   Fabulous waiter who knew all the menu and had tasted the dishes so could be informative. Some of the best dishes I have had in many years. The small seafood platter was so varied and is the best I’ve ever had, including when visiting eastern Canada. Sweetbreads piccata is a must have. We’ll be back again.

   All in all…a really nice night out. We arrived and were about to be seated at THE worst table in the restaurant- which is a deuce right when you enter the space - but my wife spoke up and the hostess relocated us…no issue. Note to management a simple velvet drape cleverly suspended and orienting the table to the kitchen will create a very nice table and mitigate cold air entering the dining area. Sat down and had the best gin cocktail I think I have ever had….my wife a very good martini. Appetizer of beet salad was generous and shared…but the cheese could have been somewhat more flavourful…beets very good. My wife had steak frites and I the burger with fois gras both of which were excellent. We even tried their twist on a sundae which was very good. They serve as a team - all of which were friendly and engaged..excellent really….and the bill for it all was, well…sensible for the quality of the meal. We’ll definitely be back.

   Best burger i’ve ever had. I loved how each plate was well balanced (taste and texture). I enjoy all the little details in the flavors that made these plates extra tasty! The cocktaiks were good too!

   Had a lovely time at Gitanes. We sat at the bar and were served by Grant (I believe that was their name). Service was exceptional and all staff were friendly and accommodating. We ate appetizers & entrees + cocktails & wine. Loved the atmosphere and music too! All were great, will definitely be back!

    You can a find a better meal somewhere else. Very pricey. The setting is beautiful but if you want to charge that much for meal and drinks you need to take it up a notch. The steak was passable at best.

    Top marks all round for food, service and overall experience. Our server was very knowledgeable on both food and wine and kept both coming at a perfect pace. Very inventive and well executed menu. Loved the chicken liver agnolotti and risotto involving. Foie Sundae not to be missed.

    The service was very good and the food presentation is good too. We only found that the food tasted bland with no seasoning. For long waiting the chair was not comfortable. But we loved the drinks. So overall, 3/5

    The staff is great and the service excellent! And the food, wow… we loved our marinated steak frites accompanied by an outstanding fennel salad. The only reason for the 4 stars is the selection of wines. It is a great selection mind you but would be great to have a few more choices a bit less expensive. They were mostly all more than 100$ a bottle.

    I had the steak frites which was very tasty but the fries somewhat over- seasoned. Not enough choice on the menu in the reasonable price range. There were four items - $26 burger, $30 steak frites, $50 halibut, $110 filet mignon. Good food but too expensive.

Food costs are definitely on the rise and that does affect menu prices. We do our best to pass along value to our guests but we are French casual fine dining. Have you checked out GBurger? - Our sister restaurant across the street that is a really fun elevated burger diner concept paired with natural wines. Great food & value!

    It was our 1st visit and I have to say that it was a total delight our server was helpful and engaged and really lovely.. We enjoyed everything that we ate and drank we had the sourdough with cultured butter, beets with with cream, Steak frites, and crab platter. I have to say the place felt very authentically French and it's catering and it's cuisine, I really appreciated that.
