    Food was very good, cozy ambience. Service was very friendly and professional, but took more than an hour from when we were seated to get our main course. Perhaps they were short on kitchen staff

    This restaurant was recommended. It was our anniversary and they made us feel so special. The food was amazing. The lady that served us was so lovely and made us feel very welcome. As part of our anniversary we received Prosecco on arrival and when we finished our dessert we received chocolate truffles

    Excellent food in a lovely setting. Great service. The restaurant is bigger than expected but split into nice small cosy areas. The menu was lovely and they were able to adapt it for food intolerances. Highly recommend it.

    Dishes were of a high standard of cooking, however quantities were not enough considering the price, there could be more accompaniments such as potato and veg. We did get extra bread without charge so at least we were able to fill the corner and not leave still hungry!

    Great restaurant. But don’t buy gift vouchers. Gift vouchers must be spent on one visit. Our meal came to £125. Our friends had spent £150 on a voucher (paid to the restaurant in advance). Result: £25 surcharge and we left with a bad taste. We won’t be coming back!

    Such a nice place to escape from the city craziness; very cozy atmosphere, amazing food and drinks, and very gracious staff. My party each got a different entree and we all LOVED what we got. And fair prices!

    If you are in Edinburgh, this place is A MUST! The food and service are stellar, and it is a quiet escape from the busy streets of the city. I had the beef tartare and the mushroom tagliatelle and they were superb. Even traveling solo, they couldn't take me as a walk in so definitely make a reservation ahead of time to avoid any disappointment.

    Overall nice. Think it’s designed for tourists. We sat in back patio bit which was a bit weird ambience wise. Food is nice but a bit overpriced. There are other better value places in the city

    They seem to limit the number of reservations so that the restaurant has a nice, quiet ambience and you can actually carry a conversation with your table-mates! The below-street-level location has a cozy atmosphere, and the dishes use local and seasonal ingredients to great effect. Everything we sampled was unique and very, very tasty.

    We had an amazing birthday celebration on Saturday night. We were presented with a glass of fizz which was a welcome surprise. All our food was outstanding. My lamb was amazing . One of the best meals I’ve had. I was then presented with a lovely plate of macrons and truffles with happy birthday piped on the plate and again another 4 glasses of complementary desert wine. We were very well looked after and appreciated all the thoughtful extra touches to make my birthday feel special. Will definitely be back

    This was our visit meal when visiting Scotland and dealing with my daughter’s significant food allergies. Daniel, our server, made us feel very comfortable with ordering. The food was delicious and you definitely feel taken care of at Forage & Chatter. I highly recommend. We even went back our last night when we lucked into a last minute booking. Great way to begin and end our trip, especially thanks to Daniel!

    Forage & Chatter is a hidden gem in Edinburgh. The building is interesting and there are several dining areas. We dined in the charming atrium. Service was excellent from the moment we entered until we left. Staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. The food is phenomenal. Every dish we had was unique and bursting with flavors. My husband and I shared the whisky-smoked salmon with quail eggs and it was delightful. I had the cod, and not only was it perfectly cooked, the accompanying potato and corn with sauce was delicious. My husband had the tagliatelle with a tomato-based vegetable sauce that was piquant and well-balanced. For dessert we shared the honey ice with raspberries and granola. I've never had anything like it and we both loved it. A wonderful dining experience.

    Had a birthday lunch with my wife at Forage & Chatter. Amazingly, we were the only diners that lunchtime (they had had multiple cancellations). We were looked after very well. Service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the wine was very good. Even the quiet background music matched our tastes very well. Altogether a most relaxing and enjoyable afternoon. We will be back for future celebratory lunches.

    Wow! What an amazing experience! I booked this restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday, and we had a spectacular time. The venue is charming and deceptively large but intimate. The tables are separated into smaller rooms, which are cosy but private. The menu was small, but every option was a winner! We both opted for a salmon starter with the steak for the main. Daniel catered to us before we even arrived. He had a lovely bottle of Rose chilling at the table for us (upon my request) and arranged a lovely dessert plate with truffles and dessert wine for the birthday. The price was very reasonable for the quality of food and beverage. I can't recommend Forage & Chatter highly enough. You don't want to miss it!
