For over 57 years, fondue dining at Geja’s Café has been a favorite indulgence for Chicagoans as well as out-of-towners. It’s a perfect way to kindle romance, celebrate a special occasion or simply join family and friends for a fun and unforgettable dining experience.
To start we offer a Swiss Gruyere cheese fondue, served with fresh breads, fruits and vegetables for dipping. Our crisp house salad, dressed with tangy Dijon vinaigrette, offers a counterpoint to the rich, warm cheese fondue appetizer.
Next, you’ll cook your choices of Australian lobster tail, Gulf shrimp, beef tenderloin, fresh sea scallops or boneless chicken breast in a pot of sizzling soybean oil or broth. The main course is served with fresh vegetables and eight gourmet dipping sauces.
Our famous chocolate fondue is flamed table-side, and presented with marshmallows for roasting and other delectable dippers.

    I had requested an outdoor table when I made my reservation to celebrate my 50th birthday at Geja's. Our reservation was at 8:00. Half our our party had arrived before 7:45, and we were walking up to the restaurant just after they had texted us that our table was ready at 7:50. Unfortunately, the lady running the front of the house gave our table to someone else, despite the fact that we had arrived well before our reservation time. She came across as quite mean, to be honest. This was quite disappointing, given the reputation Geja's enjoys for providing guests with superior dining experiences. The host Tyler did his best to remedy the situation with his charm, and Tyson and his team were fantastic servers. We had a fantastic experience overall and enjoyed every moment of every bite.

    This is our 5th time at Gejas, and we were celebrating our 26th anniversary. Our 1st time was when I proposed to my wife 26.5 years ago on Valentine's Day. Everything this time was great as usual. Service was outstanding, the waiter and another employee were watching our table the whole time and right on it anytime we needed something. Food was excellent, every course! The atmosphere cannot be beat by any restaurant. We don't come here often because we want it to be very special whenever we do.

    This restaurant is very intimate and romantic. The guitarist really melts into the room as he play songs that compliments the atmosphere. The team was inviting, friendly, informative and attentive. My wife was pleased, she could not stop smiling all evening. Happy that I chose this setting to celebrate our anniversary! We shall return sometime soon.

    Terrible service. Trying to fit as many people into smallest corners as possible. Too much work trying to cook all your own food. Server couldn’t understand the Everclear that they put into the chocolate didn’t burn off. Acted annoyed that I asked for more alcohol. It tasted like chocolate dipped in rubbing alcohol. Disgusting.

    Geja's is a wonderful place to go for delicious food and a quiet, inviting place. My 18 year old son and I had a great time. We tried the beef tenderloin and chicken breast along with dessert. I can't even describe the fantastic time we had. Of course, all of this was made even better with Michael, our server. He, alone with the rest of the wait staff, were courteous, prompt and just perfect. They timed the delivery of all of our food very well. They kept an eye on our progress throughout our visit and made sure we always had what we needed. We had a reservation for 5:00 pm. As we were driving in from Michigan, we had an issue come up. I called Geja's and asked if we could move the reservation to 5:30. The hostess was very kind and did everything she could to accommodate our needs. This started our experience with Geja's in a terrific place. Thank you for a wonderful time celebrating my son's birthday! We'll definitely be back!

    Our server, Tyson, was very helpful and made us feel at ease. The fondue was fantastic. I would recommend getting a booth. We had a very small 2 person and it was pretty cramped.

    What an amazing place. Everyone there is attentive and has impeccable attention to details. They are considerate to what the occasion is and making sure it’s a wonderful celebration. Extremely friendly. Food is delicious, the cocktails were on point. I can’t wait to go back.

    Dinner for us and our 3 adult children. 2 real carnivores, 1 vegan, 2 vegetarians. Upfront - we spent a lot because it was a special occasion - but for a really lovely dinner for two, you can pay a very reasonable price. LIVE excellent Spanish/classical guitarist. Wait staff (headed by Rico, for us) was perfectly attentive, and accommodating for our varied dietary preferences. For vegans/vegetarians - the Tindle 'chicken' was fantastic - tofu was fine (best for me when I left it to cook for a long time). Carnivores had 'Prince Geja's Combination', and it made them very happy. Generous amounts of veggies and protein. Cheese and chocolate fondues, just, so good. I had asked if I could bring in vegan marshmallows (the chocolate fondue itself isn't vegan, but you can 'roast' marshmallows while the liqueur burns off), and they were good with that. They gave us 3 oil setups for the main course, extra work for them but really worked for us.

    The service was amazing!! They even gave us seating options when we got there. This was my husband's birthday and first time there.....he loved everything about the place. Customer service was simply amazing and we can't wait to come back!!

    Very very expensive for very little food that you cook yourself. $110 for 2 ppl who shared the cheapest meal. We each got 2 bites beef, 2 bites chicken and 1 shrimp. So dark inside it is hard to see or walk around.

    We had another great experience at Geja’s. We were traveling from Boston and this unique restaurant is unlike anything we have back at home. Our server, Gary (I believe) was awesome. He was very accommodating and made us feel comfortable with the menu. He helped my wife and I pick out drinks, giving honest recommendations and not just pushing top shelf products. This is a restaurant we will always visit when coming to Chicago. Very romantic atmosphere and excellent food.

    This was our first time dining at Gejas. The hostess at first seemed rude to both my husband and I but turned out fine as she kindly helped family members find their way back to their seats from the bathroom. It was a bit of a maze for first timers. Our waiter, Michael, and the two other two men that helped with “stuff” at the table were amazing, explaining everything in detail and always making sure we had everything we needed. The guys were always watching our burners to make sure they weren’t too hot or needed warming up more. They did the hard part and we did the fun part. Whole family decided this is definitely a go again restaurant!!

    First time in 5 years and it's better than I remember. Spent much needed time with family. The space was perfect. Felt as if it was just us when though we were in a restaurant. The food was fantastic and the portions were just right! Can't wait to return!
