It all started in the late 1800’s.. a young Gustav Johann Garbe got on a boat from Bremen, Germany to New York, destined for the North West Territories of Canada. We loved the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. The food presentation was excellent and the steaks were cooked as ordered. I definitely would return to try more dishes.

Fantastic Mother's Day Buffet with sushi, fresh shucked Oysters, the world's most tender beef brisket, freshly made caesar salad and Asian noodle soup bar. Our waitress was awesome. Mimosas were great too! Hoping they do it again next year. 5 star experience and great service.

Made a reservation. Waitress was outstanding; ask for refills a few times, made sure everything was good, made conversation with us. Went for breakfast and the breakfast prices are worth their price and definitely will come back

We went there for our anniversary dinner as it was described as a fine dining restaurant. The food and service were phenomenal, but the part that brought the experience down was the loud obnoxious ladies at the bar yelling and cursing. If there was a way to curtail this or ask them to keep it down it would have made the whole evening alot better.

We all had different and wonderful food choices. Chris our waiter is always so good and I was happy he looked after our table. 3 of the 6 of us had never been there before and they all said they would return. I would only suggest they get more comfortable chairs as the ones there now have reached the end of there life! Well worth a visit!

Great dinner. They have a new chef. Very good execution on standard menu items. On my request chef made a garden salad that was not on the menu. It was fresh and delicious. Lots of choices on menu, fish,pasta, meat, nice selection of appetizers.

My partner and I had a wonderful valentine's dinner at Gustav's Chophouse and Bar. We live in the area and now that we've visited we will definitely be doing more date nights here. The chef's menu for the night was very extravagant and a very fair price. We also had a lovely waiter (Jess) who ensured everything was to our liking. The choice of music was also very fitting for Valentine's day. Loved the ambience and appreciated all the work that went into creating it. Thank you Gustav's!

Oysters was the reason we were going there but then we decided to have some appetizers the grilled octopus excellent, the cheese board lots of variety and warm olives, Yorkshire bites and the green kale salad each dish you didn’t wanna eat it looked so nice and you could tell fresh ingredients were used. Definitely recommend. See you next time

The food was ok, overpriced for sure. The steak was high quality, but came out warm. The mashed potatoes were really creamy, but not as good as at other similar restaurants. We went for our ten year anniversary and indicated it was our anniversary on our reservations, and no one at the restaurant congratulated us. Minor complaint, but it was a bit of a bummer. The hostess was not friendly. At all. The waiter that served us was nice. Just an overall mediocre experience.

Went early for dinner on a Saturday with my young children, restaurant has a fantastic kids menu and great value. Service was top notch, very attentive. Food was great. All in all a wonderful experience and will come again next trip up.
