While the service was great and Inn beautiful, we were extremely disappointed in the food. Two of the appetizers were very bland with an odd texture and the other two were very overwhelming with a strange mixture of vegetables (also very bland). Two of our entrées had peculiar sauces that left an immediate unpleasant aftertaste while the other two had soggy buns for the sandwiches. In all of our fine dining experiences, the quality and taste at the Fogo Inn Restaurant has been the most disappointing. We had been looking forward to going there for quite some time but in all honesty, it was an extremely subpar dining experience and I wouldn’t recommend the food to anyone. Thankfully the ambience was beautiful. A very, very disappointing $300 plus spent.

Hi I loved the lunch, the food is exceptional with all the vegan options being appreciated. Except being vegan didn't really give us any options for dessert so we didn't get a choice of all those delicious looking options on the cart except for some stewed apples 🍎 !!! Also we arrived a little earlier than our reservation time and were not allowed to walk around the inn on the outside at all, which we were really looking forward to, also all the tours of the inn were booked so we were very disappointed to not get on one of those. Perhaps when you book for lunch they can let you know about the tour and how it needs to be booked in advance! We felt a little put off at the gate area about all this because even though we arrived a little early, they couldn't put us on a tour and we had to leave the premises or parking lot and then come back an hour and a half later!

You really shouldn't visit Fogo Island without dining at the Inn at least once! It's a magical experience and so much more than just a meal.

Absolutely stellar lunch! The salads and Cod were amazing and we had the best seat in the house for a stunning view. Staff were extremely courteous, helpful and delightful. It was our 40th anniversary for Maggi and I. Thank you for making it a very memorable experience. Kindly, Chris & Maggi

We were only able to reserve a table as of 6PM but in the end this was perfect as they gave us the corner table with the best view and took amazing care of us. Service was as expected and just spot on. Food was amazing and we were lucky they had Moose on the menu that day, made our entire Fogo Island experience complete.

Food was good but we expected a little bit more 'recherche culinaire", fancyness than that, after all we have heard about the food in FOGO Island Inn. The wine suggestion was perfect and the service in french was very appreciated.

We went enjoyed a fantastic lunch. There is a small salad bar to begin and then an appetizer, main and dessert. Such an experience to visit Fogo Island Inn. Definitely easy to see why it is consistently rated so highly! Our OpenTable reservation said the dress was "smart casual" however all the other guests who dined with us (and seem to have been staying at the Inn) were dressed quite casually. Most in jeans and running shoes. I think if that is acceptable then you should remove the "smart casual" from your booking confirmation.

The food was outstanding but the portions were very small, even for a tasting menu. Also, the wine pours were basically half pours. For $14/glass, and $400 meal for two, I expect a full glass of wine.

An absolute must. So glad we made the reservation in advance and were able to have dinner at the Inn - had a beautiful sunset, but the ambiance is such that the dining room views are stunning regardless the weather. Food was beyond my expectation - a perfect meal. The Inn staff is also very warm, personal and attentive to details. I cannot say enough about our evening. Thank you to the chefs and staff for creating a perfect moment/memory for us.

This was one of the two best restaurant meals of my life, and I'm 70. 5 stars are not enough. Using a rating system at all is not enough! Rating systems are for comparisons and this place is incomparable.

Our lunch was incredible. The halibut was cooked perfectly and the walnut pudding scrumptious. The view spectacular. A wonderful break while chasing icebergs.

We had a fantastic experience in Fogo Island Inn. We were there only for the lunch and we found out in the morning the Inn would offer a free walking tour. All the staffs were very nice and kind (except the lady at the front gate, I wish her attitude could be improved when serving visitors even if they don't stay in the hotel) Otherwise, strongly recommended to everyone. It was an unforgettable experience.

My experience at the inn was just amazing! The view was spectacular and the food simply delicious! The food was very flavorful and well presented! Hospitality was great! I hope to visit again sometime soon

I have been wanting to have lunch here at the restaurant, see the art gallery and set foot in the Fogo Island Inn for 4 years now. It is quickly becoming an iconic destination on the Canadian landscape. We were not disappointed. The meal was impeccable, especially the buffet. Every bite was so flavorful and well appointed. I had a Baked Alaska for dessert which I suspect had a partridge berries centre.....to die for!!!! The whole staff were among the most friendliest that I have seen in any restaurant. We had a table with a view of waves crashing as we ate. So reasonably priced.....LOVED IT!

We were there for lunch and were warmly welcomed and seated by the window with a great view. Food was outstanding and worth the drive. Only disappointment was we only learned when we arrived that we could have had a brief tour of the hotel at 11:30.

It was nice experience, nice place overlooking the ocean. It is neat and staff were welcoming and open to answer any questions. The dining room is small and the tables are so tight near each other which Me and my wife didn’t like, we hear the other table conversations and almost hit their elbows! It’s not a kid friendly restaurant, it’s good for a special occasion/ romantic dinner kinda of stuff, but we had our kids who weren’t satisfied with the food, besides of the crystal glasses and table setting which is beautiful but not suitable for kids. The food tasted really good, very well cooked and presented. The chef successfully used nice mixes of different flavours which u might not know what’s in that! I can describe the menu to be a little limited, many seafood options and 2 duck options ( 2 in the scale of not too many), with the apsence of beef, chicken, salmon... the value for food and experience is overrated, yes beautiful location, yes outstanding view, yes nice service, nice food, but you would be paying too much and u probably will be still hungry. Good as once in a life experience, anniversary celebration... we had a reservation and surprisingly no one even asked about our name! And I mentioned in the online reservation that it is a birthday celebration and nothing happend too, regular table regular setting nothing!

The Fogo Island Inn was an absolutely incredible experience. From the food to the wine and dining room, we could not have had a better experience. To top it off, the restaurant gave us the best table in the dining room in the corner overlooking the ocean. Needless to say, we were thrilled!! If you have a chance to go, definitely jump at the opportunity. One recommendation if you're interested is to go directly to the front desk and ask for a tour. They're more than happy to accommodate the request!

We dined at the Inn to celebrate a special occasion. The food and service were impeccable. We saw the mission and values of Shorefast reflected in the interior design, decor, the food, the friendly staff and in the presence of Zita Cobb, Founder and CEO of Shorefast, herself dining at the Inn. We were grateful to the servers who were discretely attentive as the meal progressed and responsive to our questions about the food, the Inn, their role at the Inn and their experiences on Fogo Island. This was a very special treat - once in a lifetime experience for us and it didn't disappoint in any way.

Stunning dining room, fabulous service and a love of the island the Inn is on is palpable everywhere. An absolute must and worth the money. It is a non-profit Inn with proceeds going to help support the community it serves. Very cool mandate and a really beautiful experience.
