Food is delicious! Every single dish we ordered was really good. The menu is different from my previous visit, so it’s like coming to a new place again. This time around is even better, I’d say. Service was friendly and she checked in on us quite often, but did not come across as intrusive. Def recommend!
The whole experience was perfect. Excellent food served by Ben who was so engaged and made our evening just superb. He selected an excellent wine and suggested the right assortment and quantity of dishes. All were outstanding!! All the staff are so friendly and obviously very proud of what they do. It was a unique and extremely enjoyable evening. Thank you!!
This was second time at Grey Garden and it was amazing.
The dishes were outstanding. We really enjoyed the beef cheeks. So flavourful and tender.
I was there with my 81 year old mother in law and was wondering if she be up for the more adventurous good. I needn’t have worried as she was as effusive as me about the food. Great evening all round - highly recommend.
Great! From start to finish, had a fantastic night. Would definitely recommend.
The food was fabulous, our waiter was knowledgeable about the food and wine. The only negative was the noise level. The music was just too loud for good conversation. We asked three times to have the music turned down. I suspect he couldn’t hear us.
Would we go back and would we recommend friends go? Yes we would. But we would go with someone we don’t want to have a serious conversation with.
Mediocre food. Ambiance is good. Staff were not engaged. Not worth the price
I really wanted to love this place. While the decor and ambience is great the service and food left something to be desired.
Great experience and service
The food was lovely, the service was swift and kind.
Just great - lived up to expectations
Great wine list too
Very frustrating experience. I had made reservations for a table of two for a birthday on a Tuesday. When we arrived, the hostess directed us to sit at the bar. There were a few regular tables available and I asked if we could have one of those. She said they had been reserved. I responded that when I made the reservation I assumed it would be for a regular table; she suggested that I should have explicitly requested a table if that's what I wanted, which I found unusual.
She sounded annoyed by the conversation and said we could have a table, but only for 75 minutes and if we weren't done by then would have to move to the bar. I said that should be fine and then she repeated the time constraint when we sat down. This wasn't a great way to start our dinner. Our actual waitress was very professional and the food was well prepared, but partway through the dinner when the hostess came by to refill our water she repeated that we only had 40 or so minutes to finish our meal or we'd have to move to the bar. This was entirely unnecessary and made us feel quite rushed in eating our meal.
When we finally finished our meal (with a precious 15 minutes to spare) and settled our bill, the hostess went to get our coats and somewhat snidely reminded me to request a regular table next time I made a reservation with them. We have absolutely no intention of going back if that's the way they're going to treat their customers. Unless this is addressed by the management I would not recommend dining here.
FABULOUS! Loved it. Every bite was a taste sensation. Returning next month.
Food is always spot-on and the friendliest and most knowledgable wait-staff - always love coming here. They also really know their wines and suggest great pairings. A favorite!
One of Toronto's gems. The food is exquisite and inventive. Who knew that humble cabbage could become a culinary adventure? Excellent wine pairings and a civilized atmosphere conducive to conversation and relaxed enjoyment
Excellent service and food with the exception of the dessert tart which was soggy and unfortunate.
The place is really amazing! Food is always tasty, fresh and so good. You have to be prepared to wait a bit for your order but it's worth to do it. The service is also great! We went there for our anniversary and we got welcoming Prosecco glasses!
Delicious food and wines. Beautiful space and a fantastic playlist! Highly recommend.
Great service and attention to detail, best dining experience I've had in Toronto in a long time.
Another EPIC experience! Will go back for sure! Service was impeccable, and food matched!
Simply outstanding, from the first bite to the last. Stellar service, in an innovative and exciting menu will keep you coming back for more.
Beautiful place. All the food was wonderful, if a little full of salt.
Delicious martini, multiple olive refills.
Thanks for being so kind to my daughter.
We loved the unique options on the menu, the assistance of our server in trying to decide what to order and the quality of the food. We loved it so much, we made plans to return the next night!
Great meal, excellent staff, warm ambiance as always. We had our favourite seats at the kitchen counter - it's so much more comfortable and better for talking. The kitchen has a knack for making me fall in love with ingredients I usually loathe. Yesterday was kohlrabi paired with a sea bass crudo; I wanted to cancel everything else and order 10 more plates of it. Last year it was rutabaga in a salad I will never forget. And I was delighted with the Tempier Bandol rosé we had and that we'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. That's what I love about this place: nothing and nobody there is generic and boring.
An amazing experience where the wait staff created half sized portions and off the menu wine tasting options for a reasonable price. Great establishment.
excellent food and service. we bypassed this place so many times and not spotting it until recommended by our friend recently. definitely will return.
It was a wonderful experience. Our server Kayla was friendly and gave great recommendations. We were served a glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary which was a really nice touch. The food was delicious, portions were a bit on the small side so order more than you think you would need if you are sharing, which they do recommend. We sat at the chefs table (the counter overlooking the kitchen) which was great, as we got it see the chefs at work. We will definitely go back! Great food, great wine list, great vibe.
Grey Gardens is consistently one of the best places to eat out in Toronto. The combinations of flavours coming from the kitchen and options for wine curated by Jake is top notch and the room is beautiful.
The food was excellent and there was a very extensive wine menu.
Staff went out of their way to make the night perfect
Amazing! Eat everything on the menu. One of my best dining experiences.
Epic food, epic service! Very accommodating, and the food was incredible!
I loved my dinner at Grey Gardens. Beautiful room. The service and kitchen were a tightly run ship. Low key but all smiles, our experience came with an effervescent seventies soundtrack. Many diners around the room were humming. Good vibes. The food was delicious and interesting, playing with a balance of flavours in almost every dish. One of my companions thought they'd erred on the sweet side. He said he felt like he'd eaten a *candied* dinner! In some respects I might agree but it was never boring. They had a nice wine list. My cocktail was wonderful. Dessert, churros with strawberries was a little on the meh side. Maybe I chose the wrong thing. All told, GG is a very nice place to have a very nice time with good friends
Grey Gardens is a classy, modern place with excellent cocktails, a great wine list, and superb food.
In my most recent visit I had stuffed zucchini blossoms and a corn-infused ravioli. Both were delicious. The ravioli was extra special.
Service here is top-notch.
If you can, plan to arrive early to beat the crowd and claim a prime seat at the kitchen counter or cocktail bar.
Food and service were amazing. Great experience.
Loved the ambiance—very cool. I took my friend for her birthday and we ordered a few plates to share and a couple of drinks. The waiter was friendly and attentive, and I appreciated his help in selecting menu items that fit within my friend’s many dietary restrictions. We were a little disappointed that there was no dairy free pasta option (we love love love pasta), BUT, everything we ordered was so flavourful and cooked perfectly. I’m sure if we had ordered the pasta, it would have been bliss (I was drooling at the sound of them, all with butter).
Despite the extensive wine list, we started with the spritz cocktails, which I recommend (especially the mint flavour). During our meal, our waiter recommended a wine and it went very well with our first dishes. For food, we ordered: oysters, the beans (with shaved foie... the most unique dish and one of my favourites), mackerel (spicy, so my friend wasn’t a fan, but I thought it was okay—really needed that sauce though otherwise it was a bit bland), shrimp and spinach (yum), and the lamb (!!!!!!). That lamb deserves a round of applause.
Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and I would go back (though perhaps with someone who can eat dairy!).
Fantastic menu and service. The cocktails were a taste sensation so was the food.
