    The booking was for my husbands birthday, other than the person seating us who asked whose birthday it was, no other acknowledgement was made, so why ask what occasion? Considering the occasion we didnt have any 'special' seating. The staff however were friendly and professional. The food was ok, nothing exciting or special. It was expensive. They could do much better. Will we be back, NO.

    The steak was so good and cooked to perfection! But the chips was the let down ( if you like chips so much like me), also i left some notes to bring our candles for my husband birthday as a surprise but they forgot till we already paid the bill which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise good service by Juan. Still recommend the place tho if you like an amazing steak.

    Lovely decor, good service but food very mediocre- poor value for money overall. ‘Triple cooked chips’ were quite obviously frozen pre-bought chips that had been cooked and then left on the side for too long (my guess 20 mins or so) before being served; ‘filleted’ sea-bass was full of bones and tasteless; 225g fillet steak was 150g at best; blue cheese sauce didn’t arrive until halfway through dinner (and then only after several prompts) and then there was the wine list. £20 for a 175ml glass of Shiraz. It was nice but really? Total bill for a family of four (including two teens) was £270. Wouldn’t have minded if the food had blown me away but I have honestly had far better meals in Côte and Miller and Carter for half the price.

    500g ribeye very bland more like a rump tbh, I had to cover with salt to get some flavour. Shame really for the price you pay for it.

    An exceptional first visit to Gaucho Cardiff. We had a warm, friendly welcome from the front of house lady who swiftly showed us to our table. Our waiter was equally as friendly and very knowledgeable. His presentation of the different steak cuts and his recommendations truly made our dining experience wonderful. The food was cooked to perfection and the kids menu selection is great too. Drinks menu is extensive and the cocktails are very tasteful and genuine and not full of ice of watered down liquid. Definitely recommend Gaucho Cardiff, excellent experience - 5 stars!!

    There is a terrible fruit fly problem - this really was unacceptable. I killed around 6 and they were never ending. Not what I want when eating out. The pampas grass shed everywhere (in my food, my wine glass & my clothes) It was cold so that my expensive steak was cold, my chips, broccoli and spinach got cold quickly and I tend to eat quite fast, my wife’s food had no heat at all after 10mins.

    We had a really lovely time at Gaucho Cardiff. The food was delicious, the atmosphere as expected from Other Gaucho’s we have visited in London. Our server was very attentive. Will definitely be back!

    The staff was very knowledgeable and made the experience truly unforgettable. The service given by waiter Dominic was first class. Food was also phenomenal, we even managed to save room for a dessert which was absolutely amazing. Already looking forward to my next visit!

    Beautiful decor - feels very fancy for a steak restaurant. Welcoming hosts at the front door. Steak was beautiful and the sides tasted great. When I visited there were a lot of drinks unavailable, and only found this out when ordering rather than knowing before hand. Remember to ask for the wine menu too, it’s not given to you with your food menu or drinks menu.

    Fantastic food and service. Our waitress Valerie was very knowledgeable, attentive and gave amazing service throughout! Steaks were very tender and flavoursome and paired perfectly with the Argentinian wine.

    Went here for a birthday and the staff here were amazing, they definitely made the experience for us. Excellent food, all cooked perfectly and no complaints and the service was brilliant, very knowledgeable of the menu and wine list and couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great time. Our only criticism was the music, a little too lively given its was dinner when we went however, definitely hasn’t put us off and we’ll be re-booking very soon!

    We was left without drinks until even after our food arrived (approx 45 minutes) when our drinks finally came there was a piece of white plastic in my wine resulting in me not having a drink for another 15 minutes. Our food was cold I tried to get someone’s attention but due to us being in our own corner out the way and next to staff table full of water bottles I couldn’t. The waitress come over to our plates full of food still just grabbed the plates and walked away (did not ask if I was finished) when coming back to collect the rest of the plates I expressed we was finished due to it being so cold it was left waiting on the shelf to be brought to us for ages as I was watching the kitchen from my seat and saw it being placed on the serve shelf for over half an hour. The manage come over to speak to us and said he was extremely sorry and will honour us a voucher to come back and dine again and will send over straight away- latest by the end of the night. As expected we never received the voucher via our email. Would NOT recommend to anyone to go there.

    Very nice place with lovely food and wine! Will definitely return but wouldn’t order the mash potato again as it was a little to sloppy for my taste. However, the macaroni cheese is to die for!

    Music to loud, and to much noise , I advise to lower the music that way people doesn’t need to scream to be heard and will become more pleasant to be there, food quality is great but prices are up the roof.

    It’s very expensive for what it is. Our waiter Quan was lovely and very attentive. We were a table of four and one of us had the wrong steak and 2 of us had steak that was over done. A few mistakes were made when asking for condiments etc and when we asked for the desert menu we were left for ages waiting to place the order only for it to arrive late and then get told they need our table and could we be finished in 10 minutes. The decor is nice, very romantic but the music is really loud so affects the ambiance somewhat. Wouldn’t return and there are much nicer places in Cardiff for steak that are cheaper too!

    Right from the start the staff were very attentive. They took the time to explain the menu and gave us time to make our selections. Food was outstanding, I couldn't fault any element of our meal. It was more expensive than I expected with the average cost of a bottle of wine being £40 which was a shock. However I would definitely go back

    Loved the dark cool decor made it cosy even on a wet afternoon. Our waitress Loreen was so nice explained everything so well. Loreen was very attentive without over doing it. Food was delicious looked stunning and tasted delicious. The winning dish was the steak tartare the best I’ve eaten! Wine too easy to drink which is why we ordered a second bottle. Will return soon and hopefully see smiling Loreen again x

    From the time we entered the restaurant until we left, the staff were friendly and very helpful. It was for my birthday that we booked this restaurant and at the end of the meal they brought me out a cake 😍 I would definitely go back.
