   I went to celebrate my friend’s Birthday. The service was great. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The food was great. We had pizza, dessert cannoli and raspberry gelato. It wasn’t crowded. Definitely go again

   The food was expensive for what they serve you. The taste was sub par. We had to ask for a glass of wine 3 times b4 we gave up and ordered a beer. I don't know if the waitress had too many tables and was busy ir she just didn't hustle enough. We were not impressed at all. Bring back Macroni Grill. The only thing we enjoyed was the live music.

   Food was okay, for the price points it didn’t taste amazing. Food took a long time to come out and it was like warm and soggy. Service was awful I was not getting refills on drinks without asking and this was for water. Waiter was nowhere to be seen, and rarely checked on us. The restaurant was not that busy so staffing was not an issue. I was not even told to have a good night when exiting the restaurant. The staff was friendly but more interested in what they had going on as opposed to helping customers. Big disappointment.

   Food was good but service was lacking. One of our main dishes came out before the appetizer and the bread. Restaurant was not super busy but our kids pizza which was placed for first took the longest to come out.

   Overall liked it, service was slow when we wanted to order. Food was delicious, we were there on a Sat and sat right next to the live music so it became hard to have a conversation. Planning on returning to try other menu items.

    Atmosphere was ok, tables are kind of cramped together. Was very easy to make reservations. Food: Bread was good, calamari was tasty but very greasy, ceasar salad was simple and light with toasted breadcrumbs on-top which was yum. Had the ravioli which was tasty with marinara, also ordered the Margarita pizza which was good. Overall it’s a 7 out of 10 for the food. I’ll order different items next time. Service was pretty bad 5 out of 10, but it’s understandable seeing as it’s only been open a few weeks. I’ll give it another shot in a month or so.

    Has potential to very nice. Very noisy /busy do to personal party. although it was pleasant to have music. Appetizers and drinks were good. Entrees were kinda bland. Hoping for more flavor.

    I would not recommend this place. We had reservations for 6 pm and were seated at 625. Our waiter was polite but hardly checked up on us. Food quality was poor, dry and not very tasty. Pizza was soggy.and not fully cooked. I was really anticipated an excellent time due to the reviews, but sadly I would not recommend.

    We have been waiting for this restaurant to open since 2020 when Macaroni Grill closed their doors. Highly recommend reservations, especially on a Friday night. It is very loud due to poor acoustics, and a lot of tables. The design is new and fresh. The food was delicious, drinks good, and dessert (Tiramisu) was amazing. We highly recommend their spinach salad. All our dinners were very tasty.

    The quality is the food was exceptional. The grilled octopus was very flavorful; however, it was a little tough. The oysters were delicious. The calamari was exquisite. The spinaci salad was very, very good. The live music was entertaining and contributed to the great ambiance. Food is everything, but it is not the only thing. The service was terrible. The server had to be reminded several times to bring things (drinks, straws, bread). It was very disappointing. I would still return. Hoping for a better overall experience.

    New hit spot for Eastlake/OTAY Ranch area, they are working out the kinks in service. Nice staff but inexperienced, slow and a bit sloppy.

    We had a reservation for 6:00 pm, but were seated at 7:00 pm after spending an hour at the bar. Fortunately, they offered us a drink while we waited. The thing that bothered us the most was that while we were waiting for our table, other people arrived after us and were seated before us. The menu does not reflect the name of the restaurant, "Garbatella," which is a neighborhood in Rome, as there are only two Roman dishes on the menu: Arrabbiata and Carbonara. All the other dishes are the classic ones that you can find in any Italian restaurant in San Diego / USA. The quality of the ingredients was good, but nothing extraordinary. It's a shame because a really good Italian restaurant was missing in Chula Vista. Opportunity lost. Hopefully, the restaurant can improve their menu and management in the near future.

    I will try this restaurant again after they are open for awhile. I think they have a few growing pains to work through. Some of our plates came out not as hot as they should’ve and all meals did not come out at the same time. Server was friendly and helpful. Musics started out at the proper conversation level but then got too loud. I will try again in a few months.

    Great server, fast and friendly. Our table was right in front of the music, which was a little loud, would have been appropriate to ask if we wanted to be close to the band before seating us there. 3 of 4 dishes were really good, one pasta had way too much oil, the salmon and prawns dish was excellent! Overall it was a good night, and great to have another independent restaurant in Otay Ranch!

    Very nice restaurant, staff still needs help learning table numbers, we kept getting food we didn’t order and then charged for it. They were apologetic for the over charge but the restaurant wasn’t busy at the time for such a mistake.

    I took my parents there for their 47th wedding anniversary. The place is really cute and the food is okay. My issue is with the service. After the waitress took our order, she never came back. As the food was coming out, we were stacking plates in the corner because nobody was picking them up. After our main course we waited a bit, before flagging another waitress down for the check. She dropped it off and ran off. We waited a while longer before we flagged down some guy in a suit and asked him to please charge us because we really had to go. He asked us how our meal was and we explained that the meal was good, but the service- not so much. Nobody offered us more drinks or even dessert. He gave us a generic apology and we left. We won't be back. There are plenty of other places that have better food & service.

    If it wasn’t for the menu I would have thought this was a Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was cold, we didn’t get that warm and fuzzy feeling when you go to an Italian restaurant. It’s modern yet the ceiling light fixtures tell a different story. The service was par, the wait staff seemed nervous and unapproachable. It took someone a while to come over to take a drink order and then once placed the drink order came separately, the wine came first the margarita came separate. The cab that costs $19 was horrible we’ve had a Justin for that price that was so much better. The margarita the cucumber ginger was lacking in taste. The red pepper hummus was decent, but the focaccia was barely warm and salty. The spinach salad was a good size and was good. The arbiriatta sauce was spiced just right. The confuse thing was it wasn’t clear if you could pick the pasta. In lieu of desert we elected to have espresso and a latter. The latte came warm and not hot. My biggest disappointment the wait person spoke Spanish, I do not speak Spanish and took offense. I didn’t realize I needed to say No habla espaniol. Needless to say we will not return.

    It was a 16th birthday celebration for my grandson, and Garbatellas provided the perfect festive atmosphere with live music, outstanding service and delicious good. My grandson's Sebastian pizza with pesto sauce was delicious, my daughter's pasta with Italian sausage was very flavorful and my whole branzino fish was cooked to perfection with crispy skin, flaky fish inside, and topped by a salad of arugula!

    I was very disappointed in the service and the food. Our waitress did not pay attention to us at all. Our order was messed up at least 3 times. The steak was burnt, I wish I had taken a picture but by then I just wanted to leave. The lack of service, attention, quality food and overall experience was so poor. I don’t think this pls e will last. It’s not because it is new. I will not be back.

    Been here multiple times now, we’re trying to taste as many different dishes and pizzas andas possible. Everything has been great and even service keeps getting better and better. Love this place!

    Had to order 3 times the kids menu. Had to order 2 times my son’s beverage which was never brought but charged on the bill. When I asked the waiter for the bill, he just told me the total amount, I asked that I wanted to see the detailed bill, and really mean and with an attitude, he threw the terminal to the table. Also bread was brought to the table without asking, and it was also charged. The Macaroni and Grill restaurant that used to be before this restaurant was much more better. Never going back.

    Awesome food. Chefs don’t listen to wait person. Asked for time between salads and entrees. Entrees brought to the table while still enjoying the salads. Dined on a Saturday night. Wasn’t aware that Garbatella’s featured live music on Saturday nights. We were seated in front of the speakers. Could not have a conversation without leaning across the table. Service was not great. Had to ask the hostess to get the wait person so we could have some freshly grated cheese for our entrees. Hopefully the kinks will get worked out. The food was worth the stumbles. Definitely worth giving Garbatella’s a second chance.

    Overall a great experience. My family & I tried the restaurant since it’s new in our area. There are a lot of people when we came in, it’s Friday night & everybody wants to try the new restaurant. We had a reservation so we didn’t have to wait that long. They need chairs for people who are waiting though. The food is great & love how they designed the place. I will definitely come back.
