Amazing gourmet Indian food. This is not a buffet style place. Love it and I go to the Westend and downtown locations all the time. Service was amazing.

The food was great, but we had booked a reservation and there wasn't a table ready for us. The server wasn't rude, but wasn't pleasant either. She went through the motions but seemed very uninterested in smiling or being attentive. We left feeling a bit disenchanted.

The food was excellent, but the service was a little on the slow side. We waited 10 minutes after being seated before being asked for our drink order. That was the only blemish on an otherwise good experience.

Oh my goodness, what a great meal! My husband and I shared the cauliflower starter, paneer butter masala, rice, naan and then kulfi for dessert. The portions are very generous and so so tasty. Erica was an excellent server and the food was served to us quickly. It’s one of our favourite downtown spots!

This was the first time I had ever come to any Guru and was unsure as to what to expect as its a relatively new cuisine to me and let me just say that this was some of the best Indian food I have ever had and am already trying to find reasons to keep coming back for more! I love that you can order it family style so that you can get a little bit of everything and have more connection with the people you're dining with. Service was a little slow, but it was an event night at Roger's place across the street and so I am not unhappy about that. Overall was a great experience and very excited to come back!

Overall a good experience. Food was delicious and service was great. However, very overpriced. I asked for a cocktail recommendation and bartender said - let me make you something. When the bill came, it was $35! Given the price of the cocktail, I think the bartender should have mentioned the price. And this is consistent with the price-to-food quality ratio - way over priced for what you get. One and done but would not go back.

Love the idea and were looking forward to trying it out specifically Seitan's, however when we got there the Meat Shack and Oilburgers were the only kitchens open and also were told the Oilburger chef was away getting groceries... So tried the Meat Shack. The portions were just so small. Yam fries were 1/4 of what you usually get. I had the ribs which were tasty but left me hungry even with onion rings and coleslaw as sides. Later on we jealously watched the waiter bring big beautiful burgers to other tables as our hungry mouths watered.

Courteous staff that are very efficient. Game day menu, though limited in relation to their regular menu, hits the high notes. Solid wine list which ranks amongst the best in the ice district area. Solid spot to pregame IMHO.

Guru has become my before Oilers game favorite place to stop. If you like Indian dining or even if you do not there is enough flexibility in the menu to please most I think. The convenience of being right near Roger's so that I can park, eat, then head to the game without needing a coat as everything is inside with pedways. Service was great as suggestions were excellent and the food spice can be dialed to fit the taste of the person. Timing of dishes can be a bit slow but everything needs to be cooked so we don't get sick. Price was more than I expected but the food was taste was worth both cost and the waiting time.

So impressed. Just be warned though that the mains are big enough to share and you don't get rice or naan. Order that separately, but 1 order of each is again enough to share between 2-3 people. We'll be back very soon!

This place was wonderful. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. The staff were super nice and attentive, the food was delicious with a minimal.wait time. If I had any criticism, it would be nice if they had a bit broader of a menu. Keep up the good work guys!

We had a delicious meal at Guru Kitchen and Bar before attending a show at the Citadel Theatre. It was an easy walk and was a good thing to do because we were so full from our meal. We recommend paneer masala and beef vindaloo but especially recommend Cauliflower 65 as a starter. The service was great and their location is walking distance to all the downtown entertainment.

Service was slow. Drinks took a long time to come to the table. Appetizers came at the same time as the meal. Refills or second drinks were non existent. Food was excellent as always but would not go back on a game day.

We waited over 30 minutes for two bottles of beers! Sangria was flat and had hardly any wine in it! We had no water we had to ask for it! Service was super slow for food and drink! Only one bathroom per male/female and one disabled toilet! Menu is different on a game night as the kitchen can’t cope with too much demand :(

We had the chance to go for dinner on New Year’s Eve and this experience was amazing! Great food, really really tasty! Our server was just lovely, and the owner even stopped Ng to check on us. It was a fantastic dinner and we’ll be back!!

Bad service, drinks and food took a very long time and items were missed and never came. Only small plates on game day so very limited selections. Manager refunded meal but, food was not worth trying again.

This was our first visit, and we were very impressed. By far the best Indian cuisine we have had recently - possibly ever. Each dish was delicious and carefully prepared. Excellent wine list, and the cocktails looked amazing (although we didn’t sample). Well done!
