Chef Rob Rossi & David Minicucci, of Toronto favourite L'Unità, have collaborated to bring a genuine neighbourhood restaurant to Dufferin Grove.
Stay tuned for their new restaurant, Osteria Giulia opening in May 2020 at 134 Avenue Road.
Designed by acclaimed architect Guido Costantino Projects, a beguiling interior sets the stage for a convivial family-style dining experience that honours traditional Italian fare while showcasing stand-out ingredients.
Original brick and beam frame this warm, welcoming space where no detail is left unconsidered. Copper, Italian wool & red oxidized steel accents interplay with blonde wood and terrazzo, creating a rich, textured environment as enticing as Chef Rossi’s menu offerings.
We we certainly be back. Enjoyed the atmosphere, food and great service.
The service is superb.
Fantastic meal and great service. I would highly recommend it.
I went by myself and picked a non-busy time and was given a seat at the counter. I was able to watch the chefs at work! I had already reviewed the menu so I knew what I wanted. I started with the “insalata verde” (outstanding) followed by the tonnarelli cacio e pepe! No doubt the best pasta I’ve ever had!
Loved sitting at the bar. Great for both sharing plates and on your own. Very knowledgeable staff who make you feel at home.
Amazing experience, food and service. I would recommend.
Everything was perfect. Wait staff are outstanding. Casual but special :-)
We had a great time. The food was delicious. The service and the atmosphere was perfect. I can’t wait to go back!
We had a great time at giuletta celebrating my birthday this past weekend. We enjoyed the food, the delivery of the food - that didn’t all arrive at the same time. We are all vegetarians and it was a nice assortment of dishes. It was a great meal, until the end.
When I called to book the reso the hostess said the table is yours until 7:30pm(so I knew this in the back of my head). It was just past 7pm, we paid the bill and they immediately rushed us out with our jackets (they had collected all 5 From coat check and dumped them on us). one of our party guests were in the bathroom and it’s a small space that we couldn’t stay seated.. so we had to stand waiting in the foyer. It wasn’t a nice feeling.
In addition, later I learnt that my party guest in the bathroom had called the restaurant prior to ask them to bring out a cake and tab it to the bill, the server knew it was my birthday and still brought nothing.
We all had great feelings of the evening up until that point, it wasn’t a nice feeling - to feel that you were being kicked out at the end after spending quite a bit
This was an amazing experience! We were seated at the kitchen top and were able to observe. The chefs were extremely friendly and interacting. The food was exceptional. We will be back.
Always Outstanding!!! Best food and service in the city ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service was awful enough to over ride the good food experience. We had a reservation but amidst dinner they bumped us to another table to accommodate a big group, promised we can keep that table “till the place closes” and then kicked us out during digestive to avail another group. Complete none sense.. you can tell they put money making first. Oh, and they also forgot to bring one plate of appetizer we ordered as well.
Overall, lovely. Food was fantastic, loved the ravioli and the ragu. The octopus was slightly disappointing. However, the food did take a long time to arrive. Our main course arrived an hour after we ordered and 45 min after our appetizer, usually at place like this I would expect 40 min latest from ordering. Service felt a bit slow and not as attentive as I would expect. It was a busy night, but they could optimize a bit more on the service delivery.
Courteous staff from entry to departure. Very boutique food for a fair value. The menu was a little user unfriendly for patrons with dietary restrictions unless you are Italian fluent. Overall a choice elegant environment and experience.
One of my top Italian restaurants in Toronto! My faves include their parpadelle oxtail ragu and their pizzas. Love their sweetbreads too and desserts. Worth the drive for me from midtown. Service is always attentive.
Terrific food and outstanding wine suggestions! Will be back.
We really enjoyed our evening, thank you!
9:30 p.m. reservation ... waited by the door until 10:15 p.m. It got so bad we considered grabbing our coats and leaving for another place. People come to a late dinner hungry and expecting to eat. 5-10 minute wait is acceptable but should be an exception. To have to wait 45 minutes for a "reserved" table is unforgivable in any circumstance. By the time we were ordering (~10:30pm) our appetite had passed and we didn't want to eat too much given how late it was. Happy we tried it, but can never in good conscience return to a place that messes up one of the most basic aspects of running a restaurant. Just hope the mussels aren't waiting outside the fridge for as long as we waited in the doorway.
The food was outstanding- my issue was that our reservation was for 9:30pm and we didn’t get a table until 10:15. I was told it was because a group was taking a long time, but I would have expected maybe a free drink?. I would come back again but you should up your game if you want to be one of the best restaurants in the city.
The best Italian restaurant in the city. The food, service, ambiance and everything in between are incredible. If you can, sit at the chefs counter, but be sure to wear a t-shirt or thin sweater because it’s quite toasty.
Everything was extraordinary. The best dinner experience we have ever had.
Great food and definitely worth the price
Sommelier needs some customer service skills that’s my only contention. Overall a great dinner experience with 3 kids age range 8-14 yo
Everything about my experience at Giulietta was off the charts- food quality and portions were both amazing, I’m still thinking about the carpaccio and ravioli dishes! The team there are awesome: friendly and so attentive. I like music a lot and the stuff they were playing just added to the whole experience!! I will definitely go back! I’d love to sit at their bar by the open kitchen next time - it looked awesome!
Our table wasn't ready and we were asked to wait at the Bar for around 25-30 min before we got to our table. The service was distracted and not up to par for a restaurant at this price point. The redeeeming factor was the great food, which was definitely really good. Recommend the Ravioli and Branzino
This is the second time I’ve visited. Perhaps they are getting too popular and some of their high standards are being challenged. We felt rushed to finish as there’s no buffer in their reservations. The food IS good, servers are polite and professional. Maybe not best new restaurant level anymore but still very good.
amazing food, great atmosphere, Taylor and Vanessa made it a great experience! Thank you to both of them.
BOOK THE RESO, you dont want to miss out
Beyond so good
Amazing food and impeccable service, especially Austin and Taylor who really went above and beyond to make the experience unique and memorable. WoW.
We had a great time sitting at the Chef’s bar at Giulietta—the chef’s were quite willing to chat and we got to taste some of the ingredients going into the various dishes as well as find out about some of the ingredients. This seating works best for 2 or at the most 3 people if you want to chat. The pasta dishes were very tasty, the salads generous and the tiramisu is to die for.
Excellent food, highly recommend the pizza and Swiss chard and cauliflower salad in particular. The pizza, I think, is the best in Toronto (and this is a topic I've put a lot of thought into). Friendly and attentive service. Very nice decor: sleak and tasteful.
Can’t recommend enough - have any pasta, Swiss chard salad, octopus, and steak. Service always first class, friendly yet discreet. You can thank me later
A group of friends and I have been using the Canada's 100 Best list as a guide for which restaurants to eat at here in Toronto for the past couple years, and I can honestly say this is one of the best places we've been to. Everything about the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Would highly recommend and plan on going back very soon!
An amazing way to celebrate our 10 year anniversary.
It was my second time there. Awesome service, great food and fabulous ambiance. Try the octopus, ragu, or the crab pasta...best dishes. Also the tirimasu was beyond tasty 😋
Always a great meal, one of the best restaurants in Toronto.
Everything is 👌 and make sure to have the chamomile grappa at the end of the meal!
This place is an example of what restaurants should aspire towards. Service is spot on and food is outstanding!!!
