Out two servers were amazing Rainer and Marie have a combined employment experience with this restaurant of 55 years! They know the business and will not steer you astray from an amazing time. Gibby’s and their staff have steak figured out!

Huge dissapointment. This restaurant came recommended from a friend and with the numerous steak houses in the area we decided to go with Gibbys. Unfortunately, this proved to be a very overpriced, low quality meal. My boyfriend ordered the 12 oz filet and I ordered the ribeye steak. Both were ordered medium. While they were cooked as requested, the quality of meat was poor. Both meats were flavorless; mine was quite tough. I don't think our meats had salt or pepper on them or any seasoing. We had ordered the garlic sauce on the side, thankfully; it didn't help. The asparagus side was steamed but also had nothing on it. Nothing. Given the price of the meal and the fact that you are going to a steak house for an excellent steak, this just doesn't deliver.

Another exceptional meal! My first visit to Gibby's was 48 years ago and although the menu has changed slightly, the quality has remained excellent. Even though we now live in Ottawa, we make it a point to keep going back, although not as often as we'd like. Our server was very attentive, topping off our water and wine without being prompted. The food was cooked to perfection, as always. Already planning what we'll order next time.

Went to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The table was ready, the food and service lived up to the hype. The building is fantastically cool! They topped it off by bringing us a small cake with Happy Anniversary written on top at no charge. Absolute 5 star experience!

Enrique our waiter was phenomenal. Expeditious service, pride in his job and very personable. Food was super fresh and most things including bread and desert made in house. It’s the small details that elevate the experience like the homemade pickles, maybe the best pickles I’ve ever had, palette cleanser between courses and homemade chocolates at end of meal. If I was to make suggested improvement maybe slow down the pace of bringing food out between courses. However, I was super impressed of how efficient the service was. Would’ve been nice to savor the experience and food between courses. Overall highly recommend *****

Everything was perfect, from the warm greeting to the intimate surroundings. Our waiter Kas was the best of the best. We were celebrating a milestone birthday with our family. Each salad, meal and accompaniments were perfectly presented, the highest quality, and cooked exactly as ordered. I had the wedge salad with dressing on the side, and eggplant parmigiana with broccoli instead of asparagus. A bottle of California red kept the beef lovers and myself happy. Valets we’re busy because if the event in the courtyard, but prompt nonetheless. It costs a little more for quality, but 4/5 of us had another (1 or 2) meals to take home! Amongst my top 5 Montréal destinations for fine dining.
