Good food good service, small portion for the price, but its a izakaya....

A nice authentic experience. Clean restaurant and attentive service. Food was fresh and very good quality. They put in the effort to make our dine in a pleasant one. Definitely reccomend this location!

Every neighborhood deserves a gem like Guu Garlic -- the food is utterly delicious and of great value. We had the Sirloin Steak w/ garlic onion sauce, scallop mayo pizza, chicken teriyaki don, and orange cheesecake. The mains come in generous portions with choices of daily side dishes and cooked vegetables, balancing out the proteins. Our server doesn't speak English fluently but service was attentive nonetheless.

My wife and I *love* this place... We came here about once a week while we were dating, and this is the default place that we take friends who are visiting from out of town. Food is fantastic, service is great, and the atmosphere is usually lively without being too loud—you can have a conversation with your friends.

It's usually best to either make reservations or get there no later than 5:15pm on a weekend... It does get and remain busy.

Food is disgusting! Didn’t go for a year, food seems so different and low quality!! Especially don’t eat sashimi, my friend and I didn’t feel well the other day.

Probably one of the worst Japanese meal in my life. Foods were badly prepared. Sashimi was not up to the quality for the price they charged. Chicken namban was over fried and super dried. They should take a higher level of measurement to redesign and double check their menu. I would recommend people to go Miku for better quality. Price is about the same with much better service and food quality in Miku.

Felt like I was in Japan with such traditional Nippon cuisine. Udon with beef, sashimi combo, and uni hot stove were delicious. Service levels with Japanese attendants truly made the experience authentic. Highly recommended.

Staff were friendly, courteous, and efficient. Food generally tasted good; we found it a bit too heavily flavored even with rice. Price was reasonable.

We are from out of town and our good friend who is from Vancouver told us that this is a place that we shouldn't miss. I made the reservation and it was very easy. Arrives on time and immediately, we were seated. Service was great. We orders the most popular, like the yaki udon, scallop mayo pizza, sashimi, tuna tataki, steamed mussels in sake and garlic butter...etc. The taste was so good that it was like we are in Japan. Even my super picky son claimed that the place reminded him when he visited Japan last summer. We highly recommended and definitely make a reservation.

The restaurant had no heads up confirmation of seating limit which I was celebrating my birthday and felt rushed with no birthday dessert or anything as a greeting. Kind of disappointed!

Incredible, cannot wait to go back! My group was 6 people, had amazing service, and my friend at the table was Vegan and they had no issues slightly modifying dishes for her. Every plate was so delicious, and the value was unreal!
