The food was delicious, extremely fresh, and prices were good! The service was not great. I’m not sure if one server is assigned to each table or everyone serves all tables, but we had to flag someone down a few times, and ask twice if the sake we ordered was coming. We received our drinks well after our appetizers were finished and had to wait a long time between ordering courses.

Very cool place, recommend making reservations for weekends. Food was fairly fast getting there. Service very friendly. Food was amazing, had 4 apetizeers. Flight as sake was good, not amazing.

The Steak Bimibap, Q-Chan, green tea ice cream and Plum Wine were delicious however the chicken kara-age was okay. Glad we had a reservation because the place filled up quickly! The servers are very nice and were constantly moving with the place being full.

The food at Guu is always a treat, with rotating dishes and a variety of flavours, you're bound to find something for everyone to enjoy. I however found the service to lack attention this particular evening, which was a surprise. There were many empty tables throughout both spaces, yet I found myself having to track down staff to wave over for service. A dish was also forgotten from our order. Perhaps it was an off day? Regardless everyone is friendly and the food is always tasty!

Good food but terrible service. There’s a two hour limit for the table and yet had to wait 20 minutes to place our order, to the point where we had to flag a different server. Basically didn’t get any attention from staff: water was never refilled, empty plates weren’t cleared and we had to stack plates to make room for other dishes as they arrived. It wasn’t a busy night either, just pretty awful service which is disappointing given the price point of this place.

Food was great, but service was really lacking tonight. Took forever to order, barely was attended to, food came before drinks, and when we ordered more food, I had to repeat my order 3 to 4 times and ask where the last item was. Then we were given the bill before we got a response back on the last item, and then was told they were out of the item altogether. The last portion of food we ordered just took forever. Usually a great experience here but not sure what happened tonight!

It's my second time here and the service is still great. But the food itself is just okay. If you want a convenient but still relatively good spot to eat at before a night out or walking around Gastown, this place is still okay. Their drinks are great though.

When you like sake but don’t know which to choose, Guu has a great selection of flights. We sampled six, then picked a favorite. Oh, and the tuna tataki and beef bibimpap were excellent. Have the green tea ice cream for dessert. Sit by the window and people watch. FYI, it’s on the second floor of the building so a bit hard to find.
