The first outpost of local favourite Pizzeria Gusto, Gusto North is an extension of the flavours and feeling of being at an Italian family dinner table. Inspired by its original location on Academy, the Gusto team have brought a meticulously designed menu and space to Hargrave St. Market's only full service sit down restaurant. Visit, and you’ll feel at home in the middle of downtown.
As always, our experience here was great. The service was amazing; attentive but not annoying. Cocktail recommendations were on point as were the wine pairing choices. This place is in our top 3 Winnipeg restaurants.
Had dinner at Gusto North before the Jets game. Perfect location, amazing food, fantastic service!!
Overall very good. The ricotta appetizer was fabulous! Great salad and pizza, attentive service on a bust night.
Lovely evening with a friend after the jets game. The truffle pizza was delicious, would recommend!
Brought 3 people who’ve never been there before and thoroughly enjoyed it. We shared the Antipasto platter, two pizzas, and the doughy dessert with blood orange syrup and creme fresh. Everything was fantastic.
This is a great restaurant with great atmosphere however the noise level was extremely high probably 100db or more. That's our only negative. Thanks
We went before a Jets game. It took way too long to get our food, almost one hour. People who ordered 30 minutes after we did got their meal before we did. My wife ordered the lobster main and the portion was ridiculously tiny. Final tally, for 2 people (1 appetizer, 2 mains): $110. We complained so our drinks (1 glass of wine, 1 beer) were comped. Very poor value for what we had. Place was packed and super loud.
Pizza and wine were delicious. Server was very nice but service was not efficient. It took too long to just get acknowledged once seated at our table. Couldn’t even get water. We had to flag someone down to just get some water to get us started. Same thing at the end of service, my boyfriend’s beer glass had been empty for a very long time and he wanted another one but by the time our server came around we just got the bill and went to get drinks elsewhere.
Other then having a loud group next to us, it was a great. We had a delicious melon salad and the ragu was outstanding. Our servant was wonderful, she made sure everything was perfect.
Very loud. Not sure if anything can be done, but it is very hard to have a conversation
Still need to figure out the centre of their pizzas. Too limp to pick up. Not Academy Gusto quality just yet.
It was great
Food was delicious, especially desert, so make sure you leave some room! Staff was attentive and not invasive. Great place, will be back again!
Given the fact that we were a group of 22 people, the food was delicious and the servers did a wonderful job.
It's a lovely place. The pizza is wonderful. Highly recommended.
Celebrated three bdays with great food, awesome service and a great atmosphere. Definitely will go back.
Great for a pre-game bday dinner of 8. Last minute 9th showed up and staff accommodated even though there was a full house. Atmosphere is vibrant with lots of conversation. Not for a quiet dinner in any event on game nights!
Just like the original location, this is a great place to enjoy dinner. The location is perfect for a quality meal in an upbeat environment before the game or a lunch break for the downtown crowd. The Hall is quite loud and it does filter into the space and unfortunately, once the music is turned up it is difficult to have a conversation. Won't stop us from going though.
Seems like Gusto North has worked out the bugs of start up. Everything was awesome!
Food and service were good..bit of hassle that restaurant has no phone to call. One complaint i have is that there was no non-alcoholic beer available. I enjoy a beer like most people, but don't want to consume alcohol when i am driving. It isn't a big expense for an establishment to have this product available and should be considered especially in this day and age when people know full well that drinking and driving don't mix
Great food! Nice that it's a sit down restaurant option in the new Hargrave Street Market.
Overall great experience! The carpaccio was underwhelming, but the cocktails, pasta, and pizza was delicious!
Had dinner with some girlfriends on NYE and we all left extremely satisfied. Cocktails and food were amazing, and so was our server Kaylee!!!!
New Years Eve dinner booked shortly before and able to get awesome table and had a wonderful meal in a beautiful space while watching the Jets game
The food was amazing as always and the atmosphere was lovely
Scallops where cold and pizza was undercooked - the dough was pretty much raw! After touting the academy road location as the most authentic and best Italian style pizza in town after Friday’s experience at Gusto North I completely take that back!!
Fantastic venue and great food. Pre-jets game extremely busy, but a great atmosphere
Postgame sustenance after a tough Jets loss!
Great service (Megan) and terrific pizza as always.
The new ‘Melone’ salad was nice and refreshing.
This will be a regular destination after hockey games, such easy access and a welcome refuge from the crowds and traffic jams.
Loved the big screen tv’s set into the wall panels!
Pizza was underdone. He did take it off the bill which was good. Felt rushed likely as they were trying to push through more customers on a hockey game night. Better food choices and atmosphere at pizzeria gusto.
Loved our pre game there. Disappointed in the very small selection of beer.
Noisy atmosphere. Overpriced.
Much better dining experiences within walking distance.
Amazing food and ambience! My partner and I made a reservation on open table which guaranteed us a table after Jets game. For opening weekend it was a cool and trendy spot with a romantic vibe. Only downside was a wobbly table and fluctuating lights going dark and light throughout our meal. The food was phenomenal!!
fantastic new venue and great food. we will be back... many times
