Sat us 20 min after our reservation and high was frustrating when we were on a schedule with the babysitter
I appreciate the consistent quality of their food and experience interacting with the staff.
Great as always!
Love going to Gyu-Kaku. Favorite group place for the experience and food. Would definitely go back, and I have a few times.
I’ve been here several times and usually loved it until this last experience. The host lady was very nice, same as our male server. Everything went good until the almost end. We were finishing our main meal and female server(who wasn’t this us) came and asked if we’re done, I said with grilling yes (but my friend was still eating what we cooked) and then 3 mins later she came with a check. I was like can we have a dessert? I checked the time it was 9.20.. we came 8.15.. it wasn’t that they’re closing, still many tables were grilling and nobody waited for a table so I felt weird about it. And as I asked about dessert she was- so what do you want. I asked but can I see what you have(I know desserts but it was first time for my friend) . That lady was pretty rude and was- it’s in the menu. I said ok, I’m gonna order right away, since you’re In the rush. My friend was having couple bites of main course left but she dropped dessert without waiting for her to finish and my friend just gave up the plate. As soon as we got dessert check was dropped with it. And then she was for like 5 mins walking around and checking if we put our cards down.So I was really upset what exactly we did so you had to kick us out?! We still had half bottle of sake! We didn’t overstayed, it wasn’t late. Did she have to go somewhere that couldn’t wait for 20mins?!
I was planning to celebrate my friend birthday there this weekend but after this will be looking for more welcoming place.
Wanted to grab some good food after escape room. Good location, a cute bar and comfortable seating. The food was delicious and understandably pricey, the extra veggies we purchased never really steamed, so maybe I’ll order cooked next time. Happy hour is everything! Loved the variety and the prices. Shoutout to our server Daphne and her team. We left happy and satisfied. Worth every penny.
Food and service was outstanding. Will be coming back again.
The food was on point. I had hanger steak, toro beef, spicy pork, garlic noodles, and ramen. The sweet soy and spicy are my favorite to dip the meat in.
It’s great for birthdays
For the first time there it was amazing
We didn’t know what each meat was all the time and they brought over so much food that we literally didn’t have anymore space but it was great.
Fun place. Plenty of food. Meat lovers for sure
My favorite Japanese BBQ place in the DMV. They always have great specials during HH. Monday- Thursday they have AYCE. I always go the ULTIMATE as you get the premium cuts and over 30 items to choose from. Reservations are always recommended. Fun place to come with friends as they do offer seating for large parties
Very bad experience. I’ve been a loyal Gyu-Kaku customer for nearly 20 years, visiting their restaurants in Japan, NY, Miami, and Arlington, VA. Sad to say that I will never go back. The service was horrible. I got up twice looking for help, and each time at least two servers just stood there looking at me. Food was decent but our grill was broken, it was so bad that they cooked some dishes in the back for our table. Then the bill came and it was just south of $200. That amount of money for some of the worst service I’ve ever seen in my life and a grill that did not even work. Gyu-Kaku, we’ve had many a great memories throughout the years, including our visits in Japan as my wife is from there, but sad to say that those years are long gone. Some memorable experiences should stay just that…as memories.
Very overpriced for what you get, but what do you expect it’s Arlington. Lives in Cali for over 15 years we’re you get the best Korean BBQ joints. This place barely gave any meat, the side dishes consisted of some dirty mushrooms, and some corn with butter on it. I will never go back again
Food is great, service - rather average: wine glass was extremely dirty, waiter should notice it without us pointing on it. Good place overall, will come again - hope they will do better next time. Meat treats are delicious, although I'd prefer to cook it over real charcoal instead of gas.
Really disappointed that the premium AYCE is not available on the weekends. Otherwise food was good.
So delicious and truly amazing service. They have their system down pact! Would absolutely go again.
Great food and great service.
It was packed in the restaurant. There were no more social distance but the food was always delicious.
Nice and so fun! Will definitely come back!
I loved this place! It is a little pricey but worth it 😊
Would get 5* throughout but just a little too close to other diners/ a little loud. Great! Will definitely go again.
My husband took me here for my 30th birthday yesterday and it was amazing! The experience was incredible. Great food, the service was fast & we ordered a Patron shot that was almost half the glass lol We'll definitely be back!
I would recommend for the experience. My particular table was somewhat small with a lot of plates it’s hard to navigate and also the service I received from my one waiter was subpar. I would recommend when you put down the food give a small instruction like the foil food vs the plated raw food how long to cook them and things like that. He just took the order dropped the food and walked away kind of took away from the experience for us
EXCELLENT AS USUAL. I LOVE THIS PLACE
Food was great and very well presented!
Service was poor
Umakara rib eye was amazing! This is our second time so we will surely be back soon
The new staffs are incompetent to perform their basic duties. I definitely miss the old team.
My husband and I ordered the Meat Lovers Course and it was fabulous. The flavors, timeliness of the meal, and service were great. We'll definitely be back!
First time visiting and greeted by friendly staff. Excellent at your table grilling and dining MGMT experience. We ordered the meat lovers for two - right balance of several meat selections with rice, salad and kimchi. My one recommendation (infilled request) is to accompany the meat with a side plate of lettuce (for wraps). A delightful gem in Clarendon. Definitely worth the trip from DC.
This restaurant is an excellent place for team building business meals, as it requires all diners to constantly interact with one another as they cook their meals. We will be back!
The food is delicious!
More of a family gathering of only 3 of us.
Very good food. However in regards to bbq menu choices, the offered combinations were not wide enough for us; all meat - all beef or all pork or mix & match with minimal amount of veggies. Instead, I chose the Chef’s BBQ Special for 2 and then added Calamari, Shrimps and assorted veggies. That worked really well. We also had 3 different types of salad included. A little bit of everything in in moderation was very satisfying!
This is my new ‘favorite to visit when I’m in town’ bbq!
Having been to Gyu-Kanu in Japan, I can say this is THE closest I’ve gotten to recreating that experience. I was so extremely excited with the menu and the options! I’ll be coming back for SURE!!
Great food and Service
It was great.
Love this fking place!!!
