Good, but on the expensive side. Good people-watching.
Came here with great expectations as this was hyped as one of the most exciting eating place in Montreal. Hipster place. The restaurant is super dark. We had to put our flash light from our iPhone to see what we were eating. Oysters were fresh and delicious, small 6 inch flat bread(pizza) way over priced. Main dishes we had: the pork and beef, arrived not hot, barely tepid. We counted at least ten people working in front of house. Tepid food is inexcusable. Flavor was good not great.
Good wine list.
Not worth the price.
What a fantastic place! I was a little concerned about only being able to sit at the bar instead of a table, but we had an absolutely wonderful time. Very attentive service, and watching the very skilled bartender was a treat. We had the cashew hummus, the cod and the pork chop. We talked about the food for the rest of our trip. It was one of the best meals we’ve ever had! Go.
Very good food but worth the money? Not sure. Service was attentive, staff knowledgeable and courteous, wine list expensive but quite exhaustive
Amazing meal! Nothing disappointed. One course was better than the next.
One of the best meals I've ever had
Great food and very attentive service. Highly recommend!
The food was very good. Our server was the best. She was attentive, sweet and polite.
This is the 2nd time Ive been to Foxy, and I absolutely love the food there. Simple Menu, great ambiance, excellent for any occasion
Wow! Everything about our meal was divine -- incredible handcrafted cocktails, creative and intriguing appetizers, superb entrees and delicious desserts. Yes, we tried it all, and loved every single bite. We were dining with vegetarian and non-vegetarian friends, and everyone loved their meal. Excellent service, and a very cool vibe.
Great food! Loved the atmosphere and decor.
All the hype is true. Outstanding restaurant worthy of all it’s praise.
Mes deux premières visites à ce restaurant étaient beaucoup plus mémorables
Food well executed but overpriced compared to other similar restaurant.
Food and service were amazing! Will definitely go again.
Was here months ago and had such an amazing time I couldn’t wait to come back. I will most definitely make this a regular visit every time I am in Montreal. The cocktails are phenomenal, very knowledgeable bar team. The hanger steak is mouth watering. We also had the lobster, feta salad, and oysters. All delicious and would highly recommend. Must shout out Daphnee as well, as she’s just so lovely and very professional.
Can’t wait to come back soon, thank you Foxy.
From start to finish this restaurant catered to our every need. I specifically set out to find Montreal gems coming from NYC and being in the restaurant industry as a GM, I can appreciate a beautiful dining experience. The attentiveness of the wait staff and runners, to the maitre’d trying to accommodate me and my girlfriend as I previously requested a view of the entire restaurant in order to post nice pictures for social media.
-Oysters were great.
-Feta maison spread is a must.
-Flatbread was amazingly crisp and tasty.
-Cavatelli pasta spinach corn
-Pork chop - super tender and amazing sweet potato yams under charred and crisp outside and beautifully soft on the inside.
The maitre’d Melanie Boucher was an amazing person to speak to and conversate with and I will definitely be back.
Our waiter that evening, i forgot his name, was an exceptional and attentive waiter with great recommendations for cocktails after.
Thank you once again. We will be back.
Excellent flavors. Interesting dishes and very nice waitstaff. Too dark though (had trouble seeing what I was eating!) snd too noisy.
We were one night in Montreal and chose Foxy based on an article we read. We were so glad we did. Outstanding food. Everything was a taken a step up from the level of good to great. We ordered the flatbread and the shrimp salad (so good I could have ordered it again on the spot) as appetizers and then shared a hanger steak (we asked for rare and we got rare! A rarity these days!) Terrific service. Two quibbles: We sat outdoors and it was so dark we couldn't see our food. I wanted to see what these amazing dishes looked like! The outdoor patio needs lighting (if only to read the menus; not everyone has a cell phone flashlight app!). And the dessert was not up to the standards of the main meal. We ordered the blue berry tart and the crust was unexceptional and the berry filling was more like confiture than berries for a pie (the lemon sorbet that accompanied it was top notch). Not terrible but a let down after the main meal. But those exceptions aside, we couldn't have enjoyed our meal more.
Food and ambiance were fantastic. This was our favourite meal during our week-long vacation.
The food was fantastic. Very creative and tasty. The coquelet is a must. The wine list is long but pricey (not much of anything under $50). Overall fabulous and I would recommend it to a friend!
Belle ambiance mais trop cher pour la qualité des plats !
Very pricy for what we ate. Food was good but not great. For the price the food should have been great. We were disappointed
Arrived in Montreal (first time) for a college visit from Philadelphia. Friends from Ottawa recommended Olive et Gourmando. We had an incredible experience, both food and service. On our way out my son spotted business cards for their other restaurants. After a quick look at their website, we made a reservation for Foxy. Foxy is excellent. We enjoyed the flatbread (dough flavor was excellent - well matured and hydrated), the hanger steak (so so good) and the cavatelli (loved the sweet corn and mushrooms). We did not finish our plates (I do wish the portions were a little smaller, so I could have eaten more of the menu) and the GM (?) arrived and asked it all was okay. We had to explain that we had not stopped eating (Montreal's food scene is amazing) since we arrived and that everything was excellent. And yes, we ordered dessert. The dessert was a pavlov-ie thing with mascerated cherries, ice cream and dark chocolate. It was a perfect balance of sweet, bitter and tart. Loved it. Service was exceptional. They know their wine. Gorgeous spot. I cannot wait to return to Montreal. Canada rocks. Please don't build a wall to keep us out.
Excellent all around experience! Food was absolutely delicious, service was genuine and attentive without being overbearing, and environment was warm and comforting with energy.
Was with others, so we ordered at least half of the carefully curated menu and we were very pleased with every item. Wine was terrific, although we bought the last bottle of Montrachet and wanted another (which I realize is not an issue for which I know we won't get a lot of sympathy!").
Pizza was delicious. Tomatillo tequila is genius. Rest of food was way over seasoned with salt. Too bad
This restaurant came highly recommended by someone in the industry. The food, ambiance, and service were outstanding. We spilt and enjoyed the feta appetizer, half lobster, seabass entree and a bottle of wine. We also highly recommend the restaurant and would definitely come back.
Our experience at Foxy was outstanding. Our sevice was exceptional and friendly, and the cuisine was an amazing confluence of woid grilled fish, vegetables and beef with a delightful Mediterranean flair.
Wonderful restaurant in a city of wonderful restaurants! Flavors and textures all came together. Smoked eggplant and homemade feta, roasted cauliflower. They encourage sharing although they don’t push. We were 5 and we shared—it was great! Server Simon was funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
Absolutely amazing. Every single plate was delicious.
Horrible service. We were told only after we ordered that we may need to leave the table early. Then they came back to tell us they fixed the issue by placing the second party on the terasse. But then without any warning and before we finished eating they brought us the bill and told us because it started raining they needed the table for the people sitting on the terasse. We said we were willing to accommodate and squeeze as we were only taking up half the table. We even spoke with the manager but she was the most useless one. She was condescending and rude. We are a group of foodie friends that get together once a month or so to catch up and this is not the first time we go to foxy but it will definately be the last.
Such an amazing restaurant. Tables are quite close to each other so you get really comfortable with others very quickly. One of the top 2 steaks I have ever eaten (and I have eaten a lot in some very nice restaurants). Definitely go there.
Very, very overpriced. Food was good but not $50 for a plate good. Menu on here must not be recent because their prices are 15-$20 more expensive at the restaurant. Server was knowledgeable but pushy, which made it hard to make your own food choices. Hummus was very delicious, and nice fresh vegetables, but very little options for vegans or people with food allergies.
An amazing dinner, our favorite on our trip to Canada! Friendly, knowledgeable bar tender and inventive, wonderful flavor combinations... don’t miss the roasted cauliflower. We will be back!
We were vacationing in Montreal and this by far was my favorite meal in this foodie city. We liked it so much, we came back a second time on our vacation! We ordered the flatbread, cauliflower, hummus and the pork-chop. Ya'll that pork-chop though. The flavor combination of the sides and the slight wood fire flavor of the chop. I would happily eat that as my last meal. Thank you Foxy'!
Everything about Foxy is awesome. Staff know their stuff, great ambiance, awesome food! Open kitchen, loved watching the chef and cooks. Food is amazing, all local ingradients. Prices are very reasonable. They give enough on a plate to satisfy, not like other restaurants that give a little taste. Cooked on charcoal and in wood burning stove. Will definitely be back. Must try!
Delicious food. Attentive service. sat on the street-side patio on a lovely summer night. Best meal we had (by far) while visiting Montreal. These flavours did not, however, come cheap. Nonetheless I'd unreservedly recommend Foxy for those looking for a truly fantastic dining experience. Perhaps my spouse and I will leave our 13 & 15 year old (and their appetites) back at the hotel with an ordered-in pizza next time we visit!
Reserve your seating, because it’s worth it. Order 2 appetizers, because it’s worth it. If you’re craving the market price steak, split it with someone because it’s worth it. Whatever special seasonal dessert the server offers, get it, because it’s worth it.
enjoy your time at Foxy, because it’s...well, you already know by now.
Good food. However, a little bit expensive compare to other similar restaurants.
