The Restaurant itself was nicely furnished with a modern contemporary look. Service was slow, we had to wait for a while in-between meals. Portions was small and you don't get much for your money. It was a birthday celebration and we didn't get any birthday treat (it was mentioned when booked online) whilst the table next to us did have a better service with a birthday cake.

Booked for a 30th birthday at his request. Front of house didn’t acknowledge it was a birthday and didn’t pass on to the waitress. In turn, no acknowledgement throughout and it seemed like everyone else around us at least had an acknowledgement. Sat next to the door and the door kept being left open, which meant wearing a coat throughout. Food ordered as medium rare, came out as rare. Dessert cookie dough was over cooked. I actually felt quite bad for our waitress as she was apologetic about missing the birthday part. A waitress/front of house dropped a slip of paper with someone’s name and description; I can only assume it was for identifying the couple at hand. Made us wonder what description was left for us. Would have been good value for money if everything was okay. Can spend a little bit more elsewhere, and get a more attentive experience. We had a good time but because of the company, not the restaurant. At least he got to experience a rare steak - he did say it tasted good! We would go again (probably not for an occasion) just to see if it was consistent throughout or if it was just the Xmas period that threw everything else off.

Lovely staff, felt well looked after. Fabulous food. Customer service is a biggy for us. We really appreciated our free glasses of Prosecco as we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We will definitely return. Thank you all.

Probably the best steaks we have ever had. Quality of food outstanding. All staff encountered were warm and friendly with Olivia the manager being particularly professional and helpful. The main issue for us to mention would be the entrance way as both doors to the outside kept sticking and staying open ,leaving a cold breeze into the restaurant area. Will definitely be returning.

It was our nans 85th birthday so we all thought we would treat her to a nice meal she loves a steak but doesn't get to go to a restaurant like this often due to the expense to we wanted to treat her. Before writing a review I wanted to just email a few things we were gutted and disappointed about, there were 8 of us dining today at lunch time. We ordered wine 2 of our wine glasses has lipstick we had to ask for new glasses, some of us had starters which were lovely. When coming to our main courses, 4 of us had Sunday lunch we weren't informed that it was just 1 small cauliflower to share between 2, the portion looked as if it was for 1 so we had to get waiters attention to ask for this, 1 of my cousins had a steak and only 1 of her sides came at the same time of her meal so we then had to ask where her second side was and her side sauce too, by the time the extra side and sauce came she had nearly finished about 10 minutes had to wait. We asked for extra gravy which then everyone had finish there Sunday lunch by the time this had arrived which was 20 minutes after asking because food would of been cold if they would of waited. We ordered cocktails in the meantime whilst having food they took over half an hour to come. My cousin came to dine with you last night for her birthday and was asked if they were out for any occasion and she had stated it was her birthday which it was and she was given a free desert, so we mentioned to the waiter that it was our nans birthday please could you do a special desert for her for the occasion and was told just to order her a desert then they would add a candle and happy birthday, we then paid for this. So was just wondering the difference from my cousin last night and my Nan today?Our bill came to nearly £700 with a £70 odd service charge which we had asked to take off as this was not justified unfortunately to the waiter who was serving us, we did tip the waiter as it wasn’t her but just not the 12.50%. Just really disappointing.

We were the first people through the door at 12 noon so I don't think they were entirely ready for us but once they got into gear and our excellent server was with us, we were fine. They were missing a number of items from the menu which was frustrating as at least one missing item was something we hoped to have. What we had however was very well cooked and presented, and tasted great. Value was OK - it's expensive but the quality is good. The venue itself was tasteful, quiet and nicely put together with a premium feel.

The food was amazing and the best steak I’ve had in a very very long time! The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to be thoughtful, brilliant service. One area I thought could have been improved is the bar area was small and the staff were working really hard to get the orders god the tables out and serve the people waiting did their table. There didn’t seem to be enough people to serve at the bar.

The service was brilliant, very friendly staff. The food was top quality, absolutely stunning steaks cooked perfectly. It was great to see the steaks before ordering to give us a better idea of what to have. Overall a lovely experience.

For a steak house the quality of meat was poor my steak a sirloin was medium rare but like chewing gum, not a patch on pasture or even miller and Carter In fairness service and staff were excellent

Had to wait for our table although arrived on time, but it was a busy Friday evening. Service was good and we were well attended. Food was very good but pricey. Quite noisy and tables in close proximity. Overall would recommend, for food and service, but watch the price.

The place is lovely apart from the fact we were sat near the door and it was left open, in result to this it left us literally shivering whilst eating our food. This put us off our food and we didn’t even eat half of it.

My friends first time visiting here, my 5th 😀, we all throughly enjoyed our time there, the steak's were great, scallops amazing. My friends would definitely go again, I’m glad you sat us upstairs. I’ll be back in the new year at some point 👍 Staff very friendly , I prefer here to Pasture easily said! Thanks for looking after us, have a good Xmas & a fab New Year to all the staff x

Service and our waiter Lance was great, the food we ordered however wasn’t great. The steak was tough and the chips weren’t cooked. They were white, why a chef would send that out I’ve no idea, plus served with a cold sauce (chimichuri) why would anyone want a cold sauce served over hot food?! After our feedback we were offered a discount which was appreciated but sadly I won’t be returning. We also found the menu limited.

Went with a frined last night. The food was generally good, though the steaks were expernsive. Service was good. However, the wines were extremely expensive in our opinion, which spoiled what could have been an enjoyable experience. One of the cheapest wines, the one we ordered, was MELODÍAS, WINEMAKERS SELECTION, Malbec 2021, Bodega Trapiche. The bottle cost us £42.50 and can be bought retail for around £10. Thats over a 400% mark up which we think is unacceptable. We enjoy wine very much, and if we are having steak we enjoy drinking wine with it. Unfortunately we wouldnt go to Gaucho again due to the high price of your wine. You really need to offer something (house red, house malbec) which is better value in these difficult economic times, as if you don't you are likely to put people off.

This was our first time at Gaucho and we absolutely loved it. Our server, Zack, was super helpful and patient when explaining the menu and our drink options. Our food was prompt and explained so well, we had a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely amazing and fully reflected the price. Overall, an amazing way to spend our anniversary!

The food was excellent, however the service let it down. Unfortunately, Gaucho Cardiff appears to be below par when comparing with other Gaucho restaurants. After being rushed through our starters and mains, we waited nearly 40 minutes after half our party had received desserts for the dessert cocktails and dessert wine to arrive. We raised concerns with the server and manager on multiple occasions, for the drinks to still not arrive and in the end we opted to cancel the order. Limited choice available on wines with a number of items out of stock. When we entered the restaurant, at least a third of the bar was stacked with empty, dirty glasses (c.50 glasses) - these remained for the entire meal with no attempt from the bar staff to clean these away. There is also a fault with the front door which doesn't close properly which exposes the restaurant to a bitter draft, especially on a cold November night! All in all a pretty disappointing experience.

Easily the best roast dinner I have ever had! We had the unlimited roast and the meat was exceptional. The service was great and I did not feel uneasy asking for more.
