I was a bit disappointed. Maybe as I was by myself it took a long time to place an order. I had to ask for bread instead of being offered. When I went with someone last time the service was better. Also went for a particular dish (burrata) that they didn’t have so was just a little underwhelmed. I think when you go to a restaurant alone you should still get the same level of service as when you are with someone. Especially when there were lots of empty tables.

My daughter and I had a superb time on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Gees. Service was absolutely fantastic and the food and drinks were delicious. Conservatory looked festive and was warm and cosy. Would not hesitate to recommend this fabulous restaurant.

Gees has a very pleasing ambience. The conservatory - main eating area - provides light and an agreeable view of the quiet, leafy area where it is situated. The meal was excellent and chosen from a menu of continental items giving a very reasonable choice. The service, too, was first class. They even provided a small 'gift' as I was there to celebrate my birthday. I'd be delighted to go there again.

Gee's has been on our list of restaurants to go to for a long time....but for one reason or another it has taken until this weekend to do just that! A lively but low key and relaxed atmosphere and welcome. Attentive staff without being intrusive, and not too hurried. Good quality ingredients served beautifully, and accompanied by a glass or two of wine from one of our favourite vineyards made this early pre-theatre supper a lovely way to start the evening.

We had an amazing time here on a sunday evening, not to busy. Very good food in a very nice location! And only a few steps from our hotel. Less known by the average tourist I think because it is outside the town center. 👍. Lovely staff, very helpfull (Thank you Anna!!)

Most dishes ordered were 1st class. Sadly my Osso Bucco dish lacked flavour. Comments were taken on board and pre dinner cocktails were taken off the bill. Service was very very good. Would go again if in the area.

Cosy and interesting ambience within large conservatory. On our arrival for a 6:30pm booking the conservatory was on the cool side. A request was made to turn up heating which was carried out immediately which resolved the issue very quickly. Service was very friendly and professional. Food was enjoyable with a reasonably varied menu. We will definitely eat there again.

First visit. Wont be the last. Excellent ambience, good food and excellent service. Braised Octopus with mojo rojo and potatoes a joy and followed by a very filling Wild mushroom tagliatelle. Service not obtrusive and the whole lunch very chilled. We were the last people there but under no pressure to vacate which was really nice. The conservatory a great place to eat and just looking around downstairs too an air of serenity and no rush pervades. Very good all round. Will return.

Called into Gees for the express lunch after shopping in town. We had not been for a while as we both moved out of Oxford City into the Cotswolds. Such a lovely ambience - even on a very quiet Friday early afternoon. We chatted to the waitress about the new private dining room and garden next door - really impressed with the owners drive to take the business forward - he is a bit of legend in Oxford. Booked Christmas Eve on the back of our visit for our small family, we used to go a lot around Christmas when we lived in the city - can’t wait! Gee’s express lunch and everyday menu are perfect - staff so attentive and as I mentioned GREAT ambience! Highly recommend.

I visit Gees every year just before Halloween with my boys (now late teens) as I love the atmosphere at dusk with the lights on and pumpkins out. Fantastic food and service. Good value and magical setting.
