This was my first time experiencing a hotpot type experience and I am glad this location is where I went as a first timer. It was a small wait for my reservation, but once I got there. We got one of the combos for two, and they were out of one of the more expensive cuts of meat, and instead of asking us what we would like to double up on for the others, they gave us the cheapest cut of meat as the one to double up on. The food quality was passable, but not exceptional. The service was almost nonexistent. This place has such a great reputation, but it must be from out of towners or someone who hasn’t traveled much.

I gifted my son tickets to the BASQUIAT exhibit and the WWE Holiday Tour! I know he enjoys cooking and I knew this experience would be awesome. He had the very best time. Has been talking about how he grilled his own food and that it was amazing. We came early after a mix up and the hostess was super accommodating and seated us early - we are grateful. It was a bit busy and so the service was a little slow but we really didn’t mind. My family got to enjoy each others company and enjoy the moment!

Everything was great. It was my Christmas present to my kids since we moved back to NYC. My only issues was the placement we were seated, granted I didn’t say anything but we were seated by the door and it was freezing outside and everything someone came in, the cold air blow directly on us. Other than that, everything was fantastic. I wish that had more seafood options and vegetable options on their menu.

We went to Gyu Kaku for my son’s 14th birthday. The food was great and it was so much fun! Service was excellent. It was the perfect place for this occasion.

One of the cuts of meat was very tough and not enjoyable. I told one of the servers and she didn’t say or do anything. Not even a suggestion. Like she shrugged it off. I’ve been her many times over the last few years, I was disappointed.

This was my first time dining in at Gyu Kaku. The door staff was receptive and welcoming. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and we were the only table in our section. Our server, Arturo seemed like he was on the back end of a long day at the restaurant and I get it! He went on to explain the menu and how the food is coursed. Straight to the point no frills type of service. If I was a tourist, I probably would of felt a little rushed to close out the night. Stella Artois are $7/bottle. Arturo also swapped our grill top for a cleaner, less burnt one. The apps were phenomenal. Soups, salads etc. Proteins were seasoned well. The idea of cooking dinner table side is engaging and fun. I will be back to try the meat lovers option.

It was our first time there, so the menu was a bit overwhelming. We ordered the 'feast' for 4 which was good but probably too much food for us. Everything was very tasty, though it sometimes felt like the food was coming out too quickly (particularly given the large quantity of it). The staff was very friendly and the booths were cozy. It was definitely fun to do the grilling and the s'mores were a great way to end the meal!
