Gautreau's has been a locals favorite since 1983. Local seafood as well as fresh fish from the Northern Pacific and the Atlantic have been featured items for decades. Innovative wine list changes frequently and is filled with well chosen wines from small producers. The restaurant is 3 blocks from St. Charles Avenue and only a 15 minute drive from the French Quarter. The building is in a quaint uptown residential neighborhood with street parking available.

One of our favorite New Orleans restaurants. We dine here at least once a month. The food is great and the service is outstanding. All of the staff are personable yet professional. It always makes for a wonderful evening.

I have been a fan of Gautreau's for years. We hopefully just hit an off night but the food was "meh" at best. Sorely disappointed. I had taken clients and had raved about the restaurant. We were ALL underwhelmed.

Did not come close to meeting our high expectations. Service was slow and unfriendly. Steaks were overcooked. Salads were overdressed. Scallops were soggy. Monk fish was bland. To go bags we’re given to wrong members of our party after staff insisted they be held at the front.

Always great food and great service. One of our favorite New Orleans restaurants. We dine here at least once a month. The owner is very skilled in selecting great, upcoming chefs. And when one moves on to establish a restaurant of their own, he always manages to find a new one equally as good, if not better. In our opinion, the current chef is the best yet.

The restaurant was a historic, warm, and intimate setting for my 50th bday dinner. The staff was top notch- diligent, informed, and kind. They really went out of their way to make me feel special. The food was out of this world! I especially enjoyed the Duck Confit appetizer, the Gulf Shrimp entree, and the Olive Oil cake. We can’t wait to visit again!

This was beyond what we expected. The door to the restaurant was opened and we were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Excellent wine recommendations, the main course was plated beautifully and delicious. The manager came over and we had a chat about the restaurant, very gracious. Every table was full, but yet it was not loud. All locals with some business folks. We truly enjoyed this, and it's a must do for our next visit.

We are long-time regulars at Gautreau’s and always have a great experience and exquisite meal. Patrick always makes us feel welcomed and we appreciate every attention to detail. It took 30 minutes to even see a menu after we were seated. One entree was served with appetizers. When the other entrees arrived 2 hours later, the same one was brought out, and had apparently been under a heat lamp the whole time. Great space, good food- service was a quagmire however.

my reservation sat 5:45. we did not get our meal till 8:30. all the tables around us received food and bill before we were served. I had to flag down my server. This was a business meeting and i will never return.
