I've visited this location twice now, and I really enjoyed my experience here. The servers were very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious as always. I highly recommend the spicy beef ramen in addition to any of the bbq combos. Going during happy hour (2-6p) is the best deal. This is a great place for a date or small group to get together over food.

EXCELLENT service, all around. We came in hungry, and our server hooked us up fast, giving great tips and recommendations throughout. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the Meat Lovers courses for 2. The flavor from the marinades and seasoning was lovely, and more subtle than anticipated. This allowed me to still be able to experience the quality meat underneath, and experiment with the house ponzu. While any place like this will inevitably leave a lingering perfume to your clothes, the vents did a great job keeping the dining room comfortable regarding smoke and after smell. We really enjoyed our experience at Gyu-Kaku, and look forward to stuffing our faces here again.

Lots of plates when you order the per person option. And it’s sort of fun to cook over the fire. But the food is under seasoned, sauces were bland, and there were only 3 sauces. Food was just a bunch of meat, a few mushrooms, some zucchini slices, shishito peppers, and a small bowl of corn (so weird). If you like just plain, charred meat, and a loud restaurant filled with smoke, this is your place. Also, the gas is under the table and takes up a good portion of the leg room.

First time coming to the restaurant and had no idea of what to expect. We were a party of 4 so we ordered the dinner for4pp. The food kept coming and coming. Started off with soup, then apps followed by main course. The food just kept coming and coming. You get to cook the meat at your table which was fun and neat experience. You will not leave hungry! I have a feeling that we could have ordered the meal for 3pp and that would have been enough for the 4 of us! We all enjoyed it and look forward to going back

I don’t recommend the dish "rica & garlic", the rice was terrible, we didn’t eat it and we paid for it. The quality of service dropped a lot, they didn't ask us if we liked the food. We never saw any interest from the server or manager about if everything would be fine. Since my last visit it has stopped being one of my favorite restaurants.

Super happy to find a this type of restaurant in NOLA. Staff was super nice and even ran our cell phone out to us after we left it. Would definitely try the 2 person value option next time as it looks like a really good deal. We loved the veggie rice bimibap. Can’t wait to try it again.

I have been to this location three separate times now. In general, myself and everyone else in my party has thoroughly enjoyed each experience. My only complaint would be that the meats are brought out too quickly from the kitchen. Each time that I have gone my party had barely gotten into eating the appetizers/noodles/salads when the entree meats were brought to the table. When all of those items are on your table at the same time, it makes for a very cluttered eating experience. If the meat were perhaps brought about about 10 minutes later, the experiences would have been close to perfect!

We enjoyed our visit to Guy-Kaku. The meat was absolutely delicious and the Bibimbap was wonderful. There is more food than you can eat! The only improvement would be more instruction on how to cook and know exactly which beef we were cooking. It's so hard to get them confused. Overall we had a great experience and we will be back.

We went for Valentine’s Day and the food was really good! The drinks were tasty and we had an overall really good experience. Will definitely go back!

I looked forward to a once in a very long time date night with my partner. We chose Gyu-Kaku for the occasion as we have many times before. Our reservation was at 9:15. We arrived on time and were sat around 9:30. Anh, our waiter, greeted us after about 10 minutes and immediately asked what we planned to order for our main course, along with our beverages. After several parcels of food arrived at the table we finally received two sodas. Another 15 minutes or so. Anh delightfully reminded us that it was “almost closing time” as we asked for our missing soups. This was likely around 9:50. We received our main course before our second appetizer was brought to the table, Anh forgot to enter it whilst entering our first appetizer. Furthermore, as we enjoyed our main course, Anh reminded us again that the kitchen was closing soon. Considering our order was complete, there was no logical reason to mention this to us. It was very apparent that we were being rushed. Ahn then decided to rush the patron seated to our rear by regurgitating the same statement. The patron became uncomfortable, exclaiming that he “didn’t know yet”. As we wrapped up the disaster of an experience we had by stacking our remaining dishes to the side of the table soured by our night being rushed, Anh took our card to the payment station. Our card declined, Anh didn’t know however as he handed our receipt booklet back to us with a declined slip inside instead of the usual customer/merchant copy pair. Out of sheer morality and the last morsel of patience my partner and i had to offer, we decided to let another waitress know about it.

This is the perfect restaurant for a special occasion. The portions are good and the food is delicious. There’s lots of options too.

We had reservations for 5 people for dinner and were seated right away. Service was good and the food was plentiful and delicious. We will visit again.
