We came for our friends birthdays and the service was outstanding. They had great good, music and staff. It was out first time here and could not have enjoyed it any better. We will definitely coming back and this is definitely the best korean BBQ you can find in Austin.

We enjoyed celebrating my daughter’s birthday there. Service was great! Restaurant was clean. Everything tasted delicious. Only thing I would say is clean up the table after bringing raw meats. Other than that it was a perfect evening. Thank you for making my daughter’s celebration a memorable one!

We celebrated a birthday on a Saturday evening . The staff was very attentive, the dining room was spacious and had a great ambiance. The food was very tasty! My only suggestion is if the meats and marinades could be labeled or if the waiters would identify them at the table, it would be a great help.

We came back for my son’s birthday and brought with us a big party this time. We had a blast the first time we went here, but our 2nd time was even better! Let’s start with service—our big group didn’t faze them and our table was ready the moment we checked in (we had a reservation). We had a main server, Joji, and other secondary servers who were all equally approachable and were so quick to revert with our orders. But Joji took the brunt of our requests and she was so amazing and patient! We also loved all of her recommendations—all were delicious! We made it to dessert this time, and it was our first time trying Korean desserts and they were yummy! The staff even came together to sing a happy birthday song to my son and I loved their energy and positive attitude. As for the food—we got to try more meats this time, thanks to Joji’s guidance and we’re so glad we trusted her experience. We loved the hand-rubbed steak, kalbi, etc. We also appreciated that the owner himself walked over to check in on us and make our guests feel comfortable. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we just can’t wait to go back!

For what the experience is - it’s amazing! You have to be okay with a noisy environment and the smell of food everywhere! However, I’d ton know what you’re getting into then it’s an amazing experience! The service was so fast and everyone was so nice/accommodating! I would absolutely go back and highly recommend for large groups / birthday parties.

This was my first Korean BBQ experience, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Our server Allen did a fantastic job answering all of our questions and made our dinner run smoothly! The quality of our food was great and the overall ambiance was lovely. Will definitely be returning.

Gangnam is fun! this was my second time around and I must say it improved tremendously this second time around. Food came out very fast upon ordering my server was very helpful in helping me order. After this experience I will definitely come back with friends.

Duhan was really attentive and kept the food coming at all times! The meats were all flavored to perfection. Yes, you do have to cook the meats yourself, but that is the joy of this place. Cooking BBQ with loved ones while having great service makes for an excellent experience. Definitely recommend

Gangham was good but it could have been better. Being a first timer at a korean BBQ I needed guidance and the "what to do's" but I wasn't given any instructions I kind of had to figure out what to do on my own. My server wasn't that energetic to throw instructions or food ideas my way. Overall, I think I would have had a better, fun experience if my server was a little more energetic and gave me a guide of what to do.

The need to do better at explaining the menu and what the price offers. Although we appreciated Metin our waiter there was just so many things coming at us and we didn't know what was included vs what we need to pay extra. VERY loud music so if you like a hyped up techno vibe scene then this place is for you. Meats were all good just long downtimes between orders as the limit just like the other Korean bbq places. Drinks meh. . . just another twist on a lame for the same drinks.

Confused about our reservation, we thought I made the reservation one week in advance. We were seated at a table that was shared with a young family, not a problem at all. Salad, if you can call it that, was just lettuce in a bowl. And sides were promptly served from a cart they wheel around the restaurant. And then no Omer ever came back to our table, not to show us how to access the menu, not to take our drink order, nothing. People on both sides of us were served promptly with minutes of sitting down. After 25 minutes of waiting with no one noticing we were sitting there and unable to stop a restaurant member let them know we had not been helped, we walked out. Music is way to loud, like obnoxiously loud, why? Turn it down.

Great space and ambiance, nice employees, and the food selection is amazing. From beef belly to beef tongue, fish, squid, pork, NY Strip, Lamb Chops and more. Newer servers so maybe a little slow on taking orders for more meat, but absolutely amazing experience

We had a 9:45 reservation but they were closing when we walked in. It was still quite crowded. The host approached us and said “we stopped seating people at 9pm. After 4 or 4 employees debating whether to seat us or not, I had to loudly interrupt and say, we don’t want to be seated and be rushed through $200 meal. It didn’t appear that we would have gotten kind service from employees arguing with their manager, who appeared to be owner/operator. He said he would give us 20% discount next time we came. I’m not so sure that was the best resolve. I am a retired owner operator and my first born is a top chef GM runs a high end restaurant. Either one of us would have gifted the entire next meal. Its all you can eat Korean BBQ. I’ve never had a problem with any other Gangnam. Luckily we know that 888 would be happy to seat us right up to their closing time and serve us promptly. Obviously Gangam needs to check their reservations and contact this platform and Google and fix their websites to say: WE STOP SEATING AT 9pm

I am so glad a new Korean BBQ restaurant is open in south Austin! For those that live south of Austin it is truly a trek to go anywhere with a Korean BBQ grill. The ambiance is very lively, fun, new, and clean! The service was overall good and the welcome was very warm. The owners and management really make you feel welcomed for coming! A few tips: You can reserve a table on OpenTable. For dinner you can order up to 3 meats and 3 sides at a time (for larger groups I am not sure if they may allow more). It's all you can eat but the time limit is 2 hours, which is a standard time frame for most places. Our favorite meats were the Hawaiian Beef and the Rib Fingers. So so so good!!! Their kimchi was very delicious and not too spicy. The seaweed salad was chef's kiss!!! So good! Now...the reason why I rated this place as 4 stars is that it misses the mark on a few classic Korean BBQ items...For example Japchae and steamed egg was not what we had expected. The Japchae was missing flavor and more noodles. The steamed egg was well done it was more like an omelette. Will I be back here? I think so! The location is wonderful for us south of Austin foodies. But I will definitely consider this place more for lunch spot versus dinner for the cost to Korean BBQ expectations that it met.
