I live in Texas and have been the one near me. I was visiting Minneapolis for a graduation and was delighted to see that this place was also in Minneapolis! It is not an all you can eat like in Dallas, but the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

We were having a birthday dinner celebration, the atmosphere was pretty loud but energized and fun. Our waiter was great, very attentive - all the staff was very nice! We always have a great time when we go to Gyu Kaku, and the food is delicious too

Our waitress was awesome!!! She was very informational, it was our first time. It’s some what loud but it was ok. Please put up signs for parking. The food was good. But for 100$ for the chiefs choice it was very little. That part was not impressive. I had the sushi that came with it and roast beef on top…. That was weird. The salad was nothing special. The miso soup was straight up seaweed. BUT the beef we got was very very good! Shrimp is good size. Hopefully next time would be better.

It was great, the experience was unique, but the servers weren’t quite good, I had a bad experience with my server and had to have a server from an other table bring me refills and napkins and other things cause the server at my table disappeared until he brought the check to the table.

Food was good, but grill was cooking too slowly. Food took a while to all come out. Not sure if they were short staff, but our waiter rarely came by - just to drop off food. If we asked for a fork or something, he took a while to get it or simply just didn’t come back. In total, we spent 2.5 hours there due to the long wait for just getting our food and grilling. That’s ridiculous! Oh, and there was a mandatory gratuity which honestly, I felt they didn’t deserve this time. We ALWAYS tip 20% for great service. This experience was lacking by far!

Staff weren’t that friendly and not super helpful. Manager or someone higher had us move tables and didn’t offer anything in return. Food is overpriced for what it is. Meat tasted decent but not great. Pretty loud so don’t expect it to be romantic. You sit directly next to people also. Would not go back.

Felt very lucky to get in to Gyu-Kaku - Minneapolis 2nd time as our group was 2 hours late! Staff understood and made space for us to dine. As always,we got lots of different dishes to share, each one was delicious. Service was quick and efficient, would go back to Gyu-Kaku - Minneapolis anytime we have a group family event!!

First time experience and would definitely go back. Our server Sam was fantastic. She explained everything really well and was so friendly. We were celebrating a birthday and we were treated wonderfully. There was a lot of food and the cuts of meat were delicious. We also really liked the fondue and the salad.

Something fun that we'd never tried before! The food was delicious and ordering one of the packages takes all the guesswork out of what to choose. A small restaurant, pretty busy but service was quick. Great for a small group! We'll definitely be going back.

I invited to this restaurant last week by friends. They made the reservations a month in advance and we were seated next to the bathroom. When the person holding the reservation protested we were told it was the only table. The experience was otherwise great - service and food. However you can literally see the toilet in the bathroom from your table as people come and go. I made this reservation to take my parents in from out of town thinking it would be a fun experience. The reservation made ahead of time notes to please not seat us by the bathroom. We already had our turn. Guess where we were seated? After waiting 20min after our reservation time, everyone was crabby from being in the crowded entry and I didn’t want to make a fuss that there were other tables but this was ridiculous. The bartender was serving our table and clearly did not have the bandwidth due to the demands of the entire restaurant on her. The food all came out of order, things were forgotten. It was terrible. The owner checked in multiple times and everyone was pleasant but I probably would not come back after getting this table twice in a row and the chaos of our last visit. Pleasing my parents is hard enough, frustrating them is not the evening I am looking for.

Gyu-Kaku is a small comfortable setting where you’re able to sit comfortably and enjoy a good meal. Service was fast,staff helpful and friendly. Price was totally reasonable, pleasant experience,will go back.

This was a fun experience, but overall not worth going back to. Service started out strong, but we were quickly forgotten about. Of the prepared foods we ordered, the cold tofu appetizer was the best. Very simple and flavorful. The crispy rice with tuna tartare on top was just very gross. Looked like the tuna had been sitting out for way too long. Crispy rice was good though. As far as things we grilled, the shrimp, broccoli, and zucchini were good, and the calamari and asparagus were just disappointing. Our group was mostly pescatarian, and this place seems geared towards beef eaters, so maybe the beef is the way to go here. This is definitely not on my list of places I need to visit again.
