A friend and I decided to have a mom’s night out and schedule a reservation at Gather. Right from the start, our server Vic was not attentive. She seemed like she was uninterested in serving us. It was about 15-20 minutes from the time Vic poured our water, until the time she came to check to see if we were ready to order. My friend asked if a modification could be made to the Short Rib pasta, as she had dietary restrictions. She asked to have another sauce on the noddles. Vic checked with the kitchen and confirmed it could be done. She did not make mention that yes, they would do this however she would be charged $25 for noddles and pesto sauce. My guest ordered a drink before the entrees were served, and the drink arrived after she had taken her last bite of her entree. Before I was even finished my entree, Vic came by with the desert menu - we felt as though she was rushing us out the door. We finally got the bills (after flagging down another waitress). After we settled up, my guest noticed the price of the pasta, and inquired with Vic about it - who said “well, the noddles are hand-made and the cheese is expensive to too” but that she would check with her manager. After she came back and confirmed that she would be charged $25 for noodles and pesto, my guest commented on the slow service, to which Vic made a comment about how busy it was (which, it was not - there were a lot of open tables and a lot of staff around). As a working professional and parent with limited free time, I will not be choosing to spend it at Gather.

We enjoyed our small plates but thought the choices could have been more interesting. The venue was much too loud to be able to carry on a conversation between three people. Our server did have them turn down the background music but it was still difficult to hear and that took away from the experience. ( full disclosure, I do wear hearing aides, but my friends don’t and all agreed that it was difficult to hear). Service was very good.

The ambience is so lovely in the evening - soft lighting and a cozy atmosphere. This is my 4th time at Gather (twice for lunch and twice for dinner). The dining area can get noisy at times but not to the point where you have to yell at your fellow diners. The service was great - though I think our server may have had too many tables to oversee that night. He was a bit ‘slow’ - to the point where you notice and think he forgot about you - but then appeared again. Like I said, I think he was just overseeing too many tables that evening. The food is fantastic and our server took the time to highlight what ingredients came from their own grown garden.

FOOD was awesome! Wine prices are a little on the higher side but the quality was there. A great place for special occasions.

Very nice experience at this lovely restaurant. Service was great and ambience was relaxing and elegant. Food was good. Had the risotto and their salad with seared tuna. We especially enjoyed the grilled foccacia bread. Would love to return and try some more of their other dishes.

The service staff could use more training. I should not have to ask first my wine glass to be refilled, while they are standing at the table asking me if everything is okay. Dishes from one course should be removed before the next course is brought out. Finally I had to ask another server to remove our dirty dishes after we were done. We waited almost 20 minutes for another dishes server to remove our dishes.
