   Creative menu, food was very tasty. Drink menu was interesting, tried a few different cocktails with a unique twist. Eclectic music choices, not overly loud - could still converse. A little pricey, but for a special occasion was worth the money.

   Great spot for a date night. They take excellent care with execution - flavours, presentation and overall preparation is spot on. We enjoyed the service and food. Arrived in time for happy hour (half price wine, beer and sake) was the cherry on top!

   I had their chicken paitan ramen bowl and the fresh egg noodles were amazing! But the egg was a bit too salty compared to most ramen places in Calgary.

   I don’t usually leave reviews, but had to in this case because the service we got last night was truly amazing. We had a large group and never once did I run out of water, beer, or food. I didn’t understand the menu so our server ordered something for me and explained what it was. Our food came out all at the same time for our group of 9. Being a busy mom, I’m always running around looking after my family so I was looking forward to a nice meal with adults and this restaurant exceeded expectations. Our group was very happy with the food quality and taste; the drinks menu was varied enough that everyone got something they could enjoy. Thanks again for making our night out a blast!

    Food was decent and fresh, but it’s a small place and it was too cold to sit by the door and it was a hard and noisy, impossible not to hear everyone else’s conversations . Good for a fun night not so good for a date.

    Overall meh! A starter was forgotten and brought during entrees. It felt like they were rushing us to get out and we had a 6:15 pm reservation The dishes also seemed forced and quickly put together. Either over sauced or poorly plated. Do not think we would go again. Too bad as we like the fusion concept and the overall ambiance was nice

    Great meal and service. The only good item I thought was “meh” were the Gorilla buns. We didn’t find they had a lot of flavour. However, the burger and sous vide pork were exceptional, as was the service. We will definitely return.

    Gorilla Whale is quickly becoming my favourite go-to for casual dining. The sharable plates are fun way to sample lots of flavors. You can't go wrong because each dish is more delicious than the last and most of the menu can be made gluten free or vegan. Servers are always friendly and attentive and the ambiance is upbeat and lively.

    Absolutely delicious food a really mix of Korean/Japanese casual bites. Perfect portion sizes great for sharing. Rice bowls are heavenly. Fried chicken is amazing. Must eat here great music too. Casual but cool.

    Great atmosphere and very interesting dishes and drinks. Our rice dish had noticeably too much vinegar in it, but given COVID issues, have to give them a break. Surprising cool and vibrant spot.

    Gorilla Whale is a great place, service is attentive but not overbearing, the food is unique and delicious. This was my 2nd visit and loved it again. Brought another couple and they really enjoyed the night out too
