Grand Cru Deli
The food there was simply amazing. It is a must try and we will definitely be back. The wine selection is incredible as well. Cannot recommend enough. If this pops up on your radar and you are thinking about going, do yourself a favor and go!!
This is becoming my new favourite place downtown. The menu is a selection of classics and tasty bites that are exactly what you want for a simple dinner. The wine selection is, of course, very good.
Excellent service from very friendly staff, delicious food and great wine menu. Will be back!
Incredible food with amazing wines and outstanding service.
The food was wonderful. It is not an extensive menu but enough to keep you happy while sipping a fantastic glass of wine. And the movie theater is across the street for after :)
Perfection! Wine selection and menu are great, the service is friendly and knowledgeable, and the ambiance is welcoming and comfortable.
Service speed needs to pick up, the food took a long time to serve for a lunch service.
Great little spot for wine and snacks/dinner. The setting is cheerful and relaxed, wines are tasty, and the servers were all super nice and knowledgeable without a hint of pretension. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of charcuterie and the airy chicken liver mousse, and I could have eaten vats of the toasty warm Cerignola olives. The picked mackerel was a refreshing start! I'd definitely come back, whether for a full meal again or stopping by for a glass of wine before a movie.
Fantastic, quiet wine bar with attentive and knowledgable staff. Great atmosphere, good wine, food and service.
Service was warm and accommodating and the meal was perfect. The menu is a great high-low hybrid that I really appreciate - have to love the ketchup chips alongside a perfect, delicate salad! It is a bright spot in a neighbourhood shadowed by mediocre chains.
We really enjoyed our experience and the food but we found the amount of wine we got for a $15 price was very skimpy in comparison to other restaurants around the area.
Service was great, food was delicious, just quite expensive for the portion size.
A great experience - cant wait to go back for the flight tasting!
The food was very good. We had two of the specials and they were excellent. Would definitely recommend it, especially convenient before theatre.
Was excited to try Grand Cru Deli!
It did not disappoint.
Great food, amazing wine and lovely service with some delicious suggestions.
Looking forward to coming back.
Great wine + great food. What more could you want. The ketchup fries are the best thing ever!!!!
Perfect spot for the wine geeks out there. One must order the mystery wine. Impeccable service. Thank you!
The highlight tonight, warm cerignola olives!
It may be a "deli" but the "Grand Cru" elevates it to the likes of Prunier in Paris. Impressive quality, my favourite was the mussels escabeche, mackerel, the cheese course served with an outstanding not too sweet marmalade and the highlight, as it is most important here, the toast was absolute perfection! Surprise wines were all sensational ... such a lovely treat to taste blind ... a flight of three surprise reds at the end could only have been chosen by a Master Sommelier, they were superb. There is no other place like this in Toronto, it is an absolute hit with all at our table!
I've been excitedly anticipating this opening so went in on the 2nd day open for a couple of drinks and a small bite to eat. The menu looks really exciting, I only had 1 small plate so can't speak to it overall, but the olives were excellent; meaty and warm.
I was there early so it wasn't busy yet but the space is great.
The wine list is an exciting selection, as to be expected, and having daily blinds is a great feature. I enjoyed the surprise white and 1 of the surprise reds. Both were reasonably priced and lots of fun. After doing the blind the somm on that evening (Marie/MC) came over and chatted through the tasting, which was lovely.
Congratulations to the team on the opening!
Just starting up - the new project by master sommellier Bruce Wallner. The "by the glass" list is interesting and fun, with food-friendly wines that are also great for sipping. And the food is excellent too, with lots of potential for grazing and sharing.
