   Our waiter was lovely, service great, food fabulous. Music slightly loud but bearable , not a fan of a $40 surcharge on a Sunday ( 15%) but will definitely be back on another day .

   Gilsons was fine. OperTable was hopeless. Although my booing was confirmed by OpenTable twice by email, it did not register with Gilsons, so on arrival I had no booking, but email confirmation! Visit Gilsons with ear plugs, but book directly.

   Every thing was great except the steak which we wanted medium but was generally overcooked. Sticky date dessert wasn't greatly too, too dry on the edges.

    You only have a two hour dining window before you are asked to vacate for the next group. It probably would have worked if we didn’t have to wait for our pre-ordered meal. Additionally, when the birthday cake came out, no knife was supplied and it took time to organise that. The food was good. It’s a very noisy environment. You might call it energetic but I found it jarring. I won’t return.

    Difficult to enjoy the food as I was continuously swatting flies! Don’t think I would go back. Had the same problem in November. The ceiling was covered as was the metal separation frame alongside the bar.

    The noise level inside Gilson is regularly too loud to hear conversation on our table but on this visit music blasted over the restaurant on two separate occasions for 20 secs each time including excessive background noise. The staff were unapologetic about the noise and blasting music. An unpleasant dining experience on this occasion.

    One needs to be able to book at a time that suits the patron not in blocks eg 1.00pm not forced to eat at 12.30 pm

    Food was amazing. Very rarely do I enjoy all the food ordered at a venue, however everything was delectable. The bill was not nearly as much as we expected either which is a bonus. Only downside was the short seating period (which was partially our fault for being late) and the crowded spaces. Overall would come back!

    It was a lovely meal, the fries were so salty though they ruined the taste of the rest of our meal a little. We definitely recommend but I would skip the fries.

    The food was good w a decent selection, reasonably lively flavors, fresh ingredients, and some imagination. The wine selection was excellent. Our steaks were cooked as requested and the cut of meat was good. Service was erratic. The wait staff were friendly but after several frequent visits at the start of the meal, by the end of the meal our table of six was forgotten. Overall, we had a great night but partly because we were determined to so, regardless.

    Fabulous food in a great setting. I would advise avoid having to use the ladies toilet facilities. An upgrade to the bathroom facilities is long overdue.

    We were sitting inside, it was so hot inside which made it uncomfortable to eat. We were also situated right next to the entrance where the door continued to slam every time someone were to walk in/out. The cushions on the bench seats were so overused, definitely need a replacement. The red wine we ordered was so warm, it made it hard to drink, probably best to keep the wines in a temperature controlled room. Other than that the food and service were impeccable.

    No waitresses or waiters wanted to eagerly wait our tables and our mains took an hour to come out, when we were clearly finished no one attended us and we had to wait 20 minutes before we went up to pay because no one was even looking at us. When we went up to pay we noticed our waitress was sitting right at the bar eating on her break. Why are there not any more staff to take over waiting our table? And maybe not have staff members eat their food on their breaks at the bar where everyone can see because it looks lazy and unprofessional.

    Your establishment is completely riddled with bugs. There were 15-20 bugs on the wall behind my head alone and the restrooms were just as bad. The waitstaff was great and accommodated us professionally, but I will never eat here again. I firmly believe the restrooms specifically are a reflection of the overall cleanliness of an entire establishment — therefore I must assume your kitchens are also unsanitary. For the prices you charge, you’d think there would be a level of care in that regard. Please do better.

    A perfect way to spend New Year’s Eve! Delicious cocktails, scrumptious pizza and mouth watering dessert. Caters for the whole family and dietary requirements. Highly recommend!

    We were a group of ten sharing plates. The selection was wide and the food was delicious. We were attentively served throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the noise level was unbearable. We could only the hear the person right next to us. This spoilt an otherwise fantastic experience. I would go again but either sit outside or pick a quiet time.

    We were rushed. It was so noisy we couldn’t hear each other talk. Attitude of some of the staff was arrogant. Felt like it was not about the customer but more about churning over patrons with very little care for customer service. Need to stop the 1.5 hr sittings and set menus and let people get back to enjoying dining out and ordering what they want. Would not go back again.
