   Very beautifully decorated. Not at all busy on the Saturday we went. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation time but they seated us immediately. Only 3 parties in total in the dining room. Food is brought out from an external kitchen it seems. Our server offered us additional food multiple times (this is great if you prefer the savory foods over the sweets). Tea is really high quality -- I recommend the oolong tea; it tastes traditional as a Chinese diner.

   I had the most wonderful afternoon tea experience at Goldie's. The lovely hostess and my server, Marco, created a warm environment, answered all of my questions, and were so very attentive to my needs. The atmosphere is delightful and groovy. I enjoyed being in a small room with other afternoon tea-goers. The food was delicious and the tea hot and free-flowing. I will definitely be back again myself and with friends.    I treated my mother and grandmother to their Mother’s Day tea special and everything was phenomenal. The food and atmosphere were very luxe and cozy. The staff were so attentive and friendly. This is my first afternoon tea in Austin and I would happily come back here for any occasion. I’ll never forget this experience. Thank you, Goldie’s for a great Mother’s Day!

   Scones would have been much better if warmed because they were too dense. Cucumber/cream cheese sandwich would be much better if more ingredients OR less bread. Salmon sandwich was delicious, but too small - only 2 bites. Clotted cream is better at room temperature. Teas (Early Grey and Mad Hatters) were awesome

   We dined for afternoon tea. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I gave an overall 4 stars because I would have liked a LITTLE more savory food for what we paid. We were offered even more scones and tea at the end, but the savory food to sweet food ratio was a bit off.

    For 4 people, this just isn’t worth $350 including tip, with no alcohol even purchased. Some of the seating options are small stools which are extremely uncomfortable so it sucks if you get those. The food was delicious, just very small quantities.

    What an exquisite place to be for ones birthday. The service was superb and knowledgeable. Fidor and Ana were so sweet and made my birthday wonderfully special! CHEERS to the chef for sending us another round of savory. Details in the interior design was undoubtedly spectacular. so cozy

    The afternoon tea is a complete ripoff. The portion sizes of the accompanying sandwiches and pastries are laughable considering that the cost is $60 per person, not including tax and tip. This would not even fill up a toddler! I know that many restaurants are shrinking portion sizes to maximize their profit margin amid rising food costs, but this is just straight up stingy. You’d be better off purchasing some delicious full size pastries and sandwiches from a good bakery and brewing up a pot of tea at home.

    Very nice tea, impeccable service, lovely vibe, tasty but very, very tiny food. Came away pretty hungry. Not like traditional high teas for the same price that we’re used to. One off for sure.

    I honestly feel I was over charged for the tea time. The Driskell Hotel gave me for their tea time. They greet you with champagne and water at the door when you first enter and put your name plate on the table. Portions were much more. For the same price , you get double the portions. You get greeted at the door with champagne and water and a name plate at your table. Will not be coming back soon and would recommend the Driskell Hotel for tea time .

    Very much looking for a wonderful afternoon tea experience although the food was very underwhelming. Typically there are an assortment of sandwiches, scones and pastries. There were 3 types of sandwiches but the portions were about 2 quarters long. Typical tea houses would have 6 sand which options. There was 1 scone option also the size of one quarter and one macaroon option. There were few tea options that were served in glass cups which meant it was easily cold. The tea pots were stainless steal so our last two cups were cold. Overall: undersized portions, limited quantity, limited tea options and cold tea in a very elegant setting. Service was wonderful.

    The only reason this is 4 stars is because they say everything is bigger in Texas and they need to follow suite with the food tray. 5 star ambiance, 5 star service, 5 star location, 5 star tea. The food itself is very good quality, but very small portion. Treat this as a snack, not a meal!

    Beautifully decorated, quaint restaurant for high tea. Excellent Service as the staff seems to really have their stuff together. I would say add a couple of more sandwiches to the afternoon tea flight as we were a bit hungry after high tea (and we are not heavy eaters). Did enjoy the experience as the high tea bites were delicious, though a bit scarce.

    We had a great time at Goldies! We all signed up for the afternoon tea - it was delish but very, very little food for $60. There were 6 of us in our group and each couple got one three tiered tea stand. That works out to one tiny piece of each of the following: butter scone, cucumber sandwich, smoked salmon canape, radishes, macaron, chocolate square, madeline. We ended up eating at their lounge afterwards because we were all starving.

    The Tea Service at the Proper Hotel is a snack, not a meal, and for $60 per person without alcohol, it is steep - pun intended. While the tiny, bite size portions are tasty, you will leave hungry and a little disenchanted with the experience. On the positive side, the service was excellent and the ambience was hip bohemian.

    Wow, what a gorgeous setting for an afternoon tea! The service was just as great as the atmosphere. The tea selection was unique and really yummy. Austin has been needing another lovely place for an afternoon tea and I am so excited Goldies is now offering one. The only negative is they could give a bigger portion of food...compared to other teas I have been to in Austin, London, NYC, Chicago, Houston & Boston, I feel like they could increase the portion size (like maybe just full size scones) and that would be nice. But overall really awesome and I will go again!

    The bites were tasty; however the amount of tea far outweighed the food. This would have been OK conceptually, except for the price. The decor was lovely, but music would've elevated it -- tere were only a few others there, so it was too quiet. Pre-order accommodations for my GF friend would've been nice as well.

    We were disappointed in the high tea. The service was excellent, the space at Goldies is beautiful, but the food was so so so tiny. Miniature and there was only 2 tiers, no refills. We had a mini cucumber sandwich, a tiny triangle smoked salmon sandwich and a leaf shaped egg salad sandwich. The word sandwich should not even be used here, it was so tiny, more appropriate for my 3 pound chihuahua! The scone, macaroon, and chocolate mousse were so tiny as well. For the $100 we spent each (included one glass of champagne) we were so hungry still. We went upstairs to la piscina and ate afterwards (which was excellent) Save your high tea experiences for New York 👎🏽
