Fox on John
we were there sunday at 11 am. DEC 8th.
excellent services. very polite and fast. young man served us. i was given fries in error instead of salad, and he fixed it immediately.
loved the bottomless mimosa deal. very yummy.
great brunch place before a show at Princess Wales.
It was a bit weird. Service was really unusual - big mix up with giving us the wrong menus/prices and wanting to charge us higher price even though the menus (and website) they gave us had lower price? Server didn't think it was an issue/expected us to pay the higher price, Then they brought us rice bowl with "ground beef" and kept insisting it was "ground beef" when it was thick slices of steak. Very confusing and odd. Been here several times and food/service was good in the past, but tasted different this time for sure. Overall odd experience with the server. Pretty restaurant though.
Waitress was great!
Quick and fast service and food was good and yummy
Food and service was quite good. Disappointed that there were no gluten free options.
Would recommend this restaurant for brunch on Sunday.
Nice location with good vibe. Service was slow because there were not enough waiters and it took forever to be able to order anything (or to get the bill). Food and drinks are good, but not amazing
Not impressed and food presentation was just ok. Server took forever to get our drinks
It was very very loud hard to have a conversation our waitress was lovely
Upon arrival to our reservation we were seated at a table that was extremely dirty and we kindly requested for it to be wiped down. The host didn’t hesitate and apologized.
We all ordered sandwiches that were served using the sourdough bread; however all the guests felt the bread was not fresh that day.
Hello Melissa, Thank you for your review, we are always looking to make our guest's experience at the Fox better. We would like to apologize for the table, that should not be an experience for a guest to walk into. As of yesterday, we are using a new type of sourdough bread. We humbly apologize for your bread being stale, and would like to invite you to come in and try our new menu. Sincerely, Allison. Fox on John team.
We loved the ambience, we were sitter in the dinning room and felt like we were at home.
It was decent.
Waitress was average at best. Table was dirty. I had the beef melt sandwich. The meat was beyond over cooked. Dry like paper. Awful. My companion had the Cubano which he said was not good and did not finish. He had been here before and liked it. Either we got the wrong chef or it has changed. I will not go back.
Nice view, great service and good food. Really expensive though - not good for struggling university students lol
Great patio to enjoy drinks with friends
I celebrated a birthday at Fox on John and I couldn't be more impressed with how the staff were so accommodating of my requests (I brought a birthday cake). The food was delicious and the staff were all so attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Server was not very attentive. Asked to order beverages and she took one persons order and then walked away without asking anyone else. Did this three other times until everyone got their beverage ordered. Failed to bring salt and pepper to the table despite asking her on two separate occasions. Food was alright.
Great food and Great service. Have no complaints. Waitress was on point.
This restaurant was very close to the theatre and it was good value for me and my grandson. There is no kids' menu but there are lots of options for kids that are priced reasonably. The host and our server were both excellent - friendly, attentive, engaging.
Pop was flat even after multiple refill requests. Waitress didn't know if they had relish. We saw bottles on hostess cart.
It was great food and service just was too hot inside and they cranked he music so loud we couldn’t talk.
Aaaaamazing. I had the Branzino entree, found it cooked just right. My lady ordered the wild mushroom risotto and ordered another to go to eat later!
Very nice ambiance and staff. Very good food in the Entertainment district.
I made a reservation for 5 using open table. The reservation was not honored and in was forced to make new plans late the night of the raptors game 6 win over the bucks. Not impressed but the food could have been good. Hard to tell
Great food and great drinks, nice ambience
This is my second time here and service is not good, and there was a major mess up with our table with nonsense about who exactly who I talked with about increasing/decreasing my attendees going fro my open table reservation for over 5 mins, even after sitting down. Extremely loud. Because you have a good location, doesn't give you the ability to provide bad service. Remember, people like me also have senior jobs downtown and wouldn't hesitate to share my experience good or bad with another 85,000 people.
Good meal and drinks. Music was too loud
Overall it was nice but the one thing was the music was way too loud. It was difficult to have a normal conversation with the person sitting across from me. Even the server had difficulties hearing our order.
The beet salad barely covered the bottom of the plate and was not enough food. Has no greens. Serving sizes are small. Chicken wings on menu came with beer but the beer didn’t come to the table until the dinner was almost finished. Same with my cocktail. We could not find our waiter when we wanted him. Service was slow. Definitely not worth the price and I will not go back.
We were glad we'd made a reservation. The restaurant was busy at 6:30 on a Saturday evening and we were seated immediately, in spite of the busy entryway. Food was delivered at a good pace and we did not feel rushed. The service was very friendly and we were able to finish with just the right amount of time left to get to the theatre. The portobelo wrap was perfect.
Good location in the theater district. nice menu with a good variety of choices
so noisy could not hear our party at all, service slow and food meh
Menu was completely different than what is online
Dinner after a matinee show. Great ambiance and good service. Will definitely be back.
Very good. Service was also great. Definitely would go back.
There were five of us and no complaints.
Beer came in a dirty glass. Replacement took a considerable length of time. Chicken Tender meal was overcooked. When delivered, it was dark brown. Asked the manager about it and he said it was the panko crust - NOT. It was inedible. Waitress tried to do a good job but was overworked and it took a long time for her to get to her tables.
The food was pretty standard, but the service was incredible. We went with 10 people for a friend’s birthday. The manager went above and beyond to arrange seating for us, and even brought our table a free round of shots to celebrate. One of the best experiences I’ve had in Toronto in terms of excellent service. I would definitely go back!
Cool place close to the theatre. We sat near the fireplace and it’s pretty cool as looks like a library with old books. Service was great but they were running low on things on menu. For example ordered a drink but then was told it’s not offered as they don’t have all the ingredients for it. Ordered a couple of appetizers but then we are told one of them is sold out. Ordered wings with ranch sauce and I get served watered down blue cheese as they ran out of ranch sauce. Then went to order a desert and the one of our choice is no longer available. It’s too bad as it’s a great location and staff are very nice, just they don’t have the stuff to back it up.
We had a nice pre-theatre dinner. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and I liked that the menu had a number of interesting choices at reasonable prices including the draught beer. The noise level was low enough to have a normal conversation but the place was only half full at the time. I would certainly go again.
Setting it nice but not too many food options
Great value for food and drinks! Our server was the best! Thank you Fox!
