The meal was exceptional. I had the Shrimp/Scallop risotto and the seafood was cooked to perfection and the risotto was creamy and flavorful. My guests had the Filet Mignon with bernaise sauce on the side and the meat was cooked exactly as ordered. The waiter was efficient but friendly. The room was quiet when we first arrived but as it got filled up, the noise level increased so it was hard to hear someone across the table.

My supposedly Prime bone-in ribeye steak was so tough that I could barely cut it with a serrated knife, and was the most tasteless I have had in years. Our server did her best to make it a nice experience, but how do you fix an expensive bad steak at a steakhouse?

Service as usual was excellent. There were four of us and 2 ordered fillets, one ordered lobster tail. Their food was very good, as usual. I ordered a New York steak and it was very grizzly. Every other bite was unchewable. It was like little pieces of rope in the meat. I sent it back but it took a long time to get a replacement meal and by the time I got it, my friends had finished their meal. OK, that happens but the replacement steak was close to being rare, I had ordered it medium. So I sent it back again. It was unusual that it came almost rare since it took really a long time to get it. So I had to send it back again and that took a long time and although it was the same piece of meat ,but barely cooked medium. I did not tell the server because I didn't want them to take back the steak, so I ate some of it. It is OK if a single piece of meat was no good but the process to get the replacement was unacceptable. The cherry on the cake is that I ordered a cup of coffee with dessert and it was luke warm. I didn't say anything to the server but it should have been hot. I paid a lot of money for a subpar meal.

Great food! However, we were seated outside and had music competing with the next door restaurant’s tunes so was a bit annoying. Also had bugs constantly around us due to being seated outside and a bit of slower service. Overall still a lovely meal!

Server Eduardo provided excellent service. My friend had the Blackened Rib Eye Steak. I tried it and WOW was it good !! I had the larger Filet Mignon and it was excellent. We had a great time !!

Took several family members to dinner. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Every dish was prepared to requested temperatures & presentation was good. There are no exotic menu items but all the old standards are very well done in a comfortable setting. We’re out of the area, but I believe we’ll be back.

Very nice restaurant. Put in a lot of effort for my brothers birthday. Everyone said happy birthday. It was on our menus, and we got a little desert. The food was very good, and our waitress was very helpful and friendly.

Nice restaurant and very friendly staff. The food was very good except for their steaks which is odd for a steak house. Everything that wasn’t steak was very good. Steak was over cooked but even if cooked properly just wasn’t that special, which a $70 steak should not leave us with “so so” feelings. While we have high steak standards $70 bucks so get you a steak you are excited to eat. Again great staff.

Always dependable. Clubby space that is cool on the hottest evenings. Service is always prompt and very friendly. Menu has some additional choices over 'steaks and chops'. But overall, a most comfortable choice for an evening out in the Eastbay.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience at Forbes Mill. We sat at a table for 5 without a light above and needed to use our phones in order to see the menu because it was so dark. Our server struggled to attend to us even though she was not overly busy. She broke the cork in the bottle of wine we brought (it could happen to anyone) and while she took appetizer orders, it was approximately 20 minutes after we were seated. Additionally she added a menu item that we did not order and despite sharing that we did not order it, the item was added to our bill. It was more than 30 minutes later when she finally asked for dinner orders. By the time she took the order for dinner, two of us were full and elected to share a meal with our significant other. Good for us - but if she had taken our order earlier, we would have ordered two additional meals. The restaurant was out of more than one basic beer and offered few alternatives. Service was slow, felt disjointed and we were apologizing to our out of town guest on the overall experience.

While we had a nice night overall, a waiter dropped a tray full of plates onto the ground right behind my husband’s chair, and food and ketchup was splattered all over his back while we were eating. Although the waiter was apologetic and we understood it was an accident and that these things happen, we were really turned off by the lack of concern by staff. My husband’s shirt and shorts were ruined, and our waiter simply comped one of our drinks for the inconvenience, when in our opinion, a little more should have been done to make up for the unfortunate situation. Our waitress wasn’t super present or attentive in general, and although the majority of our food was pretty good and cooked to our liking, my filet was uncooked in the center despite asking for it to be medium (I’m pregnant and did not want to eat bloody meat). Our waitress didn’t come back to check in on us until the tail end of the evening, so I felt it was too late to ask for it to be cooked longer.

When I pay 400 for a meal for two and I get told there is a time constraint for my meal because I had to change tables from a broken one to one that isn’t, it puts me off. And then half of the restaurant was still empty when I left. Ruins the mood, which I what I’m paying for. Steakhouse food at this price point is good to outstanding everywhere, ambiance and service are the decision drivers that differentiate experiences. Waiters were very decent to phenomenal, but seating hosts were as green as they come, leaves room for growth. Will try again. Afterthought, I don’t remember the last time I had to pack my own leftovers.
