Gauchos are the cowboys of South America – a national symbol of pride and tradition. The residents of Rio Grande do Sul, a Brazilian state, are affectionately referred to as “Gauchos”. This state, renowned for its unique churrasco barbecue, is the birthplace of Chef Edmilson Rodrigues. It is there, in Brazil’s top barbecue houses, that Ede learned and perfected his craft.
Feel transported as ancient Brazilian traditions come alive in our churrascaria –our house of barbecue– and special place that bursts with authentic South American atmosphere and charm.

    First time there! I was not sure what to expect, beautiful atmosphere! At first, my table thought the meat portions were small but there is A LOT of food, we needed a break to catch up on what we were given as they come by quite often with more meat. I would recommend no sides and to go earlier in the day so you have time to digest. We went at 8pm. The bill was a shock to the system with 4 people and 2 drinks. All in all, we all enjoyed ourselves and is a nice treat every year if you are a big fan of meat.

    Wonderfully done meats. Nice to have sides served to the table. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Really heavily oriented to beef. Would have been nice to have more variety - such as more chicken choices, more pork choices and some shrimp for those who don’t eat beef. As well, would have been nice to have pineapple on a skewer so there are charred pieces available for those who love charred pineapple. However, a nice evening and new experience in Calgary.

    This is our feedback regarding our recent experience at this restaurant for the occasion of our daughter’s graduation dinner. While we were looking forward to a fun and interesting evening, we were somewhat disappointed with the service we received. Our waitress was not as welcoming as we had hailed and did not offer any suggestions to enhance our dining experience, especially considering the $70 per person price point for the meal. Additionally, when my wife inquired about a smaller, non meat option, the waitress responded with what we felt was disdain and a degree of rudeness. He words were if you even have one bite of the meat I will charge you the $70 per person, this was after my wife stated she doesn’t eat most meats. We do, however want to commend the gentleman who were serving the various meats, their excellent service and friendly demeanour significantly improved our overall enjoyment of the evening. Literally saved it. Ultimately given the level of service we experienced, especially in light of our nearly $500 bill, it would take a lot to get us to return to this restaurant for another meal.

    The service was great and the food was even better. It was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ dinner. We were celebrating a special birthday as well as showing off our new home to a cherished family member. Gaucho did not disappoint, both the birthday girl and our out-of-town guest felt quite special and left with very full and happy tummies. We will be back!
