   Fish, as always is fresh and nicely cooked. Meals were good pub standard though portions are smaller than they were and prices seem higher. Servers didn't seem very happy or very well trained. It was a convenient place to meet up with loads of parking. And being able to reserve a table swung it for us.

   Cod and chips are normally really nice but the portion size was small last night and the battered cod overcooked - definitely not worth the £15.00 that it's down as! Wouldn't have minded so much if we had the 2 for 1 on fish and chips deal they do on a Wednesday but they only had it on the haddock last night. Nice to see it was busy but had to chase the waitress up after 20 minutes just for the dessert board (she forgot the first time we asked for it) as we were never approached by anyone after the table was cleared to ask if we wanted any desserts or drinks. Normally get very good food and service but it definitely wasn't the usual high standards last night - fingers crossed it was a one off as normally the food and service is really good. They had also run out of pretty much all of the cakes they do (and they do a huge selection) but the hot chocolate pudding was very nice!

   Staff were very helpful and pleasant (except, perhaps, for one of the waiters who pointed out that he only had one pair of hands when we requested cutlery). The food was excellent and well prepared.

   Overall a very nice evening. Food was really good value. The only thing that let the evening down was the setting. We had booked to eat outside as the weather was nice, unfortuantely outside turned out to be a dining area with windows which made it unbearably hot and stuffy. There was outside seating but we were advised this was for takeaway only and indide dining was fuly booked.

   Our waitress was awful and rather quite rude. She got 2 out of the 4 lunch time meals we ordered incorrect. Whilst taking our order we asked what was fish of the day, she said she didn’t know. There was no effort or offer to find out for us. When we told the lady from the kitchen who bought the food to the table about the errors she seemed visibly frustrated with us and didn’t apologise until much later in the meal. We were made to feel like we were being difficult. I think that frustration needs to be turned internally to the terrible waitress who took the order. The food was mediocre at best which was a shame as we were excited at the prospect of fresh farm produce. My advice would be that farm shop is great but avoid the cafe.

    We had booked afternoon tea and confirmed by email, but the booking hadn’t been passed through to the waitressing team. The service was poor overall - not enough cutlery, plates etc. we had to keep asking for more things. When our food arrived, the bread was stale so we had to request new sandwiches. The service and quality of food has never been a problem before, it was disappointing.

    Lovely food, however this is not the first time we’ve not had cutlery or staff ask us if we want anything. Had to keep asking for things when food had already came out because er wanted some sauce or cutlery. Wasn’t the same waiter, it was several. Service would be better if they asked the basic questions and we had cutlery to be able to eat. Overall the food is always lovely

    The location is great, and there's plenty to keep young kids interested with the animals and outside play area. This is especially important since so few places locally cater to families, and it's the reason I keep coming back. On the slightly annoying side, when you sit inside, the lighting they use are these annoying spotlights. I've tried sitting in different seats, but quite often, I have to move tables because these spotlights shine in your eyes. Also, the food is very average. Every single time I eat here and have breakfast, the eggs are always kept under the heat lamps for too long, and they aren't nice. They always end up hard, despite asking for runny eggs. However, the fish and chips here are very good!

    Fairly quiet week day lunch. Music really very loud making it difficult to chat. Service was ok but after good brought out no one asked if our meal was ok or if we wanted anything else or gave us a bill. Meal was fine but, like everywhere, prices have gone up.     I haven’t visited for some time and was surprised at how empty the restaurant was compared to previous visits when booking was essential most evenings of the week in fine weather . The menu had shrunk, the prices increased. It didn’t have the friendly feel or welcome that there previously was. It felt more corporate and like a chain rather than a local family business. Thank fully the produce still remains that way which would be the only reason for me to return, albeit for takeaway.

    Although the food and service was very good, I personally think that more pies and sausage rolls should be made for the restaurant as there were none available at lunch time, and also more fresh crab meat etc should be available, the prices of the meals seem to have risen a lot in the past few weeks which is a bit disappointing as they were very reasonable some time ago.

    Another excellent breakfast with quality ingredients well presented. Highlights included the sausage, mushroom and bacon. The eggs were good and slightly runny but suffered from being on a volcanically hot plate. The tea was also excellent. Slight negatives include the fact that the general decor and seats in particular are looking very tired, the gas heaters were on needlessly wasting energy and putting out co2. The beans came on the eggs not as is usual on the side. This was rectified but need to buy more crockery. Service was good but rather slow. Main criticism is the paying. Having to queue up for more than 10 minutes just to pay is not acceptable. Buy more card machines and take payment at the table.

    Farmhouse breakfast was missing mushrooms, no explanation and no alternative offered. No reduction in price. Was a bit too cold inside! The food is very good quality and well prepared. It was a shame the mushrooms were missing and the toast for two people was just on one plate which is a bit awkward.

    Our party all had the fish and chips and we all agreed that overall the experience was very good. The food was was excellent and we will certainly be back to sample the other dishes on offer. An extra bonus is being to able to walk round the farm shop afterwards and purchase some of the excellent local produce on offer.

    Excellent service from very helpful and efficient staff. We were served very quickly and there was a minimum wait for our order to arrive. My only issue would be that the music is rather loud. Lovely farm shop that sells almost everything you need. Then you can walk off lunch round the farm trail looking at the animals. I highly recommend the cafe and will continue to come back time and time again.

    Very unhelpful staff in the restaurant. The cakes and the scones were dry and tasteless. Would not eat here again. The farm shop was ok obviously expensive but no more than I would expect. The animals were lovely .
