Perfect seafood Paella and seafood Pasta, very tasty!
Delicious freshly prepared food! We will definitely be back, soon!! Cozy and inviting atmosphere. We are fans of South American food, and this restaurant did not disappoint!
AMaxing food and service. The sangria was really good.Paella and shrimp and steak dishes were all good.
I moved from Grosse Pointe 3 years ago but came back to visit some friends. I think this is one of the unique and special treasures in the area. I was very pleased to be able to get a reservation. The food is spectacular. And she now has a liquor license which makes it all the more pleasant to have some wine with dinner. Highly recommend this place!
Garridos is one of our favorites. It was so yummy and I was impressed with the way they are handling covid precautions. I would definitely go again.
As always the food was delicious. We had one of the Arepa sandwiches and the Peruvian steak stir fry. So flavorful. Had not dined in for awhile - the new decor is handsome. Vanessa is always so friendly and professional.
Excellent Service, very patient, answered questions, eager to please. Unique menu, excellent food. Had a great time and would return. Very small venue so definitely make a reservation. The woman that waited on us, I believe was the owner was amazing and was obviously doing multiple jobs but you would never, ever know it. two thumbs up.
Mussels appetizer and Paella entree fully recommended. Every entree is delicious and you cannot skip the churros or quesillo for dessert
I absolutely love ❤ this restaurant and all its Venezuelan flavor. Fabulous drinks and awesome food!
Everything was great. Lots of leftovers too!
One of our favorite spots and our first time dining in their new dining area. It was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. Can’t wait for our next visit!
We ordered the plantain appetizer; the chicken bowl and the black bean bowl. Both meals were excellent. I’ve never had a bad meal at Garrido’s. The staff is friendly and the Chefs are amazingly talented and creative.
I can’t say enough good things. I normally don’t write reviews but we just enjoyed it so much. The food was so good! The plantain nachos were amazing and the staff is friendly and very helpful when asking questions about the menu and helping you pick out something you would like. We will definitely be back.
The white sangria was amazing, and wonderful refreshing flavors and delicious pieces of fruit. We also loved the plantain chips but they got soggy fast. Maybe a suggestion to have them separate from the beans, etc. The stroganoff was wonderful with a fair taste of mushroom. All the food would be highly rated, except I thought the paella wasn’t as authentic as it could have been. I could not taste any saffron and the rice didn’t hold up well.
You are not going to find friendlier service in any restaurant on the planet. The food was also amazing. The red sangria was delicious. If you haven't been here, you need to. You have to have reservations and I heard them tell a walk in customer that they also had a very long take out line. I can see why. Their food is amazing. We had Paula's dream salad, we each had an arepa and shared the coconut flan. I can't rave enough about how delicious everything was.
I love this place, food is fantastic, staff is phenomenal and worth the drive!!
Thank you for a great Birthday celebration.
Staff was excellent. They went out of their way to give us a great dining experience. Food was very good. It was our 1st time there, & staff’s recommendation for entrees were perfect. We will definitely go back.
Service and food were excellent!
Amazing food!!!! I have been here three times for breakfast, milkshakes and dinner - all were outstanding experiences!
The food was DELICIOUS and the staff was great.... very nice atmosphere
Excellent service and food 👌 Would recommend over and over!!!!!
The food, staff, and atmosphere were outstanding.
Food had wonderful flavor and the portions were great! It was different but not too much that a picky eater would not like it We have been here 2 times now, we brought family from AZ, they were very impressed!
Liked the new look inside. Food was great
Another spectacular dinner experience here! There were 8 of us and everyone loved everything. You get so much amazing food for the experience dinner, and it’s all spectacular. We would be here every single weekend if it weren’t so far away! Highly recommend!
The food was absolutely amazing, best mussels I have ever had. The drinks were delicious and creative. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Ventured from my usual go-to, Moqueca Shrimp, and tried cucumber-tomato salad & pan seared salmon w/sautéed broccoli … new favorite!!! Dessert of Bailey’s Peanut Butter Boozy shake - ‘natch 💃
We arrived an hour earlier than our reserved time but the staff accommodated us graciously. We ordered the white sangria, two appetizers (tapas and salad) and a beef entree to share. Portions are generous and everything was delicious. The tres leches cake was superb.
Food was absolutely delicious. The service was superb. They give a lot of food for the price, and hence a great value too. They treat you like family.
Quiet, cozy atmosphere.. great for a date! The food is marvelous...we split the Lomo Saltado to get us started until the Paella was done. Both were flavorful... plenty left over for 2 to take home.
Oh and splitting a pitcher of the red sangria... perfect match
Not what it used to be in my opinion. The food doesn’t seem as flavorful as it was before. Booked a reservation for my husband’s birthday hoping to get the fabulous shake they were made famous for. We were there once before and had no issue having the full dining experience. Now apparently, not only do they want 24 hours notice for shakes, they make you have the towering shake experience reservation. This reservation is $50 per person with dinner, appetizer, and the shake. Anyone who has been before knows that would be an enormous amount of food. Plus, $50 per person for two children is rather ridiculous. It certainly wouldn’t be worth $200 for four people. I am very disappointed. I assumed under an ala carte reservation you could order what you wanted. Last observation was my daughter’s burger didn’t come out well done as requested; therefore, she didn’t get to eat with the family. Overall it was over priced and left a lot to be desired. Sadly, we won’t be back.
This place is great! From the food, to the service, to the safety measures, they are doing a wonderful job all around!
I had a fun time with my sisters for my birthday. The waitress was awesome and made sure everything was okay.
Enjoyed the Chef’s Experience which was fabulous. First, the service is wonderful. Very personal and respectful. Now the amazing food: Three courses were served. The appetizers included ceviche, plantains and a type of bruschetta with fire roasted vegetables. The entrees included lamb chops, tenderloin, salad AND paella. Each one was better than the one before. We were almost too full to enjoy the churros for dessert. Can’t wait to go back!
Overall the food is amazing, totally beyond expectation. Only one thing if being picky, the Lomo Saltado is a little salty.
We have been to this restaurant since shortly after they opened (like around 2012 or so). Such a hard working couple are the owners! They sincerely desire to give diners the best in so many ways. Personalized service and charming nuances will set this restaurant apart from others.
we tried some new dishes and they were outstanding. we of course went home w doggie bags!
I wish I could give this restaurant 10 stars, because they deserve every bit of a 10/5. We have been meaning to try this restaurant for years, and I'm glad we did, because even with a 50 minute drive, we have been missing out! We prepaid for the dining experience, where you can choose your own appetizer, 2 main dishes, and a dessert , or you can get the chef's table. We are huge foodies and we love paella, and Vanessa, our waitress and co-owner, was super accommodating about letting us do the chef's table, but also incorporating things we wanted to try. 1. Started with garlic bread- it was amazing... super flavor and just the right amount of crispy. 2. Had the ceviche... delicious... filled with flavor and a huge portion. The tostones were delicious, as well, but after seeing the size of the ceviche, we laid off of those, so we could have room for the rest of our meal. 3. The summer salad was one of the best salads we have ever had... we could literally eat that all day. It is so refreshing and light, while bursting with flavor. 4. The paella was loaded with seafood and HUGE. Every bite had seafood in it, and it was delicious! 5. The steak and lamb chops were cooked to perfection. The lamb chops were some of the best we have ever had... like melt in your mouth amazing. 6. The chocolate molten cake and ice cream are a perfect dessert... many restaurants make it too sweet, but this wasn't... and the ice cream was so smooth and delicious too. We were stuffed, but couldn't let this deliciousness go to waste. 7. Even the cappuccino was delicious!!! We took a ton of food home and we can eat, so anyone that thinks the portions are small is far from our experience. The price for the experience is so reasonable for what you get, that this would be a weekly stop for us if they were closer. I'm a sucker for mom/pop places, who put their passion into their food, and this place surpassed all of our expectations! We can't wait to be back and bring all our friends!
