such as ribs and pulled pork and chicken. My veggie tart was very good though and my husband enjoyed his burger and the unique side of potatoes. Dinner was pricey.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting with wonderful ambiance and superb service. Looking forward to returning!
1st time visiting Flame and Smith.
Negroni cocktail and beer and bourbon set the night off rite. Amazing drinks food service. Thanks for a great night out.
Not a great wine selection - not one chardonnay offered by the glass.
Bread was AWFUL...$8 for a bowl of tasteless bread. Service was excellent - very attentive.
We'd return but forgo some of the side dishes and bread which inflates the bill for little value.
Awesome food, service and ambiance.
Very good food on wood oven, the owner is very accesible and friendly
Wonderful food. We had the tomahawk steak which was delicious.
The roast chicken was excellent! They could have ramped up the veg.
New restaurant in the county and definitely has jumped to near the top of our list. Great food and the concept of open fire cooking is great! Definitely recommend and we will go back!
This place is a bit odd. Some will love it, some will hate it. My steak seemed to be reheated and had an unpleasant burnt char taste to it (yet it wasn't hot enough to melt the pat of butter on top), my wife's lamb on the other hand was fantastic and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were super delicious, but the wrapped endive was rather watery and thin.
They have a public wifi hotspot, but no one knows the password apparently (and it's in a cell deadzone, so forget looking anything up like beer/wine lists or other info while there). The beer/wine list were local, but not the greatest I've seen of the local stuff.
Doubt I'd go back.
A fabulous experience with new and creative favorites all cooked over an open wood flame. Staff were friendly and informed. Looking foward to a winelist reflecting local selections by the glass.
The central location in the County means it will get busy.
The zucchini soup was my favourite. We also ordered the seafood platter but everything tasted kind of bland and overfrozen but hit on the pricier side. Service was a little too slow and not too attentive. (We waited forever for bread and the bill) but the atmosphere was nice esp. for date night.
Amazing food and cocktails, and great ambience. What a great addition to Bloomfield and Prince Edward County!
Great restaurant, the food is amazing. The waitress and owner took good care of to apologize for the delay in getting our mains. It’s a great new addition to the county, they are going to set the standard high for restaurant dining in PEC. High recommend this restaurant. Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. All you can ask for in this new restaurant that we rate a 10/10.
I would definitely recommend Flame + Smith to all and we will definitely return to this gem!
Would like more feeling of local food and wine. Fish eg. pickerel from the lake instead of imported. Would like more local wine of better quality than Sandbanks. eg. Huff Estate, Lighthall, Long Dog. Believe it or not, will happily come back. This is a good change from most of the county dining offered (Merrill the exception).
The menu was eclectic and somewhat sparse, desert was good, coffee excellent
This resto is amazing, I was blown away. The food was spot on, never over salted nor bland, great blend of flavours and beautifully presented plates. The restaurant was chic but not at all gimmicky.
The design and atmosphere is incredible! However the menu is very pricey so be prepared. The portions don't quite justify the price but it is indeed tasty. I wouldn't come here for a casual meal but I'd recommend it for a special occasion.
This place is not to be missed. The food is incredible as was the service. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
My mom had this to say
"Tell the owners that they have done a wonderful job transforming the space. It was vibrant, beautiful and a sight for the eyes. The open kitchen concept is the first I have seen of it's kind here in the county and a welcome change! The staff there is very friendly and welcoming. The seabass was delicious and wonderful to share with my grandson. I will tell all of my friends and co-workers about this place as I had a very enjoyable 'date night' with my grandson. It is appealing to all ages. I will definitely be back for more delicious food!"
The food and service were excellent. But the music was much too loud! Could not have a reasonable conversation. Would only go again if music was not nearly as loud.
Excellent food. Service still needs some work. By far the best food in the county
Such an exceptional experience! The Country, and Country on whole are the better now that Flame + Smith is open.
