This was our first time at the gyoza bar. The restaurant set up is a bit different as they must do lots of take out and have a little area at the front with pre-made meals/fresh food.
We arrived for happy hour; the pork gyoza, veggie gyoza, edamame and brussel sprouts were delish! I wish they had more options/variation for gyoza, I was expecting a few more options.
Would definitely return again and some other menu items.
Amazing flavours and ambiance. Love the ramen and Gyozas!!
(Almost drank the sauce!!)
Our food came before our drinks. The deep fried veg gyoza was too doughy with not enough filling
Kind staff and great comfort food. Gyoza Bar’s happy hour has become a weekly routine - great price on beer and wine. Love their happy hour dishes especially the Brussels sprouts. Cannot go wrong with a comforting ramen on a cold day.
Great place, food was good.. excellent happy hour until 6.
This is one of my favourite spots in downtown Vancouver. The food is great, as is the service. Everyone is so friendly. I usually order the shrimp gyoza but this time I tried the spicy chicken ramen and it was delicious! For dessert I usually have black sesame mochi, also delicious!
Was a good place for some Japanese style comfort food on a rainy day. Would gladly come back any time.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in all of Vancouver. Great Authentic Japanese food and great service!
Thank you to all the staff!
Gyozas were tasty but ramen was ok, maybe not a place for ramen but would like to try other options next time
Nice service and the food is amazing. We’ll come back for sure.
On a cold and rainy evening, hot spicy ramen was the perfect remedy. Gyoza bar was an easy walk from our hotel and the food warmed us up. Excellent value for the quality of the dinner. Ramen dinner just as I like it, a little “cachi cachi”(Al dente)
our waiter Oliver was responsive to our requests and very personable.
Menu has changed and miss some of the previous items. Recent concept of more take out items looks good
Best tunkatsu everything tasted delicious and the service was great
We loved Gyoza Bar! So yummy and such lovely kind staff.
Amazing place and food! Service was superb as well. Highly recommended
Great food, fast & friendly service
Everything was great except when we paid our bill. No equipment/machine to pay with credit card.
The ramen was too sweet and not good tasting. The cutlery tasted like dish soap. The ceiling was leaking something like propane. There was hardly anyone in there and we still struggled to get server attention. Payment app didn't work. Not going back.
Fantastic service as always, their marukatsu salad is one of my favorites!
No greetings at the door, no eye contact with customer caused delay to order food, I don't think any server or workers knows actual rules how to display food on a tray or chopsticks taboos.
Rice, miso soup were opposite, at the table setting, chopsticks should be placed parallel to the table, with tips to the left. Tiny small details are very important to be as "JAPANESE RESTAURANT"
taste was good, but it's very disappointed.
Best gyoza and ramen I’ve ever had! Our server was very lovely.
Pretty good Japanese food to eat in or take out. Tonkatsu was very good, moist and flavorful, Ramon was also very good. Kind of an informal atmosphere. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Servers where very friendly and efficient! Our food came within 10 minutes of placing it and the price pint was fair!
Excellent service and food
First time eating at Gyoza bar. Good food and the staff was pleasant. We will eat here again soon.
Our server, Mickey Mouse was great. Made great recommendations
We went for Happy Hour, 5-6 pm. Special menu included amazing tacos (3 for $11) of pork, chicken, or fish. The chicken and fish were so good we ordered another round…amazing crispy deliciousness! The meat sits on a bed of delicious Asian slaw and some dressing of some sort, you can add guacamole for an addl $1, which we did for round 2. Equally amazing are the flash fried Brussels sprouts….one order enough for 2 people. Happy hour prices are great, and the house white wine was delicious too! Top notch!!
This place brings me back to my year living in Osaka, where where the food was simple but really good, all presented in a set menu (teishoku) if you wanted, or individually.
I I loved the spicy red Tonkotsu Ramen.
Noodles were thin and perfect!
I and my friends enjoyed the food and service much!
amazing food and fast service! highly recommend! got in 10 minutes before our reservation and our mains took no time at all. the servers were all super friendly!
Great atmosphere and lovely decor
Give them your business !
Excellent ambience, food, and service. The staff deftly explained the menu. The meal and drinks were delivered timely. As for the bar’s namesake, try the gyoza; it is prepared to near perfection. Also, if you are up for it, try the ginger kombucha. It was so nice, I ordered it twice. All in all, a wonderful experience and will visiting again.
We had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely go back again. The food and drinks was very good and our server was excellent. I would have rated a little higher but the yuzu cake was dry and tasted like it came out of a box. Otherwise, we had a lovely experience.
Great waiter fantastic food
Serving size was good, very filling. Fried to perfection, but burritos i thought we're just ok.
Always a pleasure to eat here.
Gyoza is amazing. Everything else on the menu (except for ramen) is deep fried. I would have preferred some non-fried selections.
It was my first time to eat there, and I love the place and the server was really good and the manager was nice too.
Always excellent food and service. So glad it’s near my office and I can make a reservation in Open Table to minimize my time out for lunch.
Excellent service & food! They gave us a choice of tables as I requested a quieter one when I made my online reservation. I felt they valued us as customers as our server & host both remembered us from our previous visit in Dec. The food is always delicious. We look forward to a return visit.
