The food was fantastic great atmosphere very accommodating. Will be back and recommend.
Excellent meal, great service and ambiance . The Glo is our regular eating spot and will continue to be..
Everything was quite good...except the bartender does not know how to make a Margarita! Tried to improve it by adding tonic water!/!?
The menu had something for everyone: kao phuong bowl snd butter chicken bowl for me snd my wife and fish & chips snd a clubhouse sandwich for our teensge boys. For was prompt and tasty, and the price point was less than we expected for the location and ambiance. Can't best the view of the Gorge Waterway from the patio!
Service was good. Food was good. I enjoyed the beer. The temperature was too cold. It made the two hour 20th Birthday celebration uncomfortable. Noise level was too high such that we couldn’t have a conversation. These two concerns are easy to resolve by the owners and management. Dinning is the entire experience. It’s not just about the food. Parking is always a challenge at Glo.
Good happy hour, great view. Good selection of happy hour soecials
Four of us (old) friends get together a couple times a year for a dinner and this year I chose Glo.
I have been there before with various members of our family and other friends and have always thoroughly enjoyed it. Love the food, love the setting and our waiter this time was awesome.
Will definitely be back again.
The service we got from Ty was wonderful. My husband and I were in a date night and it made the evening perfect. Thank you 😊
Best venue in Victoria for dining and drinking alfresco.
I have Celiac and found Glo through an article on Celiac-friendly restaurants in Victoria. Not only did they have a huge gluten-free menu, but their gluten-free options were incredibly well-done. I ordered the tacos, flat bread, and creme brulee, and all were completely outstanding. The non-Celiac diners I was eating with said that their food was also fantastic. The service, ambiance, and overall experience were the phenomenal, and I would recommend Glo to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience.
My friend called to ask a question (day before). Was promised a call back and no call back was ever made.
But restaurant experience was great, food great service etc.
NICE WATERFRONT LOCATION, VARIETY ON MENU. WILL BE BACK,
Our waitress Monika was great! The food was amazing too, we’ll be back on our next trip!
The meal was great however we would have preferred our steaks as ordered. They were more done than what was ordered and we followed their own guidelines listed on the menu. Despite that they were very tasty and the service was excellent!
Chilly by the door inside on a colder eve! Tho great service and fun evening.
Excellent! Will recommend Glo to everyone - food and service outstanding
I booked this lunch over a week in advance and when I arrived I was seated at what appears to be the worst table in the restaurant just inside the entrance with no view other than the back of the hostess station. This is a waterfront place with a 270 degree view of the harbour but my table was awful. When I remarked to the staff they offered to seat me at another table that was only marginally better so I didn’t switch. I overheard several people ahead of me when I arrived and they did not have reservations and were seated in much nicer part of the restaurant. I had chosen the place specifically because of the great view but I probably won’t be back.
It was my first time at Glo! I was visiting from Calgary and meeting friends who live on the Island. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food, the taste, and price. Our server was attentive, and knowledgeable. The ambiance is energetic and fun. You can watch the Dragon Boat practices while enjoying a lovely meal. I would not hesitate recommending this fine restaurant.
Glo can always be counted on a wonderful summer day on the patio.
Great food, and the service was excellent!
3 friends traveling to the west coast for a friends birthday celebrations. Glo was perfect for us as 1 person is vegetarian and they had a separate vegetarian menu, so we all had so much to choose from.
Setting is beautiful, service was fantastic and the food was wonderful. Highly recommend.
I had requested outside seating when I made the reservations, but they said our reservations were for inside - strike 1. We were seated at a table inside with no view - strike 2. I got the wrong dinner served to me - strike 3, but not out because, our waitress - Amanda - was wonderful and the food was good (once I got the right dinner), so I gave a 3 star rating. It would have been higher if it weren't for the 3 strikes. Also would have been higher if the dinner menu was more varied. They had snapper, chicken, ribs or steaks with various toppings. If I wanted the halibut I had to pay extra and order off the Chef's Table menu that included dessert, which I didn't want. The steak selection only included NY strip or top sirloin - no filet mignon. But the overall ambiance was nice.
As usual Glo exceeded expectations. This is a favourite lunch venue and chef Doug’s cheesecake can’t be beat!
This is one of my favourites. The appy choice is especially good and everything is top quality. Ingredients are carefully chosen. Great location and good outdoor seating on summer days and evenings.
We thought the food was great. My wife and I tried some items from the Chef's Table menu (Blackened Creole Chicken & Bacon Wrapped Halibut). While my wife really enjoyed here chicken dish, I thought the halibut was dry. Overall, we enjoyed our evening at Glo.
Go only if you like being ignored by your waitress and waiting 50 mins for a starter.
Always enjoy Glo, and attend frequently as I work across the street.
Perhaps the best patio in town on a sunny day. Lovely views of the Gorge waterway. The food is always excellent. The Thai Peanut salad is delicious and abundant - couldn't finish it all.
Glo rocks. Been going there for years. Food is always consistent and the staff are management are amazing.
I'm always pleased when I come to this restaurant. The food is good, them atmosphere is excellent, and if you are lucky you can get a patio seat on a sunny day. My last visit, I had the fries as an appy, and they were awesome! I don't expect much from fries, but I was tempted to order more. They are dusted with something that might be Parmesan, I don't know, but it's really tasty. I ordered the Spicy Kung Pao Bowl. It wasn't very spicy and I found it a bit too sweet, but it was still very good, just not quite my taste. I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding for desert. Wow. Just Wow. I'll be back.
All four of our meals were very good (snapper, burger, fish tacos, pasta), and the view as always is fantastic on a summer evening. Glo remains one of my all time favourite restaurants in Victoria.
Our only complaint, which all 4 of us agreed, was the music was too loud (Fri 6pm). I appreciate you may be aiming for a DJ happy hour vibe, but my voice was hoarse after finishing our drinks. With the volume level turned down a bit, the vibe would be just as good :)
I had the Red Snapper, delicious!
Great gin cocktail too, really tasty.
All the tables have a view of the water.
A great place for dinner.
First time at Glo restaurant, it was good food fair price and service was excellent. Definitely will come back again.👍🏻
Good experience! I thought their vegetarian noodle bowl with tofu was a bit overpriced considering what it was, but I always have a good time at Glo.
`The food is always good. The service was up to your usual standard and they were very attentive to our food requirements. Generally a very enjoyable meal.
Glo is one of our go to spots. Love the view, service and food. My wife loves the steak sandwich and the amazing salads. Not a bad item on the menu!
This is a very popular restaurant and reservations are certainly recommended. Service is very good, they have a pretty large wait staff. A lot of choices on the menu, and both our orders were very tasty.
Found the Waiter very pushy to offer us the bill. Our foursome gets together twice a year and like to enjoy a pre dinner drink, dinner, & a coffee. We avoided the latter two as we felt rushed to get out of there.
Went here for a day early Mother’s Day dinner, and it was wonderful even though very busy. Great place to go to with both kids and adults as they have a good variety on the menu. The food we ordered came out pretty quick and was delicious.
Hostess was lovely Server as well❣️
