Gia is among the first restaurants in Canada to be recognized and recommended by the renowned Michelin Guide. Gia is a vibrant plant-forward 36 seat restaurant, specializing in handmade pasta with creative takes on Italian classics like plant-based meatballs, Focaccia, Ricotta Gnocchi, Lumache Bolognese, White Truffle Ricotta Agnolotti.

Reservations: We allocate a dining period of 2 hours and typically book at 5pm, 6pm and 8pm & 10pm,
If you need more than 2 hours kindly let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate.
Maximum party size is 5 Friday to Sunday. Bar seating available.

Food was really delicious, great mix of flavours. Open kitchen was a treat to watch the food being prepared. It is great that hey have a patio. Unfortunately since I have poor hearing, the traffic noise l d us to change to inside seating. We look forward to our next visit.

I’ve never had such worse service. Servers took 25 minutes to even take our drink order. My reservation was at 8pm and we didn’t even get food until 9:30. By the time the food actually came I wasn’t even hungry anymore. We had to call people over multiple times to even get our order taken on the patio. Beyond disappointed is an understatement.

I would like to start by saying I am vegan, but not at all a picky eater. I usually like everything. The “crab cakes” had the texture of breaded mashed potatoes. The flavour was not at all what you would expect from something called crab cakes. It also tasted like mashed potatoes with lots of black pepper. The coleslaw and aioli were fine. The ravioli was good. Also stuffed with peppery mashed potatoes. The cashew cream sauce and the peas were a great touch. The pasta itself was chewy. The lions mane mushroom looked amazing, was seasoned great, but the texture was horrible. It was slimy and was like chewing jello. We couldn’t finish it. The potatoes and rapini were fine. I don’t know why we went ahead and got dessert because it was also not so good. The cheesecake was good but the peach reduction that was on it had a flavour that neither of us liked. Of all the people who visited our table; our server, the person who refilled our water, and the person who cleared our plates, not one did a quality check when we received any of our food. We were asked after we were done eating dessert if we liked the cheesecake. Overall I loved the atmosphere, decor and philosophy. I wish I loved the food. For the price and the build up I had created in my mind, I was very disappointed in the main thing, the food.

Not usually a fan of vegetarian meals but I’d go back to Gia anyday! Loved their big group $70 tasting menu. So delicious!!

The service was some of the WORST I’ve ever had anywhere. So rude, so inattentive. Blonde girl with the blue and white striped shirt. She was cold and sarcastic for seemingly no reason, towards other tables too. We sat with empty plates for 45 minutes. We would have ordered more drinks/food. I’ve never left a review anywhere before, but this was awful. Ruined our night. Also not sure why they ask you to mention special occasions when booking, they don’t acknowledge them at all. GIA used to be our go-to spot but after this visit I think we’ll look elsewhere. It was upsetting.

Drinks: Canadian Pie and Baked Goods. The rhubarb taste was great and we gulped the whole thing. Starters: Shishito Peppers and side of Green Beans. While the peppers had the occasional citrus kick, the green beans were more consistent. Both were tasty though. Mains: Eggplant Parmesan and the Gemille. The Eggplant Parmesan was fantastic. Crispy, cooked through, and the garlic sauce was what brought it all together. Just perfect. The Gemille was so-so. Dessert: Semolina cake. The sponge wasn't dry and the orange/lime zest syrup with a cream of some kind was spot-on. The cream was quite heavy but the cale was light and we finished the whole thing. Kylie was extremely sweet and attentive, even engaging with our 3 year old. The staff here seem happy to be part of the restaurant. With their menus being seasonal,we would definitely want to go back and dine again.
