Chef Rob Rossi & David Minicucci, of Toronto favourite L'Unità, have collaborated to bring a genuine neighbourhood restaurant to Dufferin Grove.
Designed by acclaimed architect Guido Costantino Projects, a beguiling interior sets the stage for a convivial family-style dining experience that honours traditional Italian fare while showcasing stand-out ingredients.
Original brick and beam frame this warm, welcoming space where no detail is left unconsidered. Copper, Italian wool & red oxidized steel accents interplay with blonde wood and terrazzo, creating a rich, textured environment as enticing as Chef Rossi’s menu offerings.
This was my third time at the restaurant and I was excited to bring a friend that has never been. When we walked in for our 8:30 reservation at 8:20, it was busy and looked full. Several employees walked by and saw us but didn’t make eye contact. After 10 minutes they had to because there was about 12 people that were trying to come in behind me. At 8:40, they gave us a glass of bubbles “while we waited”. There wasn’t an apology or acknowledgement that our table wasn’t ready. They thanked us for our patience. We didn’t get sat until 8:53.
Our server was nice. I selected a bottle of wine with the sommelier and she brought it back and opened it for us. When I ordered, I advised that we were sharing everything and to bring it out as she liked because we were hungry. The octopus came relatively quickly but the other dishes didn’t arrive until after 10:00pm almost an hour after we sat.
I know the restaurant is busy. The food is delicious, but they need to be more aware of slotting reservation times and the lull between courses. I don’t ever want to feel rushed out but 40 minutes with no food, isn’t very pleasant either.
We were able to sit at the kitchen/bar area so we’re able to watch how the food is prepped. The staff was amazing and so friendly! Fabio and Vince were outstanding with their service and great tips! Will definitely be going back! Everything was excellent!!
Great food and service awesome chef’s very yummy! Will be back soon liked sitting at the bar watching cooks!
Second time coming in here and second time having the chef’s table. Always a great experience, great food and great service!!!
I made a reservation for a friends birthday and we loved our night at Giulietta. I am vegan and my friends are not, and we all loved everything we ordered (I’m still thinking about the Swiss chard salad days later). The space is beautiful and the service was lovely. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Wonderful friendly service, and new menu items keep repeat visits fresh with something new to try seasonally.
Sharing many dishes so that we all got a taste of everything was a good choice in lieu of everything being so delicious.
Excellent service, and helpful staff. Food was superb, really good vibe in the restaurant. Will come back for more!!
Pretty good but my expectations were very high considering it was rated top ten in Canada. I would go back for the Giulietta pizza, the tart dessert and the octopus. Everything else was meh (salad and pork chop).
Just an amazing experience. We sat at the chef’s table (aka the kitchen bar) and were treated like royalty. Amazing food and wine, and very friendly staff. Right up there with Edulis, Buca, and Bar Isabel in our opinion for our favourite dining in Toronto.
Outstanding!!!!!
No need to say more
The overall ambience was great. Food was excellent. We had counter seating which was great to see food prep in action. Servers were attentive and knowledgeable with their recommendations!
The food is “fine”, but really something you would expect from your local trattoria at less than half the price point.
Most of the dishes were lacking depth of flavour.
On the positive side, the octopus was very good, as was the pizza. Unfortunately that’s only two out of the 8 dishes we got. The desserts were quite good as well.
This place seems to be really over hyped and looked like it was filled by cut-and-paste Yorkville floozies that just wanted to post on Instagram.
In all aspects excellent
Service is beyond excellent . Wine recommendations are always superb , the cherry on the top is the food
Love the food. Everything from the carpaccio starter to the special truffle caramella to the nonna’s tart was good. The sommelier was also good with his choice of wine to match my good. Had the langhe Nebbiolo that was perfect with the food choices. I sat at the bar counter alone and the people were friendly but not overly intrusive. It’s Italian some right. Yum!
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great.
Overall supremely disappointed, especially with my previous fantastic experience at Bestellen. I was expecting to be blown away with all of the hype but it just didn't live up. The octopus was honestly one of the worst dishes I've had in recent memory, everything else was literally just ok. Also wasn't feeling the space, I think they got the design all wrong here. Felt like I was eating in a subway station sitting on the absolute most uncomfortable chair money can buy.....
My sister, brother-in-law, and myself had an amazing experience dining at Guilettea. We look forward to coming back in the future!
Octopus is a must try. Noise level is ok if you are sitting in the front part of the restaurant.
They went far and beyond to make my 1st experience exceptional.
The octopus and swiss chard salad was amazing. Sat at the bar and the bar tender was super fun and very knowledgable . Highly recommend this place
Amazing food from Chef Rob! Highly recommend the octopus to start and the king crab taglioni was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten.
The service was excellent. I've never experienced such attentive service from everyone and the food was amazing! I would definitely go back.
The food is great, service terrific, worth it!
Exceptional service and meal experience. Thank you so much for my son’s birthday so memorable
We sat at the bar right in front of the open kitchen, they were by far the best seats in the house. We were able to speak to the chefs and ask questions as they worked. The food was outstanding, but by the far watching those four chefs work was the biggest highlight.
Best Italian in Toronto. Everything is amazing everytime I go; food and service. Love this place!
Fantastic experience! Great food and service. Looking forward to going back!
Sitting at the bar for dinner is a amazing
Laura was a great host, beautiful smile and set the tone to what was a wonderful meal! We’ll be back!
Best to sit by counter and book ahead :)
Excellent food and service! Nothing to complain about.
Incredible service and high quality, delicious food! Easily the best Italian in Toronto right now.
Great place
Very clean
Attentive staff
How it should be
Great nite!
Pasta was cold. Overpriced for what this place has to offer.
If you go you must sit at the chef's bar - So entertaining! Food is phenomenal too!
Gentilissimi e cordiali, si mangia bene con prezzi giusti. Lo consiglio a tutti gli italiani che visitano Toronto.
Enjoyed food very much. Food was excellent.
By comparison, Selection of white wines by glass was poor and limited. Tasted two white options by glass - neither was excellent; these wines by glass were maybe just poor to average.
Amazing time amazing service amazing
Food !
Giulietta came highly recommended for the food--and they did not disappoint! The octopus appetizer, the oxtail ragu pasta, and the brussels sprouts side dishes were the highlights. The seafood main, cauliflower side and Nutella-flavoured "soft serve" gelato we shared for dessert were very good, but just not as great as the other dishes we had. Decor was nice, nothing special. The Cynar-based cocktail we had was tasty, and the wine accompanying the seafood was good (perhaps a bit too dry for our tastes, though!). However, the service was very good--super professional, humourous, impeccable--and perhaps the best accompaniment to the meal!!
