We had not been to Food Plenty for a couple months. Although the service was good, the food was not good. It was barely warm and taste of some of the food was not good.
Really no excuse for the food issues as the place barely had 10 people in it.
Quite a shame this is not looking good for this new place.

I do love the space but menu needs upgrading. I had brunch last week which was great. Dinner pretty mediocre overall. None of our dishes were very exciting. Crab dip was good but served basically with crackers! Gnocchi was not edible. Wait staff was awesome and efficient. Person at door working on reservations both time was rude and unfriendly and not at all welcoming! She needs out of food industry! I love the space but please work on the menu. Very amateurish.

Service was great and the decor and design are amazing. The food, unfortunately, was the worst part. Uninspired dishes lacking in flavor and overpriced for the quality of the preparation. Will not return.

Nice, clean place and the service was excellent. The food was very good. The wine list could be a bit bigger, but they covered all the bases.

Delicious fresh food and casual atmosphere. Option to eat outside, good proportions on food. There are multiple dining areas, so not every patron is situated in just one open space.

We did the outside dining, first a couple drinks at the bar then an outside table. Great view from the bar looking back through the restaurant at the woods behind the restaurant in late evening with sun setting behind it. Waitress was spot on and incredibly personable. Food tasted great as well. Eating there again this weekend I liked the whole package so much.

We tried Food Plenty for restaurant week. We had to change tables because of the blinding sun, and the server was only fair throughout. The menu seems more suited for the fall, and the restaurant week menu was thin. We wanted to order some of the appetizers on the restaurant week menu but they were not offered unless you ordered the entire restaurant week menu, and similarly, they would not substitute on another plate. The lack of flexibility was surprising, and some of the dishes pretty bland. We like their other restaurants, so this experience was disappointing. May try it again in the fall or winter, but no immediate plans to return.

This was our first time at Food Plenty and our expectations were high. Overall, super impressed with the ambiance, deco & service. The food was a big disappointment. It’s restaurant week so we were excited to try one of the ‘highlighted’ offerings. I chose the MD Crab Soup (Luke warm at best), ribs (dry) w/ collard greens (tasty) and cheesecake selection for dessert (GREAT). My husband had same as me and his rib offering was 2/3 of mine and just as dry. Our son ordered a burger and was happy with it. Net, great concept, decor all ties together, service seems spot on. Food needs to improve. We will try one more time in the hopes that the team is in start up mode.

Food was delicious, service was less than desirable. Waiter brought our wine out after dinner was completely finished and acted like there wasn't anything wrong with that. We sent the wine back. Other than that we really enjoyed our time and will return.

My wife and I went there for the first time. It was Howard County restaurant week. We had spare ribs and bouillabaisse. The bouillabaisse was full of chicken, which my wife didn't eat. The spare ribs were ok. The only two things which we thought were good were the fries and fried green tomatoes which accompanied the main items. One of the things that I rate a restaurant on is where they seat you. We were there at 5:15, and the dining room was essentially empty; yet, we were seated in a small table for two while there were plenty of larger tables available. It is difficult for me to understand how we are expected to return when this has occurred. Is it too difficult to remove the utensils to make the customers feel more welcome and valued?

Locally sourced food was delicious. Tender catfish sandwich sloppy with red slaw on fresh ciabatta. Fried green tomatoes were a bit dull, but the carrot puree gave a boost. Cocktails gave a delightful kick. Dined in the glass room with view of sunset.

Everything was terrific, fresh, hot, and attractively plated. Conspicuous exception was the Gumbo in pastry, which consisted of a hollow pastry shell that perhaps once contained some gumbo, but was bereft of filling

First impression upon walking in -- BEAUTIFUL interior and decor. Clean, simple design -- rustic and modern at the same time. The cocktail list was impressive. I'm tired of the same old cocktails...these were actually exciting and different. Love the support of everything local. Our dinner and app were tasty and we enjoyed every bite. The outside bar area is awesome and we will definitely come back with friends while it's still nice out.

We went for the fantastic fried chicken-not serving it anymore. Asked if I could have the roasted chicken without the cream of chicken soup - no. Could I substitute the mashed potatoes for the cream of chicken soup? No.
While the food was good, it seems like there are waaay too many rules & not the great food we experienced initially.
Ps - the wine by the glass is very limited - one Chardonnay, one merlot, etc.
Bring back the chicken & we will be back with bells on!

Trying to start with the positive, I'll say the bartender was good. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was almost empty (there were a few tables occupied outside on the balcony though). The sun was low in the sky but the server said our blinds could not be lowered any further so half our table had sun in our face throughout (since the dining room faced west there wasn't really anywhere to hide from the sun, although there were plenty of open tables we could have moved to). The server was courteous and helpful but the food was shockingly bland and boring. Where was the flavor? A burger that didn't even taste like the patty had basic salt and pepper, a macaroni and cheese side that was just a dry, chewy mess. The oyster salad was edible but not flavorful. We really like Victoria Gastro Pub but I have no idea what happened here.

First time at this restaurant and plan to return. Very good food at very good prices. Charmingly decorated but beware the very hard chairs on a poorly padded derrière. We will ask for one of the cushioned benches next time. Very pleasant waiter... only saw him twice during the meal however ( tried to get an iced tea refill) However his affable nature made up for this. Patio dining looked great but not on this 90 degree day.
Would love to suggest a sugar free dessert.
This will be a regular place for us !!!

Great appetizers! We had the crab dip with pretzel bread, lots of crab, very flavorful. The fried cauliflower with fried jalapenos. More fried jalapenos please! Cauliflower needs some spices. Finally the skillet cornbread, this was melt in your mouth good...the closest thing to spoonbread I've had this far from Williamsburg. Entrees were men. Chicken and dumplings, was soup, was ok and the steak cob salad, the steak was very chewy and undercooked, the rest of the salad was good! I'll try it again, a really lively fun place to go.

Fried fish sandwich was very good.

The grilled shrimp grits was so so in taste. The “grits” were too mushy like porridge instead of grits.

The driveway and parking is a little confusing at first, but we got to the restaurant a little before our reservation and were promptly seated. I had looked at the menu online and decided I wanted fried chicken. However, it had been removed from the menu at the restaurant as a seasonal item. If fried chicken isn't a summer dish I don't know what is. Anyway, the wine and beer we ordered was good and the catfish sandwich my wife ordered was very good. However, in-lieu of chicken I ordered a Cobb salad with sliced steak. This was disappointing and over priced. There is no way what was under the sliced steak could be called a Cobb salad. The steak was tasty but tough. I'm not sure if we will go again.

This was our second visit; we wanted to give it a second chance. The biggest complaint is that there are no options for someone with food sensitivities, and apparently no flexibility in the kitchen to make any adjustments to accommodate. The service was slow. Soup served without a spoon; we had to ask to get one. I ordered a side salad and didn’t consider I should ask for it to come out first, nor did the server ask.

This was our 2nd visit to Food Plenty and will be the last as well. We gave this restaurant another try since our introductory meal in the winter was less than spectacular. We arrived and walked toward the hostess stand where an employee (perhaps a manager?) was berating other employees with an expletive-filled tirade about not setting up for a special party or some such nonsense. Once that scene was over, we were greeted and seated near the bar at a table on mezzanine. We immediate noticed the lack of any ambient sound other than the cackling of bar patrons. Why is there no music? Our waiter was nice and attentive at first. However he never came back to check on us once the entrees were served (the biggest faux pas a waitperson can make). We were underwhelmed by everything we tried (corn chowder, pierogies, crab cake and lamb pappardelle). Without exception, each item was bland and in desperate need of seasoning or herbs (I'm guessing that's what they have salt/pepper on the table so you can help yourself, but at this price point, the food should be excellent out of the gate). I would have asked the waiter for lemon to help the crab cake/asparagus combo, but since he was not available, we just ate and left. For the same money and a much better experience with respect to both food and ambiance, travel a bit further south on Route 29 to Ananda, Sushi Tendou or Ranazul in Maple Lawn or to the Turn House in Columbia (off of Route 108 at the Hobbits Glen golf course).
