    For the week of December 11-15, Gallery Grill sets aside its usual a la carte menu and offers a three-course prix fixe menu devised by Executive Chef Marco Tucci to celebrate the culinary delights of the holiday season. Chef Marco's menu runs the gamut of comforting winter fare, both olde-school and new: from traditional Roast Turkey, Red Wine Braised Lamb Shank, and Maple-Glazed Salmon, to plant-based Three Sisters Ragu with Wild Rice & Anciant Grain Pilaf.     My friend and i have celebrated our birthdays at the Gallery Grill for many years. We usually have the same waitress (Donna,) who remembers us each time. This time the restaurant was full and the wait staff was rushed off their feet; I was waiting for an accident to happen. We were seated next to a table of six people who were extremely loud with big, noisy outbursts of laughter; it made it difficult for the two of us to carry on a conversation. The place was full, so there was no other table that we could have been moved to. I think the people were regulars because several times one of the wait staff chatted with them. As always we enjoyed the food, but the behaviour at the next table did affect our enjoyment of our special lunch, Therefore the 4 star rating instead of 5. Linda Bissinger

    Market greens were basic greens with minimum garnish, perhaps a $2 food cost. Salmon on the side was nicely cooked but lacked and flavour and was small. $8 if you want some bread for this meagre meal.

    My husband Bill died 4 years ago. I don't know how you got his name. I'm Jane. Excellent service, very good food, love Hart House, Gerry, maitre d' is first class, & found a treasured ring I lost while there. He's the best! Jane Martin.

    This is a lovely restaurant for special gatherings. The selection of the menu, presentation of the food and the service are excellent. The food that is prepared fresh on site very good. However, the salmon, for example, is pre-frozen and is not cooked at the standard expected of a restaurant in a university that prides itself on excellence. If all of the food on the menu were freshly made, this would be a truly wonderful restaurant.

    I had the burrata dish. I want to try the dish because I didn't know the cheese. The cheese was virtually tasteless, and looked like a poached egg. The server should have asked me if I knew the cheese, and then describe the dish. I have had other dishes at the Grill, and they were very good. The burrata dish does not belong on the menu.

    Fantastic lunch with friends. Our server, Brian, went above and beyond. He's a gem. Had corn and zucchini cake with salad - outstanding. Affogato with chocolate sorbet was refreshing! We will be back in the fall. Thank you.

    The menu is very appealing, the food is beautifully prepared and presented, and the staff could not be more attentive or friendlier. I miss the paintings which have been replaced with what appear to be boring white baffles. Tapestries or carpets would probably suppress the noise level while providing warmth, colour, character and delight for the eye.

    I wouldn’t say service was slow however, I was at lunch meeting and of course i had a hard stop which restricted me to enjoy lunch/ambiance. But overall good for me

    Excellent, delicious brunch, beautifully and professionally served, in an amazing setting. Mothers Day brunch was exceptional, and I was sorry to learn it is only open for weekday lunch now. Please reopen Sunday brunch again, perhaps beginning in Sept. Thank you!

    I was recently there for the Mother’s Day Brunch and have eaten a few lunches there over the years the food is always delicious and the service is always attentive. Not a cheap meal, but the prices are in line with other restaurants and a great value for the freshness and quality.

    A reunion of friends of fifty years, celebrating spring birthdays, we were delighted to dine in the elegant surroundings of The Gallery Grill. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the room, as always, elegant. All graduates of U of T, we were happy to come together again in such a memory-filled environment. Thank you to the staff for making our time so enjoyable.

    The Gallery Grill is located within the historic Hart House at the University of Toronto. It is a great place for lunch, whether for business or a celebration. Menu is inventive and features local ingredients and wines. Great service from an experienced staff. Lively but relaxed.
