Our server seemed too busy half the time to come to us and we the $55 happy hour dinner for 2 and we ordered chicken karrage appetizer and it showed up after our whole meal was done and we had to ask her twice for it and she most likely forgot... also the rice bowl that comes with the meal also showed up after we ate...
very disappointed with the service ive been there 3 times and this was the worst service ive had and it was only 4pm and it wasnt as busy as the other 2 times ive been in there and i had way better service the other times.
First time here and the service was amazing, our server took his time in answering all our questions.
Tried calling about 5 times, no one answered the phone. Eventually just made a reservation online. When we arrived it was obvious that the staff was under pressure, and understaffed. Many people waiting, and tables that were just sitting empty waiting to be cleaned. Happy hour is traditionally a cheap drinks time. To my surprise there were no happy hour drink prices, just a daily drink special. For me this was a bit misleading. The waitress name was Japanese so when we tried speaking Japanese to her she she didn’t understand, so she she wans’t Japanese? Also her English wansnt particularly good either and she did make a few mistakes with our orders.
The food was good and as close to the real Yaki Niku as your gonna get outside Japan. The cocktails are also good, and draft beer too.
Girl that served us was awful (Irene). The food was great. The girl who brought the grill was great. Very helpful. I would go again if I didn't get Irene as a server.
Great points system great food. Very efficient and friendly service.... Always reserved because this place is packed!
I specifically mentioned that it is my girlfriend’s birthday, yet the server brought us to a table that is cold, and has a ton of water dripping from the ceiling while almost half of the restaurant was completely empty. Very disappointed.
Just normal, nothing special.
Food was good! Excellent service ! Will come again. Please expect a bit of waiting time for a table. Reservation suggested.
I have been to the Downtown and Broadway branch and wanted to see if this branch also lives up to the first two. Definitely worth trying to find parking for. We made reservations at 8pm and because there are other restaurants nearby, it was difficult to find parking, but there were a few near the back. I though the layout of the restaurant was well done, it felt pretty spacious inside. Our waiter was very helpful, and we appreciate that the manager came during our meal and talked with us at the end before we left. I could tell she really wanted to hear any feedback we had. It does feel like it is still understaff, so the wait times were kind of slow, but other than that, the food was very delicious and would definitely come back again soon!
Great experience with my friends.
Everything was delicious today — value was great for all day happy hour and all the discounts we got with the Gyu-Kaku app. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Tofu Chigae soup wasnt even hot it was boarder line cold
Delicious as always. Get the app so you can get some discounts! Portions were a little smaller this time but everything was still good. Will be back in the future.
Food is good but on the pricey side. Hard to find a parking lot.
This was the first time I have been to the Richmond location. I have been to the other 2 in Vancouver and this one fits right in the middle of the 3 for size of location, but food is equally as great as the other locations.
This locations has a slightly different vibe to it compared to the other 2. Ceilings are a lot higher, which I think allows the music and conversations of other patrons bounce around more making this location slightly louder. To me it's not a big deal, but for someone looking for a quiet dining experience you may have a better experience at the Vancouver locations. That being said the location is quite large with plenty seating and the food is equally amazing compared to the other locations. One plus with the Richmond location is parking is free!
Overall I had a pleasant experience and I will definitely come back to this location for the food as well as the parking!
Good food and great value! Very convenient to have an online booking system :)
We came here for my dad’s birthday and we had a great time! Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back in the future!
There are 3 Gyu-Kaku in Vancouver and this one in Richmond is the worst.
The food, service and atmosphere are much worse than those I visited in Japan.
The foods are very good! I will go with friends next time.
