Only trouble...hard to get a table if you are two people even if you think you have reserved one so you end up at the chefs bar....i.e counter.
Amazing service and amazing food. Looking at the menu,I was underwhelmed and was concerned that nothing we ordered would be particularly tasty, but every dish melted in your mouth! Beautifully presented, unique in flavours. A definite must if you're living in or visiting Toronto.
All around, fantastic dining and drink experience. The drinks were great, the food was superb, and the service was warm and friendly. We took my mother for her 65th birthday, and it was the perfect restaurant to celebrate this special occasion. Kudos to the team at Grey Gardens.
The wine selection was extensive, and the accompanying food was very good. I thought the pork tongue was remarkably fine, as was the pasta with chanterelles. The service was flawless. It was a relief to find a bar where my friends and I could talk without music and background noise drowning our conversation. Prices were reasonable, considering the quality. Street parking is possible. I will certainly go there again.
Portions are way too small for the price. Great flavor and outstanding cocktails but need serious adjustments in prices
Service is top notch, food is great. Enormous wine list. Had a great time here, we'll be back!
I love Grey Gardens innovative menu, exceptional wine list and amazing service. One of my favorite restaurants in Toronto.
This place is awesome. Sitting at the chef’s bar is a pleasure watching the calm and talented chefs prepare the brilliant dishes.
This was my second experience at Grey Gardens and it was, again, wonderful. I was celebrating an anniversary milestone and our server immediately brought us some complimentary sparkling wine. The food is incredible, each plate with developed and unique flavour, and the wine list is full of amazing choices. The servers are all incredibly kind and helpful. I will return often!
A delicious restaurant in the heart of Kensington Market. Street parking right in front. Absolutely outstanding food. Really fun to sit at the bar and watch the chef's prep the incredible food. The menu looks straight forward till you taste each dish. Can't wait to go back.
Located in the hip Kensington neighborhood, Grey Gardens has catapulted its status through its accessible but inventive food. My samplings (ok I ate all of it) included: a riff on (smoked) fish-and-chips via dip, a zucchini, fennel and sesame fennel salad, a wonderfully bright heirloom tomato, mint, melon salad topped with chili flakes and buttered panko, pickerel fish over bok choy, and lastly a peach and peanut cake finished in a hot pan of butter over a basil cream and topped with peanut brittle with peach sorbet... all with a view of the kitchen expediting process!
Great atmosphere and amazing amazing team! Excellent food with a perfect focus on pure & powerful taste
Good food, but it was very hot in the restaurant...detracted from the meal.
Fantastic food. Delicious cocktails and great wine list.
We had a perfect evening. Thank you to all of you for making our experience so wonderful!
What an outstanding dinner! Every dish was a 100% keeper
Great food, nice lighting, friendly staff, romantic, a little too loud
We Love Grey Gardens! 5 times and it’s never disappointed us.
Amazing as always
We had four ladies sitting next to us that screamed at each other whole night. It was quite obnoxious to tell you the truth.
The food was interesting and different, the service was perfect and friendly, and overall we really enjoyed ourselves.
We loved the whole evening from start to finish.
Stunning flavors. I couldn't believe how original and tasty the food was. Not cheap, but so worth it
The food was incredible - really amazing and the service and the venue was fantastic. Wine was to die for. The only negative was that the music was really really bad - terrible 80s music.
But we loved the place.
Food and service were excellent as always! The staff always goes above and beyond and makes it an easy choice when looking for consistently delicious meals and ambience.
Delicious food and amazing presentation. Fish was wonderful
The service was truly spectacular. We let the server choose our food and wine and it was incredible. It was expensive and worth it. Perfect for a special treat.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend this spot.
Food and service was spectacular!
Exceptional experience with excellent food, low key but talented servers and service. Nothing needed was missed by anyone and arrived to our table before having to ask. Great wine list; extensive and full range of options.
The ravioli and the pickerel were amazing! We had a great waiter who gave outstanding service. The place was beautiful and trendy. I loved it!
Great food and even better service. Thank you for a great dinning experience :)
Very nice and cosy atmosphere. However, the food and drinks are WAY too overpriced for the amount that you get. You would expect a decent portion for a $30 pasta, but in reality, it was only a few spoonfuls. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted great, but the portions were extremely small. I expect fancy restaurants to give tiny portions because that's the stereotype, but I didn't expect Grey Gardens to fall into that category.
Lovely service and atmosphere. Food was great, enjoyed every dish. One of my best meals in a while!
Awesome food and friendly service.
I have been to GG several times, and each time has been lovely. This was our 7th wedding anniversary, which I didn't mention to the staff because it's personal - for the life of me I don't understand why people feel the need to broadcast their life events to restaurant staff, they have better things to do than bringing you a sparkler or what not. For the first time we were assigned seats at the counter - which, strangely, most people seem to dislike, but this is actually what we prefer, and they were very comfortable. At some point they suggested moving us to a table and we declined. The service was excellent, and although I'm not asking for a Cheers-like "where everybody knows your name" experience, being told "welcome back" and having my gluten intolerance remembered, that's very rare in this city and I appreciated it - as actually having something I can eat! I won't bother describing the food because it changes often - suffice it to say it's delicious. The wine list is unusual and worth studying in advance; I chose a delightfully odd bottle by Italian winemaker Arianna Occhipinti that I am going to dream about for some time. As always the ambiance is perfect and you cannot help but have a great evening. Thanks again Ms. Agg!
Chose Grey Gardens for a reunion with an old friend and was so glad I did. It was such fun sitting at the bar and we were able to hear each other talk. Each dish was absolutely delicious — strawberry churros dessert amazing. Only criticism is that service was very slow to start. We waited quite a while to be offered a drink and didn’t feel terribly welcome. In the end, though, a great evening.
Delicious food in a chic and bustling atmosphere.
Loved my spritz- perfect for a hot summer night!
Fantastic food, great service. Unique plates and even though dishes are designed for sharing you get your money’s worth and leave feeling full.
This was the worst restaurant experience I ever had! Our food was not cooked, over priced, tasted awful. Do yourself favor and go check out the pizza place down the street instead, you will be far more satisfied.
