Gaylord's at Kilohana
Memorable by day…Unforgettable by Night.
If reservations are not available online, please call us anytime and we will be more than happy to accommodate you!
We didn't get our food until we'd been sitting at our table for over an hour.
Great seating food exceptional for all four of us Very nice music for dining.
We have been to Gaylord's on many previous trips to Kauai which is why we returned. This time we went on our first night there and were served by Dava who was wonderful!! She was so attentive, knew the menu and gave us some great recommendations.
We enjoyed ourselves so much, we returned on our last night on the island which was a Wednesday. Again Dava was our server and we enjoyed every minute. On Wednesdays they have wonderful live music that really made our dinner experience even better.
I would recommend that anyone traveling to Kauai should dine at Gaylord's at least one evening during their stay
We will return to Gaylord's again!
One of our favorite places because the food is consistently well prepared. Also, I don’t drink Mai Tais...but I do here! All drinks are “top shelf” and you can tell the quality is a focus on everything they do. Worth the wait and we also enjoy a drink in the adjacent lounge that is like a mini-museum for the property.
This is our "go to" place on Kauai. It is lovely and still dependable after all these years. My husband enjoyed the Oscar. I had the scallops which were well prepared.
Pupus were great ! Entrees were awesome. Desserts were just okay.
We have been coming to Kauai for many years and always stop by Gaylords for a brunch.
But lately it is not what it used to be. We enjoyed to order the Ahi eggs Benedict from the menu and pick up extra food items from the buffet. It was a very classy approach to brunch, which is unfortunately no longer available.
We had a wonderful dining experience. Food was excellent, service outstanding, very nice environment, quiet enough to carry on a conversation with ease. Highly recommend Gaylord’s.
The presentation of the daily catch was beautiful, and the taste lived up to the looks.
By far this was the best dinner we've had on the island!
Great place if you want that quintessential Hawaiian dining experience. Eating on the veranda with the garden and expansive lawn was a treat. We were also greeted by pacific cardinals and “Hawaiian” chickens. There are nice seafood items on the menu as well as a wonderful banana cream pie with an incredible coconut crust for dessert. Enjoyed the place so much we went back a second time the same week.
We always have a great time at Gaylord’s. The food is good not great but it is consistent and the ambiance is what makes it. They also have a good cocktail bar. Views are stunning from nearly every table.
Fish of the day and special pie amazing!
Nice place but a bit expensive. The waiters were fabulous though. Went above and beyond. Food was ok but not amazing. Love the location.
One of the best meals I have had recently. There were 4 of us and everyone loved their meals. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Our waitress and all the other staff were awesome. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Even the cocktails are all made from fresh ingredients.
Great place to eat on the island. No sea view but the overall vibe and decor more than made up for it. Nice musical artist to make the evening wonderful. Definitely a must eat place if you are on Kauai.
What a wonderful surprise! After ten days of food trucks, noisy "happening" restaurants with lots of mai this, we were ready for a subdued, quiet, romantic meal...and we were lucky enough to find Gaylord's.
The setting and ambience are refined and classy, without being fussy. Seating for lunch was on the verandah, and tables are spaced sufficiently far apart so you don't have to shout or listen to your neighbor complain about her ex-husband. Views are up toward the mountains and there is a spaciousness to the restaurant which is soothing.
The waitstaff is attentive and knowledgable, being careful not to interrupt our conversation. Our waitress pleasantly guided us though the menu and was quick to refill water and ice tea glasses.
We chose the fish tacos and the chopped kale and arugula salad, which were a perfect combo for a warm day. The ahi for the taco was perfectly cooked (seared on the outside, raw on the inside). My only minor quibble is that I wish the ahi had been cut up into smaller chunks -- trying to bite into a large piece of essentially raw tuna can be hard - I ended up slicing the meat into smaller pieces before re-attempting to eat as a taco. Again, not major, but offered as a friendly suggestion. The salad was outstanding- I'm not a big kale fan, but this assortment of greens, veggies, and craisins was accented with the perfect passionfruit vinaigrette dressing. We could have eaten more!
This is a restaurant for adults who want a quiet, relaxed, and pleasant meal with a touch of elegance.
Beautiful location, but the service was very slow...know we are on island time, but expected better service from a restaurant like this. Food was good, and the ambiance was great.
Very historic building. Food was excelent. Service was poor. If not for the busboy, we would have had no human contact after we ordered until we got the bill. Outside seating was very sunny and hot. No one asked about our meal or our seating, although serveral other customers were approached. Food very expensive. Spend your money elsewhere.
Beautiful Restaurant! Kellan, the bartender/mixologist, made the most amazing drinks, so talented! Shelby, the cocktail waitress, was extremely personable. We arrived at a slow time so we chatted for a good bit with Shelby and she made some great drink suggestions! Our server was pleasant, and meal was FABULOUS! The manager was very nice and even stopped by our table to see if we enjoyed our meal. Wonderful dining experience!! If we are fortunate enough to return to Kauai, we’ll surely return to Gaylord’s!!
Wonderful atmosphere and the best fish I’ve had on the Island. The monjong is delicious!!!!. The Koloa maitais are spey
Waitress took forever to recognize us. She was talking and joking to fellow waitresses while we need attention. Food was not very good for the price. Very disappointed. Did not even get points for using Open Table at this restaurant!
Charged $2 to split a salad.
Buffet brunch with my father. We arrived at 12:30. Even though brunch ends at 2pm it seemed like buffet was over. Only thing that looked appetizing at all was dessert and rice. Waited 30 minutes and went back hoping food would be replenished and fresh. It wasn’t. Everything was in the exact same sad state. Omelette chef was busy packing knives. Another chef stirred the old salmon but didn’t add fresh. Disappointing as we go there often. Music was way too loud. Servers were very professional. Place is beautiful. May give it one more try.... maybe just a bad day. Feel ripped off to pay $100 plus tip for desert and only one alcohol drink.
Overall, not a bad place to visit...but service was poor & food OK!
Been there several times, never miss it on Kauai. Always a great time.
I planned my trip just to go to Gaylord’s
Great restaurant, great location, great food!
Great ambiance and service. Good variety of brunch items.
Hawaiian musician added nice touch during our meal. Landscape area of Gaylords Kilohana clean and well manicured. Highly recommend to friends and family.
Beautiful setting, friendly service, very romantic.
Very attentive service. Food was good and portions a good size.
Amazing food, ambiance and service. Would definitely return. Entree was unlike anything ever had before and dessert was everything Hawaii (pineapple, coconut, macadamia nuts) in one delicious ice cream pie. Nothing else like it!
The chef takes special care in his dishes. I had the local fish special and my husband the surf and turf. Both were the highest quality of taste and preparation. I would highly recommend this location to anyone visiting Kauai!
The staff were all lovely and welcoming. Especially Dava. Dining outside with a view of the grounds is a relaxing way to enjoy dinner. The highlights of the meal were the pork prime rib and fresh catch and of course the banana cream pie and plantation pie.
Loved the food and the whole setup. The pottery area, the art shop and the other stores. The train ride with the chickens running after it was great! And finally the candy shop was heaven.
The place is fantastic and the staffs are friendly. The food was not great. It is medium but with high price tag.
Gaylord’s was our favorite restaurant in Kauai. We ended up going twice while we were on vacation and our only regret was that we didn’t go two more times. Now we just need to figure out how to get the pies shipped to us in California. They are to die for!!
great location with excellent sevice. My problem is I am handicapped and use a walker to get arround, they have handicap access through one of the shops. Unfortunately that ship i often closed. If you know the tricks you gan get the hostess to turn off the allarm system and open the handicap access but there a hassle.
Food and ambiance were excellent. Drinks were also very good
Everything was near perfect in our dinning experience. The highlight of the meal was our outstanding waitress, whose name escapes me, but she was a true ambassador of Aloha. Please take the time to convey my personal thanks to her. Mahalo nui loa...
The steak was over cooked. My fish with crab topping was excellent! The ambience was lovely. The service was superb.
