The food was excellent. Hollandaise on the crab Benedict was perfectly done. The crab cake was small but delicious. Coffee was excellent. A few minor rough edges on the service. No spoons included with fork and knife. No butter. No salt & pepper. Prices would indicate that these details would be noticed.

Don't do their Mother's Day brunch. Not in the actual restaurant, it's in a banquet hall. The food selection was very sparse. Won't be back.

Goodall's is just getting back into the afternoon tea business, so I understand that there are some kinks to be worked out, such as the following... There should be milk/sugar/honey brought out with the tea, and some saucers or something. We asked for honey, but it just became a mess sitting there on the table, and the tea set didn't feel very special considering that was the whole point. The food was ok but needed some touches like sea salt, olive oil, etc. The macarons were a bit stale, and the biscuits need to be completely different. The waitress was somewhat knowledgeable, but she didn't really sell the experience, to be honest. Saying something looks good doesn't mean much. The manager was very kind and asked for feedback, so I hate to post this publicly but I do think it will help them recognize some things they can improve upon. The tea was delicious and the room was cute albeit empty, and I'd like to go back once they've really gotten into the groove. It was way cheaper than most tea places, and with a little improvement, they could be packed at all times in the future.

We had a great time at Goodall’s. We chose it because of its location. It’s excellently nestled between campus and downtown, but not flooded with students or too loud to have an actual conversation over dinner. Our server was wonderful; attentive, but not overbearing. The manager brought our food and made sure we were having a good time. There’s a solid cocktail selection and while the menu is simple, everything was perfectly prepared. It was just an overall great experience. We’ll be back.

Update, the restaurant has responded in a very positive manor, we will definitely try it again. We were there for the Easter brunch & it is definitely not worth the price.

Eggs and bacon for Easter Brunch with hard biscuits? No fruit. No children's deserts (only mocha and carrot flavored). Spinach leaves with sliced radish for your greens. The service was beyond terrible for $400. We had to stack plates and wave anyone who would look at us to get a drink. It was very pretty and the staff were kind but the menu was embarrassing. There wasn't a reason to visit the "buffet" more than one time, we only stayed about an hour because there really wasn't any reason to stay. We have been here in years past and it looks like they have adopted the "inflation menu". All cheap eats with zero creativity. Do better Goodall's!

We were told the menu would be the regular brunch menu but it was a special Easter buffet - which did not offer much variety- hardly any vegetable options and no fruit at all, a standard at a spring buffet. Drinks took forever to arrive from downstairs or wherever they were coming from, and overall it was very slow service. Two separate orders of coffee also arrived ice cold in our coffee cups. I would have expected much better from such a well-known hotel on a holiday occasion.

Visited Goodalls for breakfast for my daughters birthday. Party of 3 at 10am. The place was empty. I had been looking forward to visiting Hotel Ella and this charming little restaurant but was so disappointed. The service was unbelievably slow even though we were the only table. The coffee was cold, bacon was over cooked to the point where it crumbled like powder, and we had to ask for every individual thing like salt and pepper, more water, a place setting for my daughter, etc. the manager had setup his laptop work station in the middle of the restaurant and checked his email throughout our meal. It wasn't offensive, but just odd to see a staff member working next to us like we were eating in his office. I wont be going back.

Pasta overcooked, sauce at best lukewarm. Order for appetizers with our drinks we were almost finished with our drinks when they brought them and only because I complained. The restaurant was empty only another table of 4 and they say it was because their order came in. ….. Poor service, overall food was not good and we felt uncomfortable to have invited our guest to this place

Lovely hotel and restaurant in a historical landmark building. Food was great, atmosphere divine sitting in the wraparound patio with the breeze, and service was attentive if slow.

We have dined at Goodall's several times, a great experience each time. But this last time was a huge disappointment. Gone is the classy menu of scallops, etc. In it's place are burgers and tacos. I had the deconstructed tacos. It came with three tortillas with filling for only two. No rice or beans. I could have easily gotten better tacos at any of the hundreds of taco joints around Austin. I am not sure what has happened to Goodalls, but the menu and the quality of food have sharply declined. On a positive note, our server was kind and wonderful. The problem is in the kitchen.

The staff never acknowledged our reservation. It was like they could care less. They were fairly busy. The breakfast was good, the burger was good, and the avocado toast was adequate. The avocado was very cold which made the egg cold. The toast, also cold, was as hard as a rock and difficult to eat. The overall experience was adequate.

We went for brunch and the menu was super limited. There was nothing sweet on it and all the food just tasted like onion. It was not what we excepted for such a nice place that is attached to a beautiful hotel.
