Frankie's Jazz Club
Dinner: Wednesday - Sunday: 8:00pm - 11:00pm
Great service, consistently good food, however the sound mix for the live music was not up to the high standard we expect at Frankie's and as a result we were quite disappointed.
The BC salmon, and prongs were the best we've ever eaten. the service from our waitress was Exquisite and very professional.
I'm looking forward to my next visit thank you.
Job well done!
We had a great meal , the table was perfect the serving staff attentive and the band was awesome . It was such a pleasure to be at a venue where the expectation was that the audience was there to listen , thank you thank you! We will return. Well worth the trip over from the island . Wendy and Bob
Service is friendly and prompt. Great live music venue. Loves the ambiance.
The Jazz venue is very good; jazz lovers should really appreciate this place. They have a noise policy that means "no talking while the musicians are playing" and real music lovers will really appreciate this. The food was OK, but not spectacular. The serving staff we excellent.
Frankie’s is a wonderfull Jazzclub. Of course the music depends on who’s playing. I went to the Noah Preminger Quartet. 4 musicians trying to get the most out of themselves, but not really capable of bringing more out of it playing together than there individual qualities. That was a pity. Wonderfull food, and an excellent service!
Hard to find great live music, combined with dinner and a nice setting under one roof but Frankies has accomplished that. Highly recommended
Great club/atmosphere to hear jazz which was our readon for going. Lovely meal also. Wine pricey.
Excellent service, delicious food & a great jazz band. No better way to spend an evening.
Excellent music, attentive service, very little food for the prices.
Great music and live performance space. A comfortable, romantic room with efficient and friendly service!
Really enjoyed the visit to see Brad Turner Trio play. The crowd was a little thin for such a great trio of players, but that meant we were able to choose seating with the best view. The food (calamari) was very good, the ambiance was quiet, respectful to the musicians. So glad to have a jazz club in downtown Vancouver! Please keep up the good bookings, best of luck with the not-always-easy job of running a club that specializes in jazz.
Very good food, great Jazz quartet & a very friendly server. A very good evening.
I was there with my boyfriend for a fun date - Jazz night. So I was very surprised that the food were so good. I would totally recommend the Risotto Funghi, better than any of the risotto I've had in Italy. And also make sure to get the tiramisu, too. I am excruciatingly picky about tiramisu and had many in Italy, but Frankie's makes one of the best tiramisu I've ever had! Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Like most people who frequent Frankie’s, we are there for the music. This is a music, mainly jazz, venue that has a policy of no noise so the patrons can enjoy the music without having to listen to discussions happening around them. This is also a venue that welcomes under 19 patrons. The wait staff are very very personable and well informed. They definitely enjoy their job. The food is mainly Italian and offers up pastas, pizzas and other well known Italian dishes. If you are a jazz fan and want to listen to some of Canada’s finest musicians plus great guests, this is the place to be.
Superb Jazz in a nice location with a great Quartet. Service was extremely good and very skilled. We had really fun this night and would definitely recommend this Jazz Club. I would love to come again on another visit to Vancouver.
Great concert with Carman J. Price and Jennifer Scott
I got charged six dollars for a tiny piece of salmon on a salad....not good value
Very disappointed. Overall bad management and the food is average. Wouldn't reccomend or go back. Reservation was incorrect at the start of the evening, and went downhill from there, from a rude hostess and poor service.
We had a wonderful time, a great spot for jazz, creative cocktails, unforgettable dessert and the food was delicious !
Server was outside for a lengthy period of time and I needed her assistance. Finally another staff came to the rescue. Also said server was in her table customer's faces too much - her casual demeanour came across as unprofessional and ungenuine having been a server there for so long.
We had an excellent evening with friends, listening to world-class jazz (Bruno Hubert Trio) and sipping great wine. The service was impeccable and so accommodating, as our group changed in number first from small to larger to smaller again. Each change was met with good humour and professionalism by the staff and we managed to get great seats in front of the stage. The ambiance and acoustics of the room were fantastic. Great evening, thanks!
Great!! Bria Skonberg and her band really ran the gamut.
Food is horrible, seating is not good. Need to update the place
We specifically came to see Bria Skonberg. I am one of her former high school music teachers so it was a real treat to see her in person again at Frankie's. We enjoyed the performance , the atmosphere and the excellent food.
Great jazz show. Pasta was quite good, not spectacular but reasonable value.
Great jazz, and the food is reallyt quite good. And the service is excellent.
Superb food & great jazz (Larry Fuller Trio)...booked at last minute and Frankie's was very accommodating and got us super seats!
Great venue fot live Jazz music. Food is very good. Friendly staff great atmosphere.
A great effort by Cory Weeds and Coastal Jazz to bring in the Larry Fuller Trio. A notable and "name act." I'm not an expert, but Vancouver seems to be something of a backwater for live music like this. I'm glad that a place like Frankie's exists. It's important to support it.
Vancouver is a crashing bore for music so it’s refreshing when a good jazz act comes in. Frankie’s is hit or miss with acts but if you find the right group is a worthy place. Great food too!
Great but post blocked the view of the stage. Thanks.
Went to Frankies Jazz Club with a couple of friends and we had a great evening. It has a nightclub vibe and they put on wonderful jazz shows. We saw a super young jazz singer, Tia Brazda, and her accomplished band. Frankies serves authentic Italian food. We had a lovely pasta and seafood dinners with Caesar salads tossed with housemade delicious dressing. Good wine and cocktail list too.
Rudy Petschauer was a music student of mine at Eric Hamber Secondary in Vancouver.
He was an excellent percussionist throughout his five years, anchoring the stage band and jazz ensemble as well as smaller groups. I've followed his music career and was delighted to take in his concert here at Frankie's. My colleague had a salad she really liked. I'd had an early dinner so enjoyed a few Fat Tug IPA's!!
Band got progressively hotter ... too early when it ended at 1030! Amazing musicians!
This is an excellent venue for listening - yes, actually listening - to live music. The Quietness policy emphasizes this. If you want to get together with a bunch of friends and have a boisterous good time swapping stories, this is NOT the place. But if you want to catch some excellent musical professionals, particularly jazz artists, in a setting where you can hear and see them perform, without distraction, Frankie's is among the very best that you could possibly find. The intimate ambiance, very good food and excellent service add to the enjoyment of the evening. Having just discovered it, my wife and I plan to go back often.
Food is ok, but pricey for what it is. On the other hand we paid only $30 per person for the seeing the band, which was a steal. Another gripe is that you can be seated in places where you can't see the band play, which sucks a bit. That happened to us but we're early enough that we complained and they changed us, but other people weren't as lucky.
The band we saw and sound of the place was great, plus the policy for diners to be quiet is fantastic. We wouldn't come here just for the food, but depending on the band playing it is definitely worth it.
I come here often for live jazz. Food is good and service usually, but this time service was not as good and the seatting was poor although I made reservations two weeks in advance.
Honoured our requested seating - inclusive - favourite place in the city for music
Went for a Live Jazz event. Had an amazing time. For the price of the food, I would of expected better quality.....but overall, had a great time!
