Girl & the Goat

What Insiders Are Saying
One of the most well known restaurants in Chicago, and one that lives up to the hype.
Loved it! Staff was amazing and food was delicious
Exemplary! I was sat at one of the Chef’s tables and it made the experience amazing! The service was great and it has been a highlight in my trip to Chicago!
WE have been looking forward to this evening for some time.
It was my wife's birthday and we haven't been back to G&TG since her birthday 4 years ago.
We had a table reserved and ended up eating at the bar because of Lilly the fabulousational bartender.
The food was spectacular, the service and attention were perfect and the ambiance exactly what we like.
Our favorites were the lamb ribs, scallops and green beans.
Lilly brought out a selection of deserts to help celebrate the ocassion and they were amazing .
What a fun night.
We will not wait 4 years to come back.
I visit Chicago every October and Girl &The Goat is a must for me. Make reservations ahead of time and don’t be in a rush. Every flavor profile is thought about and executed.
Have the cauliflower because you just need too! It is that good. The broccoli is worthy; the chicken is lovely with an amazing sauce and the “pig face” is delicious. It is truly a wonderful food experience.
That salmon small plate may be the best bite of food I have ever had in my life. The server was great about helpful with special diet requests. Noise level = deafening.
Waiter could not be bothered. Very inattentive. We had to ask for everything. Drinks,Plates, glasses to be cleared, and parts of order never came.
I went with my boyfriend for our anniversary. We were so fortunate that they sat us at the chefs table and gave us comp champagne. We ordered 5 dishes and every single one was amazing. All the dishes are meant to be shared. We wish we left room for dessert. It wasn't until after that we realized we could have ordered half portions. We will have to do that next time we are in Chicago!
Everything is amazing there, food, service, booze, service. A true treat.
Great food, wanted to try everything on the menu! The atmosphere is great as well
My husband and I had the best meal here! Service and food were amazing and we definitely want to come back to try more dishes.
My favorite was the lamb ribs and the goat empanadas! Yummo!!!
Hip atmosphere, decor, and music, AMAZING food and service. The chick pea fritters and charred octopus were out of this world. Highly recommend!
We told our waitress to order us a meal' and we weren't disappointed. Amazing experience.
Outstanding everything. Carefully crafted dining experience from start to finish. They also acknowledged our anniversary with a dessert that was outstanding. Make a reso or stand in line with hopes to get a table cause people are clambering to get in!
Phenomenal food selection. Energetic bar. Well worth the experience!
Excellent, from service to drinks to food. We tried a lot and everything was outstanding.
Birthday dinner with new food experiences including goat.
Girl and the Goat is always outstanding. Every time we go there's always something new on the menu we haven't tried. Love this place.
Great place, food was amazing! Loved everything about this place
This was my third time at Girl and the Goat and definitely the least impressive. I hadn’t been there for two years and was expecting the same unforgettable experience as before. Food was overcooked and portions were smaller. We sat at the chef’s table, and repeatedly saw food being returned by waiters and higher-up chefs. Not sure what was going on that night, hopefully it was just a fluke and quality hasn’t changed.
Service was very good, the place looks nice though there is nothing distinctive about the interior. The giant wood shelves on the tables holding one small candle take up too much space and are unnecessary. The food was good, not great. Too much sauce on most of the dishes and the sauces are over the entire plate so you have no choice. Octupus was overcooked. Duck tartar had too much sesame oil. Goat Empanada was the best thing we ate by far. The presentation on every plate seemed messy. Not sloppy, but intentionally scattered. Every description by the food runners was rushed through and hard to understand. Overall it wasn't worth the trip to an extremely busy part of town with difficult parking options.
I adore this restaurant. It’s a foodies dream and the service is amazing. You’re cared for and treated like family the moment you walk through the doors. Thank you for a memorably delicious night.
We were in town for a girls trip and could only get a 4:30pm reservation. Even at that early time, the food and atmosphere did not disappoint. The food comes out as it’s made and is served to share. Every dish we got was delicious and so unique. Would recommend. A little louder but not sure you could help that since it’s busy all the time.
Our first time to the Girl and the Goat. Unbelievable food and drinks. The atmosphere is quite lively. We'll definitely be back but next time with a larger group so we can sample more dishes. That's the way to go.
Delicious! Loved it all. Service was great! Thank you. :)
My husband and I were in Chicago 4 years ago and could not get into Girl and The Goat. For this vacation we made sure to make a reservation well in advance. This waa hands down the best meal we have ever had. Everything we ordered was fantastic. This is a very fun restaurant and the ambiance is unique. Our server was top notch. We will be sure to visit Girl and The Goat next time we are in Chicago.
Excelente. Lo mejor el Lamb Ribs, el Shoulder, empanadas y los peppers.
Girl and the Goat is one of the top restaurants in Chicago for good reason. It is a fun place with great innovative food and great service. Every dishes we had was excellent. It is not inexpensive but surely worth the price. go if you can!
The service was impeccable, Original and amazing. The service was on pat. We were pleased with every dish we ordered.
Always fantastic!!!! We’ve always had great food & service. A rare gem
We had big expectations and they were exceeded! Such a fun atmosphere, amazing service and incredible dishes! We’ll be back for sure!
Friend of my recommended Girl and the Goat when I asked tips for restaurants in Chicago and we weren't diappointed: food was creative but still simple enough with well balanced flavours. All the 12 (+2 extra we received) dishes we tasted were at minimum very good, most of them excellent. Sharing portions may not be something everyone prefers but personally I enjoyed the possibility to try many different foods. Service was also really good, not too pushy but very helpful and friendly. Our orders were also delivered impressively fast after our order was placed.
I might have eaten better food a couple of times but the price/quality ratio here is hard to match. The only minus comes from slightly too high volume of music in the restaurant but that might be just my approaching middle age speaking.
I highly recommend Girl and the Goat to anyone visiting Chicago but be early with your booking: I booked 1,5 months ahead and only got time at 10PM.
Must come here with a big group so you can try everything on the menu. We had a party of 4 so we were able to try 9 dishes. My favorite was the goat empanada, but everything tasted amazing.
Had a wonderful meal! Loved the cauliflower, broccoli and chickpea fritters...Devin my waitress was very helpful and guided me through the menu with great suggestions! Thanks very much for your kindness. I will definitely be back.
Our waiter was excellent and we had a very nice, unhurried dinner.
Horrible service. Extremely rude staff. Food is very good but overpriced for the portion size.
Flew out from Phoenix and got a chance to try this place out and it was amazing.
We had a nice table for 2 at 7:45 on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is dark and warm and lively with people... perfect for a Saturday night. We had the foccaccia, octupus, walleye, fritters and got empanadas and left feeling satisfied and with a unique experience, along with a couple of cocktails. The walleye was our favorite. When you go to the Girl and the Goat you’re going for something special. Of course, his restaurant is somewhat pricey for tapas, but totally worth the splurge for a special occasion or date night.
