The Food was as good as any we ate in Florence Italy!
Love this place.
So delicious. Consistently.
My first time here for brunch, but won't be my last. I love this spot for dinner, or even just drinks, but it's a special treat for brunch too. I was meeting a friend with a very young infant, so I was anxious about space constraints, since it's such a small place, but they were very accommodating, and fortunately, there was room for us to spread out a bit. I would never expect that at dinner, but very much appreciated their gracious hospitality and gentle service. The food was exceptional, as always, but the service was stellar- unobtrusive, but present when needed. We really enjoyed our opportunity to catch up, and I will definitely be back. Thank you!
The experience is always such a positive one. From the moment you walk in you are transported into a foodie’s dream. The staff, service, ambiance are all above and beyond. The food is next level and every bite is thoughtfully prepared.
Sam took such great care of us: prepared excellent drinks, recommended fabulous dishes and respected our space while sharing stories about the restaurant and chef’s inspiration. Don’t miss out on this fantastic experience!
Very limited menu except lots of appetizers. Seems average for the cost.
The food was so unique and very delicious. Perfect portions.
First time and yes we will be back.
What a great find if you haven’t been make a reservation
You won’t regret it!
Fantastic food. A high quality restaurant done right. One thing: the ambiance feels a little more casual than the food. We had to speak louder than desired to hear one another at times. And a candle at the table felt a little off in a room so well lit.
Food was amazing, though I wasn't thrilled with the dessert. Service wasn't anything to write home about.
Very good! We've enjoyed their pastas and nice cocktails. Very attentive, informed servers.
Octopus app was a little chewy but our entrees (gnocchi and tagliatelle) were very good and you could tell the pasta was made in-house. I wasn't blown away by anything though. The menu is small, but that may help in keeping quality high. Decor was very nice inside for such an unassuming place outside, and the service was really good. They also have a unique wine menu with many Italian wines. Maybe my experience was spoiled by seeing so many good reviews - I was just expecting something more.
Always an amazing Brunch, Food and Experience! Sam, our bartender, host, server and general good will guy make this a place to return to.
We had a fantastic dinner this past Saturday night! Lots of small plate options that are very creative and tasty. Well thought out wine list and a great selection by the glass. Our waitress has obviously worked here for a while! She was extremely knowledgeable about the ingredients and preparations of all of the dishes and the service was incredible.
Loved the food, service, and cocktails!
This is a charming place with a tight, interesting menu that makes it easy to build a meal of dishes that are unique. We ate in the small back room which was cozy without being claustrophic. The server was the star as he directed us as to the number of dishes we would want and what were some particular specialties. The food delivery was timed perfectly and we were never rushed.
It was a first class experience and a good value.
Celebrating a big birthday—our waitress made it special with a great dessert and great service
This has been on our list of places to go for a while. Now I'm kicking myself that we waited so long to go. Food was great, unique and had good sized portions. Also, it came out super quick --- but enough time between courses. I'm not sure how they got it out so fast given that the restaurant seemed packed!! We tried 2 pastas and a few apps. The seafood apps were awesome (octopus was tender and the sauce and potatoes were great...and the seafood salad was big and super fresh tasting!). Also had a foie gras app that was very cool. They put it on top of a piece of carrot cake. The foie gras was perfect. The carrot cake was perfectly dense and moist...think a version of tres leches cake. Definitely the best carrot cake I have ever had.
The pastas (gnocchi and a burrata stuffed pasta) we're also great. The saffron gnocchi could have had a bit more saffron but was otherwise awesome. The sauces we're tasty and everything was cooked perfectly.
Interesting appetisers and a good selection of wines by the glass and beers. The roasted chestnut soup was a find, creamy with the crunch of a chopped pear garnish and drizzled with balsamic glaze. the seafood salad was outstanding: fresh, flavorful and generous. And the fried octopus-- wow! Only the pork cheeks failed to thrill: they needed a more flavorful sauce. I'd definitely go back. Service was attentative and thoughtful too
This place was lights out... amazing. We ordered the grilled octopus and oysters to start. For dinner we shared two large orders of the gnocchi and lamb ragu. The octopus was the star of the evening but all the other dishes weren’t too far behind. You’ll leave happy and belly’s full.
The service was very good and the ambiance was warm and inviting.
Super food and service
Willing to please
A definite and worth drive
Always exceptional. The fried olives are such a tasty starter. We also had the mozzarella and chicken liver mouse small plates. So very good! The pasta plates always outstanding.
Hidden gem - best restaurant in the city!
Wow! This is some of the best food I have had in a long time. Creative, interesting, flavorful. Also at very reasonable prices for what the quality. Also great wine list also at reasonable prices.
Few restaurants have achieved a limited menu with so many choices that I really wanted to try.
This is sort of an Italian restaurant, but probably not like any Italian restaurant you have been to. It is a small neighborhood restaurant that is world class.
Great place for a dining experience. Staff is very nice and restaurant is very intimate. We got small plates to try lots of things and all were very delicious.
We had a quiet dinner with an excellent server and the food was delicious.
7:30 on a Sunday, not peak time, so quiet and unhurried staff. Menu, primarily small plates, is on short side but balanced and varied with option of 1/2 portion for entrees. Nice wine selection again varied in price and region. Interior and furnishings are uninspired, not up to level of food offerings, but the latter is why you're there.
The food was elegant and elevated, but not pretentious. The atmosphere is simple, yet smart. Our server was pleasant and well educated. It wasn’t my first time at Gnocchetto and it won’t be the last.
This was our 2nd visit to Gnoccetto and if anything it's gotten better - if that's even possible! Why this place is not constantly filled to overflowing is beyond me, because everything is so good and the place is so welcoming and well-run. When 4 of us got there around 6:30 on a Sunday night there were still plenty of seats at the bar and only a few tables eating on the other side - go figure. Great for us though since we had excellent cocktails and crispy olives (who knew olives could be so delicious?) before moving to our table - no need to pay our bar bill they said, it would follow us (we left a separate tip anyway because the barman was so nice!).
Special appetizer was "goose barnacles" - yes you read that right, barnacles on the menu - so I just had to try them. They were like a cross between small mussels and Chesapeake "steamers" (softshell clams with a big foot that you use as a handle to pull out the rest); also reminded me of eating steamed snails with a pin in Spain because I had to use a toothpick to get the last of the tender meat out of the little shell! We also ordered more crispy olives because they were so fun to eat (and one of us has a thing for olives).
Otherwise we ordered several small plates and shared (I love that the pastas all come in small or large portions!) - melt-in-your-mouth calamari with tender squid-ink gnocchi; the always excellent grilled Spanish octopus; amazingly delicious roasted pork meatballs; cavatelli with swiss chard/lamb ragù (OMG took me right back to Tuscany!); large gently-fried oysters (I like them saltier, but that's just me); chestnut and goat cheese OH MY ravioli with a tender braised shortrib shreds and caramelized onions... making my mouth water all over again.
Thank goodness we saved room for dessert - the best perfectly crispy outside / tender inside churros, w/chocolate sauce and cinnamon ice cream - 'nuff said.
Amazing food ! Italian comfort food, makes me think there is a super nice Italian granny in the kitchen cooking up all this goodness.
My husband and I️ truly enjoyed our date night! We felt well taken care of from start to finish and the small plates and pasta we tried were exquisite. We appreciated the complimentary wine while we waited for our reservation.
Lovely homemade pastas. Nice variety of antipasta, too. The only thing I would change is the lighting in the dining room. It's too dark or not dark enough, just wrong somehow.
Great octopus, crispy olives and gnocchi. Loved cocktail Vaccino. Good wine selection. Nice looking place. Would highly recommend.
This was our 2nd time there and the food and cocktails were still good. The menu changed since the last time we were there so we got to try new food, new drinks. The service was good and professional. I like the fact that they have 2 sizes for the entrees so you can try different dishes. Will come back again, soon.
Gnocchetto was the perfect place to catch up with a colleague for dinner and glass of wine. The place is darling, quiet and perfect for conversation - service amazing! We especially enjoyed the octopus starter and the small plate size. Will definitely return.
This was my first time at Gnocchetto and I could not have been more pleased. The restaurant itself was small, well designed with a cozy feel. Drinks at the bar were house specials and were tasty and a lovely way to first experience the restaurant. I eat fish but no meat or poultry and there were plenty of options. Pasta was perfect and it was nice that a 1/2 portion was offered so that I could enjoy more appetizers! Wine that was recommended with dinner was a perfect pairing. Service was responsive and knowledgeable but not intrusive. Would definitely return.
This is our go to spot for brunch or nice dinner especially if friends visiting from out of town. I have never had anything but an excellent experience at this restaurant. They were even nice enough to accommodate us by opening early on Sunday as we thought they opened at 10:30 - actual opening is 11am. Great service al around.
Great food and drinks. Very intimate setting, quiet
I’m in love with this place. Chef Lavin never disappoints with the seasonal ingredients and ever changing menu. Cannot say enough good things about the food, ambiance and staff.
The grilled octopus appetizer was my favorite thing I ate. My friend and I tried this place for dinner on a whim, it was our first time dining here. I feel like the pasta dishes were good, I would definitely try something else next time. I originally wanted to get the smaller portions and try a few but the waiter suggested we both go with bigger portions because the smaller ones were “too small” and would not fill us up. But I think he was wrong. My friend got the lamb ragu and I got the squid ink pasta....as a huge fan of squid ink, I was a little disappointed. It was decent, but I’ve had better. The lamb was definitely the better choice, but not a lot of pasta...more lamb. I would definitely try this place again later on since the menu does change to give it another shot. The ambiance is the best part of this restaurant for sure. It’s super cute inside.
